He will show up soon, sir. I got your back on this one because my dad was a WWII vet and he was taught the work ethic by his parents who had a small farm in rural Davie County, NC not too far from the Davie County/Rowan County line many decades ago. And they were also very active in their church and community.

Please know people of Appalachia, especially in the hills and hollers have big hearts but can be very private, proud of wary towards newcomers. It's our history. I served with D Company 2nd502nd infantry 101st in Vietnam 1969! Most of our senior officers and NCO's were in France in WW2! Such leadership, that we are lacking from the top! I LOVE how locals, outsiders, charities, and governments work together! Reminded me of my military days! Amazing how fast roads are being opened!! Sad that local republican and democrat elected leaders, who know best, said partisan conspiracy rumors were hurting rescue efforts. PS I've looked at many videos from those there. Of course help can't get to every person fast enough. Of course some bad instances. One sheriff got in the way. An army helicopter accidently flew close to supplies and a report is being made. But other rumors were contradicted. Musk thanked Buttigieg for correcting his confusion between FAA and FEMA. And several rumors were nonsense like the government made the hurricane (they are natural but the unnaturally heated Gulf of Mexico makes them worse). America is great when we work together. Thanks!

FEMA and National Guard were there long before the Army was. You need to understand that search & rescue has to happen first, and anything that gets in the way of that, like bulk delivery of non-critical supplies, has to wait until after the rescues are done.
@TeddyEriksen

@ApocolypseZombie your right and that maybe true..but when it's a region and terrain such as WNC..your gonna need more and that has been proven since day one..locals have lead the way on almost all aspects of this recovery effort..I've been there ,it's definitely not fema that's leading anything..national guard on the other hand has stepped up..still civilians doing the bulk.as well as . the DOT..and linemen from every where...but eventually the civilians are gonna burn out or have to return to their own homes and jobs..hopefully FEMA will step in..I'm not trying to diminish FEMA..but they are not as big in the effort as others are..js

2:42 so they arrive and take food lunches from a volunteer setup? 4:07 Leave the food at the door... for the bears at undamaged houses in undamaged neighborhoods??? Where are your engineers and equipment to fix roads and do you still have Bailey Bridges (A British invention I learned as a combat engineer) in inventory because a lot of small town bridges got destroyed. I must say these new infantry squad vehicles M1301 are cute to run around in.
@mysticmama_3692
@mysticmama_3692 4 дня назад
Um...being that I'm actually in WNC let me explain something to you. Those people in those undamaged houses, in those undamaged neighborhoods don't have power, water, internet or cell service. If military is leaving the supplies at their door for them it means that these neighborhoods cannot get out to get supplies because the road down the way is impassable. Just because their house is intact doesn't mean they don't need help and aren't in a bad situation...as many of the trapped people you are hearing about are in little communities and neighborhoods just like this. The roads are NOT there further down the road, and if they had to go across a bridge to get out...that's likely to be gone too. Lastly, the bears here are black bears...they are very timid bears unless you approach a cub in front of the mom. That being said, the bears aren't coming on the porches of these houses to take the food being left there when the person living there knows it's being left. They aren't just going to leave it there for hours and hours and even if they did, it's actually NOT common for bears to come into developed areas unless you are in very specific areas. So please, don't criticize the actual boots on the ground helping us unless you are willing to get off your butt and do this kind of help yourself and trying to criticize them for leaving food (I notice you haven't traversed over these down bridges and roads to drop off food yourself) citing bears as the problem...when you clearly know absolutely NOTHING about our area and about the behaviors of the black bears in this region. Why don't you go and do something that's actually helpful instead of being an online troll?

I appreciate what you posted. With such a rich story, one that is historically so important to our times, most video is just plain poor. The video people just don’t know how to do their jobs. In the middle of a hurricane we see people telling the story with the camera trained on them as they are pelted by rain. Instead of focusing on the event they make it about themselves. Here are some obvious but unanswered questions about this event I have seen no video on: 1. Prepositioning of resources ( Look at what Governor DeSantis did) 2. Why was North Carolina caught so much by surprise? 3. Numbers? All of the videos are like a series of photos that have no context. 4. Maps would be helpful but not shown. Yes these you soldiers are helping but their story is not really being told. I just don’t think we have an Elon Musk of story tellers.
