May I suggest an episode on EXOSOMES?! These stem cell derived molecules are the biggest skincare product promise in the last 5 years. The before and afters are insane for over the counter products but should we trust this ingredient? 🤔

Speaking of exosomes, have they covered DNA repair enzymes?

that's been on our back burner for awhile... but since it keeps coming up, we'll bump it up the list!

One note (which they apologized for after the launch) is that the Geek & Gorgeous aPAD formula contains 20% AZECLAIR--not straight PAD. The actual percentage of PAD is 6% in the formula. Obviously, a lot of people were confused about this at first, and companies struggle with communicating "complex" percentages vs. "ingredient" percentages all the time. And I know I've said it before, but the Peach Slices AA serum is much more pleasant to use than most (for anyone struggling with the texture of other AA products).

I would love an episode on ginseng! just found yall and this is totally up my alley- also i believe the geek and gorgeous has 20% of azclair which is a complex with PAD in it. i believe the real percentage is 6%

Thank you for this! I know you feel a bit iffy sharing about actives/ingredients where there just isn't much (good) data, but honestly... for me it's useful to hear. Even if all you can say is "we just don't know yet"! Because often the kinds of questions I have are very very basic, like: Do we currently know anything about whether this is actually effective for anything? Is there good reason to believe this will do something? Or nah? If the answer is "right now we know next to nothing" I want to know that! :D So I hope you continue to share this kind of info, even if it's just in short format or whatever.

thanks for the words of encouragement! we'll definitely continue look into ingredients people are curious about - even if the data's very meh :)

I didn't know that the study for PAD isn't really that promising. This azelaic acid derivative is very popular here in the Philippines. They do add it in toners, soap, lotion and serums. I've tried it myself with niacinamide serum it's very effective in brightening the skin but not much in oil control and acne.

thanks for sharing your experience! we had no idea it's a popular ingredient in the philippines :) glad it works well for you we'll say... even though the studies are kind of meh... we have experience with derivatives with NO studies whatsoever. so still generally speaking a good sign!

Since you're delving into TXA, have you come across the K-beauty product from Anua, niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% serum? I'd also like to see something on astaxanthin that's supposedly so many times more powerful than ascorbic acid.

ahh we haven't looked at that anua product. astaxanthin is on our to do list when we get back to our antioxidant series!

Azelaic Acid works very well with my skin. I tried the G&G aPAD serum and did not see any benefits. I was using Facetheory Lumizela A15, a 15% Azelaic Acid serum, and love it. However, they no longer ship this to the US. 10% which is available, does not work as well for me. I can't get an appointment with a Dermatologist till September to get the Rx for the 15% gel.
