I feel your struggle Julie! My dear mother sews, made my clothes as a little girl, (only child perk I suppose) so talented🥰 Long story short when my girls were 2 and almost 5 (only grandchildren, again a perk) she wanted to make their Easter outfits, dresses bonnets and handbags, the works. I had to choose the pattern style, the fabric, the ribbons the buttons and zippers...my word the choices were endless!!! It took me over 5 hours in the store and I was still unsure if I had chosen the best😬 Well, they turned out lovely, I’ve got the cutest Easter pictures . My little ones decked out in their Grandma made outfits with live bunnies and chicks...just adorable!! She retired my role as designer though, lol. My youngest daughter is an over thinker too...but I’m not as talented as my dear mother so I doubt I’ll ever have to deal with that particular issue... there will surely be others🤣 Your bowl is beautiful!! I think you made the perfect choice!! 🍁 would be gorgeous at Thanksgiving!! Good job Julie😍

you could heat it with a heat gun on low, warm the resin up a bit and it'll bend a little easier. Also Silicone on your bowl/platter would work instead of the plastic to avoid possible wrinkles. but still, it came out beautifully!!!

Ive veen working with resin for a little over a year. So not an expert by any means lol. But when i first started, i was given tips about how to think about things inverted. What i mean is, 90% of the time i pour, i pour into a mold with the intent of the front of the piece, being at the bottom. Like when you do your flowers and you turn them around and see the blooms and thats the front side. The only time i pour where the pour-side is the top, is for things like trays -if im adding handles right away- or its a top coat. Now, art is different for everyone and thats obviously not the only way to do things when it comes to resin! Your coaster has proven that the pour side can also be the top side. But i mention this only bc it might help when you're planning a project, to consider it inverted. Consider which side you want facing which way before hand because we all know how quickly resin starts to set up. Just so that you can work out the little details in your head and whether or not you want certain things to face a certain way. This all being said, this is beautiful and i enjoy all of your videos. Mostly here for the resin but i do watch certain acrylic pours as I've become quite fascinated with that as well. Hugs!

I do not think the underside of the leaves are ugly. They just do not have the glitter. Maybe mixing them would have been nice. Some upright, some turned over. Then you would have had some glitter showing from both sides. But, I think it would be beautiful no matter. Those are really beautiful leaves. This would be so nice to display for Halloween and then through Thanksgiving. So you could set it out all through the fall season. Beautiful.

When u do these and the vases I think u should use molds that match the shape of what your making. If your making a platter use a platter not a bowl or if your making a vase use a vase and not a pole or a cup so there’s no weird overhang

This is stunning!! If you put the leaves in face down when dry, they will hold a lot of bubbles because of the way they are cupped. You might want to saturate them with resin, then place them face down, so the bubbles will slide out easier than if the leaves were dry. If you love gold/copper/silver, paint the edges of the leaves with a little bit of metallic paint on a fingertip and dry before you use them in the mold!!

That would be pretty with a clear brown glitter background. Those leaves remind me of a soft yellow bowl with gold flakes in it and some green fern leaves in it scattered throughout. My grandma had that bowl forever. She used it all the time.

Ok, I got an epiphany. What if you buy two bowls. One the size you want the inside of the bowl to be and buy one same shape and quite a bit larger, then you can place the largest bowl over the small bowl and resin piece to keep it down and shaped? Just a thought. Love, love, love your bowl. It is beautiful. Way to go!!🌻👍

Absolutely stunning. The colors are gorgeous. You kept playing with it and being indecisive that I was so fearful it was going to set up more and you would be unable to do what you wanted. When leaves fall they do not all fall right side up. The next one you do perhaps you can mix them up, some right side up and some upside down. I personally think both sides of the leaves are beautiful. You have two platters, lay it in the bigger platter, put another layer of plastic and then the smaller platter on top and weight it down with something that is not too heavy so it won't leave indentations but keep some pressure on it to give it the shape that you want. What do you think?. ❤😺❤🤗

It's odd that apparently, we in the States can't get these leaves (unless shipped from Australia) but we can get an abundance of maple leaves. Anyway, this is stunning! Very inspiring stuff! I ordered several autumn garlands with an eye to strip them now. 😀😄😁😆😅😂🤣

Since it was a little stiff when she tried to shape it, I wonder if she could have warmed it with a hair dryer or heat gun on low temp, to make it a bit more ply able? I don't know if that would have affected the curing process. Never mind. I saw, after I wrote my comment that Lsurah also suggested a heat gun on low. So I guess people have done that. I thought I had read somewhere that you can use heat to soften if necessary. I really love the color of those leave. But, for me, fall is one of my favorite times because I am partial to the hot colors like oranges, yellows and reds. I am going to have to see if I can find those leaves!
