You need goats to keep all of the bramvles and brush rown. Work smarter not harder. Yes, goats require some care but not much. They are pretty hardy and you woyld be amazed at how much they woyld help in the care of the property. Get 2, and see. Or borrow from neighbors!
In Portugal, goats can stay outside all year round. All you need is a mobile electric fence, a mobile shelter, because goats don't like rain, and a water trough.
Goats have time, a lot of time. They use it mainly to think of ways how to get to the other side of the fence. And they succeed, always. Even electric fencing is a joke for them. So you might save some time caring for your land, but you’ll spend a lot of time keeping them where you want them to be.
I think Julie summed up Project Kamp nicely with one sentence when taking about the lagoon and waterfall: "Finding the right balance between caring and taking is not an easy task, but we will get the hang of it "
I think that you should install a gutter system on the pig trailer. With basics filters you could harvest clean water in a tank (reuse an old ibc like the one for the biogas tank). If not drinkable the water could serve other purposes (watering plants, for a summer shower near the pig trailer, washing dishes, etc).
@@paranihiaanaru4414 I imagine with the nearby pond from a recent video, most of the rainwater becomes groundwater that runs into that anyway so they're indirectly conserving it.
I would recommend to make not less but more dams upstream. Making the stream more wide at those points like little ponds combined with overflows inside a wadi. Just so you can retain more water during the winter months that are becoming much more wet to compensate for the much longer dryer seasons It also helps with slowing down water, wich can proof lifesaving for the people as for the nature during "monsoon" / extreme rains Greetings from landscape architect. Great small bird feature! And I love the color of the big trailer, also called pig trailer (Which I didn't realise till today). Greetings from good old Vienna
I particularly like how the video guys make a cameo appearance from time to time. All in all Project Kamp is a fantastic learning environment. Keep up the great creativity!.
It may be interesting to have the frontdoor opening to the exterior instead of inwards. It'll give more usable space in a small space such as the trailer. But overall an impressie result 😊
You should build a little roofed area outside the door of the pig trailer. That way people can remove muddy shoes outside even when it's raining. Makes it much easier to keep the inside clean. It would only need to be large enough to overhang the stairs.
Since there's a lot of leftover wood, I think you can use them and create small trinkets or items that you can sort of auction or sell to raise funds for Project Kamp.
The rain on the tin roof sounds like popcorn popping. The lagoon and damn look fantastic, great work you guys! I liked the time lapse especially. The trim-guide you added onto your circular saw, BRILLIANT !! I will absolutely remember that for my next job. Such bright colors on the 'new' trailer, but it is really coming together. Nice roof work, the last bit along the roof line turned out great too! Love the weekly updates! Keep up the amazing and hard work you guys!!
Nature abhors bare soil.the volunteers are always trying to correct that. And like always the problem is the solution. Grind all that plant matter and mulch the pathways.
The inside of the trailer looks much nicer than the outside, the multi-colored panels look like an alien element in the environment, as for me, if the trailer was covered with wood on the outside, the trailer would look great.
This door bird: Such a nice, little but very useful modeling of a function. Awesome, felt in love with it asap. The trailor looks soooo great (You know i dont like this patchwork color...but still:) inside as outside. Fantastic job, hui!
I am surprised that the pig trailer was not given a "shed" or slanted roof. It would have made a great way to shed water into a cistern or rain barrel. Not a criticism--I think the work done was outstanding! Love the little bird on the outhouse!
I know - I look at this and think "why wouldn't you maintain it a little at a time, rather than let it become a gigantic task?". Whatever. I don't live there.
i love the whimsical artistic touch with the toilet lock! I wish i could be a resident artist in a little community like this. Every community needs an artist!
Hey good afternoon you guys I hope you guys are having a wonderful day and God bless you guys and have a good time out there just be careful nobody gets hurt all right can you speak God bless you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It would be interesting to hear about how you've incorporated safety elements into your living spaces and around the camp, such as smoke alarms, GFCI outlets, etc.
Clearing the vegetation down the stream of the dam is making water flow faster. It is not helping the water preservation and water table in the area. In permaculture, it would preferable to slow the water and let it stay longer. So building even more dams would be better and would stop water erosion.
My favorite videos are the ones where you show us more than one project. Well, actually I occasionally like the 'dedicated to a single project' ones too. For me the mix would be something like 1 out of 10 videos on 'challenges', 1-2 out of 10 on "Kamp life" and the people & rhythms of things, 1 out of 10 involving the neighbors and local community that Project Kamp is located amoung, at that point maybe I'd actually like 50/50 between 'multi project' & 'single project'. Not that it will stop me from watching. I just found you a few weeks ago - but I went back to the very first video and now have watched all 103. I'm quite aware that I am just one person and you have over half a million subscribers - so it's not at all about me! ....But still, I wanted to share my particular view. I really appreciate all the work everyone there puts in, in order to provide the videos!!!! Thank You Project Kamp!
Guys! music is always amazing but this time who ever is responsible for the music in videos out did himself. Love the music so much! Sometimes I’m watching those videos just for the music in them! love it ❤❤
Wonder if there are enough loose flagstones that you could create a stone path to walk on to the lagoon? Looks like you could use a scaffold too, rather than having to go up and down a ladder constantly.
Solar roof vent fan for the toilet. Birdie feeding, toilet occupied. Pig trailer house almost complete. Needs a new name. Colored home, gym house, court house or home, orchard house (exterior colors of fruit trees - apple, pear, peach, grapes, fig, pomegranate, orange, lemons, etc) . Hoping you add light colored paint or finish to differentiate the interior walls from the floor. Heat for winter. Shading for summer. Local power and water collection maybe. Need a nearby well, toilet, entertainment deck areas. Surround with planted indigenous trees or fruit trees or create an orchard.
The bird lock is very creative. I do feel a bit of pain on using the planer to create a flat surface. Also for hygienic, durability I would recommend to debark any wood you use. It either will fall off when the wood dries. (So protective measures can only be half done) or to much dirt will stick in the bark cavity. Also and this is just a aesthetic choice. The feeder I would connect with a duvel from the back so the screw, 1 doesn't speed up the rusting proces. 2 by hiding the connector it won't break the immersion of the feeder. Further loving the creativity!
You can easily remove those climbing plants if you cut the branch just above the ground a few weeks before you want to remove them. And the toilet lock is nicccce! Really a well thought out design, i like that.
I love format of different projects it totally takes on the title of an update. I would love to see a wrap up/ review of all the different projects that you guys completed over the year.
Rather than hacking the canes, a pull a long winch is a handy tool, use the biggest tree to winch out roots, i have use a large ratchet strap before, looking great guys.. keep up the good work..
Great Job on the lagoon. I am not sure what is upstream but if you could run some pipe with a intake from further upstream and let it pour into the lagoon from a height you can help oxygenate the lagoon water. Good Luck.
