For the most part, Superman has been consistently the same throughout the DC multiverse; a good man with great powers who was raised by a kindly couple to care about people and try to do the right thing. Versions of Superman that go bad are either versions that have had something extreme happen to them to warp their world view such as injustice Superman or the justice lord Superman, or they were never raised with good morals to begin with like Ultraman, or the misguided Red Son Superman. I prefer a good Superman over an evil version, and the only interesting versions of evil Superman are versions that went bad due to their character and ideals being misguided or challenged rather than just have Superman be bad because people think evil superman is cool. Good Superman has shown to be the best version of the character and it has been shown that there are more good versions of Superman than evil versions throughout the DC multiverse. The world needs Superman and the DC multiverse needs Superman to be good.
Honestly my favorite Superman preflashpoint Superman with his wife Lois lane and they have their son Jonathan Samuel Kent superboy as his little 10 year old self.
You forgot The Masked Superman from Future's End. You forgot Superman from Smallville Season 11. You forgot Superman merging with Madman. You got certain details of Earth-2 Superman wrong. And you got the debut issue wrong. But other than that, it was a good video.
I love most of them, but the classic will always be the best. I liked Injustice's a lot too because it really does show how scary Superman would be if he truly lost everything dear to him.
@@Fenris30 Yeah Batman and his family have at times killed people, he doesn't seem to get criticized as much. I think part of that is Batman is grim, dark etc his world in general Gotham so it's probably more accepted where as Superman is this boyscout, supposed to be a beacon of hope and nearly perfect so it's a bigger deal if he does something like kill. But yeah I mean both aren't supposed to kill or go that dark so they should get picked equally if people are going to do so.
If Cosmic Armor Superman is truly described as in the video, and I hope it's so, why have I so many times read the opinions of others that CAS was defeated, even destroyed, at the end of the battle. This is why it's important that the writers make their thoughts and intentions clear, it's simply a matter of telling the story right and doing it as a professional.
I was surprised you got the first appearance of Ultraman from the antimatter universe wrong. His first appearance was the Grant Morrison "Earth2" graphic novel
Confused as to how a composite character of Dr Manhattan and Captain Atom ( Cpt Allen Atom) is on a list for Superman alternates when Superman was also in that story.
They’re not variants of Superman in that they’re called Superman or are versions of Karl-L. But they were used as Superman stand ins for their their universes, therefore they’re considered Superman variants, especially Captain Atom.
Notice where he said he was in Chicago If you’re from Chicago you know where 167th is and you know damn well that’s not a neighborhood to hang out in 167th is like 40 mins south of downtown.
New 52 Superman was Stronger then the Regular Superman, Dude lifted the weight of the earth for days without tiring. Regular Superman had to get help pulling the Moon. Haven't touched a DC comic since they essentially took him to an empty room and put a Kryptonite bullet in the back of his head like Tommy DeVitto.
*19:07* Uhh the Joker-Lex amalgam from the *"Speeding Bullets" Elseworlds story was bald so he didn't have any green hair to be seen unless you count his eyebrows and pubic hair....
Speeding Bullets had so much Potential, shame it was Wasted. Should have had a Batman Writer write the story then we could have gotten a Story worth creating a New Earth for. Hell just look how many Earths Batman elseworlds create just by Existing vs How many Superman creates. If he created one it has to include the whole Justice League rather then just him. Y'all know I'm right.
Superman takes down Namor with a full powered blast of heat vision to Namor's eyes and KO Marvel's First Mutant or use the heat vision to give Namor a lobotomy. Superman beats Wanda by using speed attacks to confuse her and when Wanda, the artificial man fukka, is disoriented one shot to the head and Wanda's done. Superman is probably physically stronger than Thanos, yet Thanos knows HOW to fight. Superman is faster and easily dodges Thanos' attacks, countering with precise strikes to pressure points until Thanos is beaten. If Superman is fighting Hela in Asgard she'll have the advantage. Heat vision burns Hela's hand holding the Necro Sword off her wrist. While still in shock, Superman snatches the blade, decapitates Hela, crushing her head before setting head and body aflame, scattering the ashes in space so Hela cannot regenerate and remains dead. Super speed and freeze breath won't beat Surtur. Freezing Surtur's face will distract him so Superman could remove Surtur's crown then destroying it by tossing it into a sun light years away from Asgard.
You're editing the comic book history of Superman by saying the woke version "truth, justice and a better tomorrow" The original is "Truth, Justice and the American way"
Darn Wokies! Superman Should always be described as being Faster than a speeding bullet, stronger than a locomotive, able to leap over tall buildings in a single bound. Nothing more, Nothing less consarnate!
