I was born in the early sixties and listening to music was and still is one of the most favorite things i do. I've listened to all kinds of music and Raul Malo is one of the greatest singers (Hands down! ). The aspiring musicians of today would do well to sit down and listen to the music created by this man and his bandmates- The Mavericks- because if they can learn from the best there is, Maybe one day they will be as talented as this man and his bandmates ! Necatnetwork- Thank You for posting
This guy can sing ANYTHING, and sing it great. Doesn’t matter the genre. His rendition of Hey Girl, a terrific rhythm and blues song by Freddie Scott in the 60’s, another outstanding artist from another era, was total genius!
Raul Malo is right up there with Tony Bennett, Roy Orbinson, and any one else he choses to sing including himself, I have always loved the Mavericks and Raul singing solo, I am a New York Italian Hillbilly loving Ernest Tubbs, Hank Sr., Johnny Cash, Marty Stewart,George Strait and George Jones. I adore country music and throw in the accordion and horns and I just melt and Raul does all that. I have seen him perform here in Phoenix and I just felt all his energy and connection with his fans, he is the bomb and although admitting a grouch and hard on himself he's just blessed with being able to make people feel good and fall in love with love over and over again. Thank you Raul, God bless you and Betty and the boys always, sincerely Charleen
I don’t speak Spanish and if I remember right Come Un to Me was in Spanish I fell in love with it and repeated quite awhile and was asking my friends to tell me what the words and was a happy surprise it was in English so I believe the Spanish record will be the same.
One of my most favorite Malo/Mavericks tunes is 'Moonlight Kiss' and this rendition is just the cat's meow! :) (that's a compliment) Does anyone know who the fiddle meister is? The tune starts at 56:00. Thanks
Toni Weel - This song is 'Till I gain control again, it's a Rodney Crowl song and Raul has a couple of versions of it on RU-vid but so do a lot of other artists/singers including Rodney Crowl and Albert Lee.
