In today's video we are creating some well needed storage elements! We renovated an old dresser which was being eaten by insect and created new shelves with birch plywood for the kitchen.. Enjoy!

📖 Our Story:
We bought this stone house in Italy during the pandemic in 2020. The house was a ruin and we saved everything we could, unfortunately that meant only four stone and clay walls! The back wall, against the terrain, was close to collapse; the roof beams were eaten and basically reduced to dust; the inside separation walls were easily taken down and the whole project turned into a heavy renovation/rebuild.
Follow our journey as we turn this old stone house into a beautiful home 😊.

Молодцы! Комод шикарный, он украшает ваш интерьер. Царапины на дереве хорошо выравниваются грецким орехом, просто зернышком протрите. Полки очень хорошо сделаны, осталось покрасить в белый цвет. Pour le traitement anti mite, j'ai transvide le liquide dans un vaporisateur pour gain de temps ... En plus c'était efficace ... Ne jamais mettre dans la maison un meuble avec des traces, trous, de mites avant le traitement pour éviter une contamination des autres meubles. Ceci dit avec beaucoup d'❤ ...

One of my favorite furniture restoration channels on YT is called "Modern Makeovers" and he's real good. I've actually seen him add little dings to the wood to look like wood worm LOL. That is a beautiful piece you are working on in this video. Thanks for my Sunday morning fix!!

Watching from Canada, and thoroughly enjoying the journey you have taken us on. My suggestions regarding the continuation of your walkways would be to continue with the stone concept that you finished off the back area with. This should cut down on the dust problem you described in an earlier video. I would also suggest using wood for your pergula and bench. Something similar in color to your beams and doors. A shard area in the back for your dog would be awesome. Always look forward to your weekly videos.

Hi guys, loved the full home tour. Your place is a little slice of heaven. On the patio area have you thought of pouring a nice thick slab of concrete for the seating option ? Painted pure white, all the stonework everywhere is beautiful but this would break it up a little.Add a bunch of nice bright coloured cushions. On the pathway leading around the house you mentioned possibly using gravel. How about white gravel/ pebbles, again to break the stonework up.

J'ai adoré le beau contraste entre les étagères en bouleau et la structure blanche dans les niches de la cuisine, et le papier dans les tiroirs de la commode (avec un imprimé fleur de lys très français, j'en suis sûre). 🤭☺ J'ai eu des problèmes de termites dans les meubles de la chambre de ma fille, et j'ai acheté un produit en spray, mais le produit était livré avec un tube en plastique très fin et souple et une aiguille, protégée par un cône en latex pour protéger la main de l'applicateur. Votre maison s'améliore de semaine en semaine, félicitations !

I was surprised to see you fill in the wormwood holes as that is often a sign of age & character in these old pieces of furniture. But it came out lovely and you did just the right thing. Great job lining the drawers, that’s one of my least favorite things to do! Speaking of linings, are you going to line your shelves with wallpaper or some thing similar? They look lovely the way they are, but it will be easier to clean if you have some kind of barrier between the wood and leaking jars of oil and/or spices. Your kitchen is really coming together and I’m excited to see what the storage area will look like once the doors are on. I think you said they were going to be the same as your kitchen cabinets? I had visions of the doors looking like the antique one you bought for the bathroom. Either way it will look wonderful. ❤

I am a fan of the birch veneer plywood. Yes, it is very expensive, but worth the money. You also need to use a fine cutting blade because it tends to splinter if you don't. I bet it smelled so nice when you cut it, one of my favorite wood scents. The old second hand dresser came with extras, eh? Hope they didn't charge you extra for that, lol! That came out nice, the fleur-de-lis paper is a good choice. As always, excellent work!

I've repurposed a lot of wooden dressers and the one thing I dislike is, even with paper in them, they give my clothes, sheets or whatever, an old wood smell. Now when I do repurpose, after cleaning, I get a spray can of a clear polyurethane and spray a couple good coats in all the drawers to seal the wood and smells in. Works really well. By the way, never seen anyone use a syringe on woodworm before!

Hello Again, thank you for my Sunday fix. A cup of coffee and a visit with you. I have to admit that I never thought before about gluing down the drawer paper liners. I mean I have always lined the base of the drawers but never glued them down. Makes sense really to line the entire drawer when you think of it. Thanks for the tip. Salut Vince. Chouettes étagères et surtout la finition huilée 😊. Personnellement j'utilise des cornières en aluminium 20 mm x 20 mm) pour faire tenir mes étagères entre les meubles hauts de cuisine ou dans mes placards. Je mets 2 vis contre la paroie verticale et une vis de bas en haut au travers du rail pour fixer l'étagère qui ne pourra pas sortir vers l'avant si je tire trop rapidement ce qu'il y a dessus. Une seule vis à gauche et à droite sur chaque barreau et qui s'enfonce de 11 mm dans l'étagère. Ça prend forme bravo. Nabilou de Seine Saint Denis

Trabajar con esas vistas,una maravilla! Pregunto si en vez de color puertas en los estantes de la cocina prueban con dejarlo a la vista? Claro que hay que mantener cierto orden en los estantes ,es una desventaja pero quedaría lindo y no tan cerrado. Digo nomás, de todas maneras vuestra casa está quedando hermosa! Hello jeunes gens 😊 Ce meuble est vraiment très joli, il a demandé beaucoup de travail mais ça valait la peine. Ca apporte un charme un peu vieillot, très apprécié 😉 Je préfère également les tasseaux chaque fois que possible, cela permet de laisser les planches d'étagères intactes. Très beau travail, le résultat est net et soigné 👏 Câlins à la poilue 🥰 A très vite !

might add a pc of plywood or a pc of stone or mosaic tile to the bottom that is plastered. just for ease of dusting and wiping down. plus if you have everyday items in that spot moving them around and in and out will mess up the plaster.

One of my favorite parts of the videos is listening to the French and Italian. I am curious about the translation at 14:52. “The result is very simple and sober which suits us perfectly.” I am wondering if “sober” is the intended translation. Makes perfect sense but I am wondering what the French equivalent is.

bjr! les finitions, ça peut paraître un peu "longuet", mais c'est très satisfaisant! j'espère que vous avez pas payé trop chère la commode, car piquée ainsi, sans traitement, elle aurait fini en poussière! !!!! quel plaiz de travailler sur "votre" terrasse avec une vue pareil ! mais pas trop le temps de regarder! votre "autre" terrasse s'amégage un peu! bless..

Oui c'est très long! Pour la commode, on a pas payé trop cher étant donné les prix du marché 😉
