It's a good question and one I actually get fairly often. To produce the highest quality wrestling content in the world, I use a cinematic workflow. By that I mean I use a lot of the same equipment and software that film studios use to produce the $100M movies we see at theaters. Unlike film studios, though, which can afford to hire multiple camera operators, video editors, certified colorists, audio engineers, etc., I'm a one-clown operation doing the work of dozens of people, and that takes time. For example, if I catch 100 matches at one tournament, and I have enough time to edit, color, engineer, and publish one match per day, that means it will take 100 days to post all the matches from that tournament. In those 100 days, I may have filmed 10 other tournaments, and if each of those tournaments had another 100 matches, that means 1,000 matches just got added to the backlog while I was still working on the first tournament. When I first started the channel, I was posting current matches because there was no backlog. But then the backlog grew to 6 months, and then 1 year, and now it's 2+ years and growing because there are more matches being filmed than there is time available to produce them. In order to be fair to everyone, my usual policy is to post matches in the order I film them, one tournament at a time. But I usually honor requests from athletes, parents, or coaches to pull forward a match to the front of the line as long as it's reasonable (for example, recruitment purposes). Right now, I'm working on matches from the 2021 Flavin. Hello. So I have a question for you relating to high-school wrestling. I know you know way more than I do so maybe you can help out, maybe not. My son is in 8th grade, going to be a freshman in wisconsin next year. He has a youtube channel where he posts his matches. He is eligible to monetize his channel now. In Wisconsin the rule is a kid cannot make money off of the sport he plays. Which I understand for recruiting purposes, but for a youtube channel I think is silly. So my question is, if the channel is in my name can I make money from the channel? If you don't know about this sort of rules I understand, I'm just trying to get a jump on it and get ahead of it. Thanks.
Very interesting question! I'm extremely curious to know the answer myself. Modern social media creates all sorts of nuanced and complicated issues that state athletic associates never had to deal with before. I'm really glad you're working to get ahead of this because I've seen too many kids get their hopes crushed when they find out they've been disqualified for any number or reasons. I did some digging on the WIAA website and based on what I found, I would strongly recommend sending an email to Stephanie Houser and copy Mel Dow and ask this question. They may not have the answer themselves, but they should at least be able to connect you with the right person. The reason I recommend email instead of calling is because you're definitely going to want the answer in writing just to be on the safe side. Good luck! @MidwestWrestle Thanks, I will put together an email this evening for sure. And yeah, talk about broken heart. Sir my son is one of the few kids I know who has wrestled for six years and never once shed a tear, but he trains so hard year round and my guess would ball like a baby if he lost wrestling, even for a year. Seriously. Yeah, him and I talked at length when he started youtube, and he has always said, wrestling first, youtube is way down the list. But again, thank you very much.

Age or gender doesn't really matter too much, what counts is the weight. That's why the recorded videos often carry U12, U16 and so on in their names. 😉
