Mr. Duck BOB was the perfect man. I know a lot of people won't see it, but he was smarty, kind, loving, cared about his relationships, and ultimately brave. He was the kind of man who will get up every day and goes to a job that isn't exciting, but does it to do the right thing for his family. And when push comes to shove, he will always do the right thing.
fun fact: there is a parallel between stephen king's IT and ST season two chapter nine. Finn Wolfhard says the line, "Holy shit, what happened to you?" In both productions. He first says the line when the Losers' Club is introduced to Ben Hanscom @ the sewers. The second time, (spoilers) he says the line when he see's Dustin with his new hair @ the Snow Ball.
*i'm i the only one who wishes to be an actor in stranger things and be great friends with the cast ?* Edit: 2 years later and i just found out that my comment has 1.8k likes :D
I can't even begin to say how i adore the main characters of this show. Maybe it's because the 4 guys all remember me so much about the best friend i had at that age, it's like i see him in half of the screentime. He was imaginative and sensitive like Will, funny and a lovely kind of overdramatic like Lucas, curious and food-lover like Dustin, loyal and caring like Mike, and he was called the italian version of this name too. We were bullied and regarded as nerds just like the boys from ST. He is where M/F friendship started meaning a lot to me, and it still does now that i am 30. There was no friendzone, it was 100% an actual friendship. One day our mutual close friend came to us and said that at school there was a lot of talking about us, that we must be in love with each other and we should be together. We easily set things straight: "Hey, do you actually think that we should be together?" "Not really, i like what we have. What about you? Have you ever thought that you wanted to kiss me or something?" "Actually no. Are you fine with that?" "Yes, completely. Shall we go back to our Pokemon cards?" "Sure!" We were close friends from the age of 3 to 15 and i just cannot recall one single bad memory involving him.
I got a spanish ad for McDonalds chicken nuggets before the video. Lol I know that has nothing to do with stranger things but I just wanted to say that.
If you're on mobile, you see three dots on the right side of the video, where you would put the captions on, there's also setting for the speed, slow down the video
By the way, the Duffes have also cited The Last of Us as an inspiration, which could explain why the Demogorgon looks a lot like the Clickers but mostly (Season 2 spoilers ahead) it makes A LOT of sense when you consider Hoppers and Eleven relationship in Season 2, which is pretty similar to Joel and Ellie in TLOU (girl who is special and needs to be protected, grumpy dude who becomes somewhat of a father figure to her even though it is a difficult relationship for him because he lost his own daughter in the past).
At first I didn't like him, but when you see how protective he is towards Eleven and Wills mother you can't help but come to love him. When he was blasting Demodogs to protect Eleven he was so cool.
Yes! I put on my shirt this morning and looked in the mirror, it was inside out ...next thing a Mind Flayer attached a tentacle to my head and sucked my brain out, Luckily the postman knocked twice and I was able to escape..phew! Never again always check the label!
I agree. He speaks so fast that his words run together and I can’t understand him at certain points in the video. His diction isn’t great as well which makes it hard to understand him. Luckily with some vocal exercises these things can be fixed, I know from experience lol. It’s common in a lot of people
Well, I now know Eleven's new name is Jane (haven't watched the second season yet at the point I wrote the commentary) and I know the kids call her El. But I still don't know what that changes...
jaime ruiz Elfen Lied was only a comparison (that was even in the facts here, since the makers of Stranger Things actually got influence from that anime). I could have also said "Carrie" which is another great example of a badass telekinesis user in a non-animated movie.
Just so you know, the concept of demogorgon was around long before d&d endorsed it. It has been referenced in multiple, older texts(I think moby dick is an example). Also, it's just "Demogorgon". No "the". To clarify, I'm talking about the two-headed-demon demogorgon, not the petal-headed monster of the same name
I'm pretty proud that I made it 10 minutes but had to stop there...listening to a person "Sprint Talk," at me was beginning to feel like actual torture.
Another 80s reference. It hit me the other day. The classic movie 'Predator'. The first person the predator kills is named Hawkins. More obviously, remember the dog tags that Schwarzenegger's team found. They were from another special ops team and the guys name...Jim Hopper.
Mya Ayoub, It was so sad. I wish I had a dad like him. Also I grew up with LOTR and the Goonies, so I have this attachment to Sean Astin. I met him a few years ago at Denver Comic Con.
The Herobrinenyan Bob's death scene tho Joyce and him just stood and stared at each other while DEMOGORGONS ARE BEHIND THE DOOR I WAS SCREAMING MOOOVEE YOU DONKS!!!! And then he gets eaten by a demogorgon WOW BOB JUST WOW!
screeno the A.I “ G’day my name is Dustin Henderson and do you eat kangaroos for breakfast?” I think the line was something like that ( I have problems when it comes to stranger things.. I have memorized an episode) (major problems(
David harbour playing hopper was my fav by far. I also thought that Steve Harrington made the biggest transformation. I actually ended up liking him a lot at the end.
Stranger Things reminds me of several movies/shows The Goonies, Morgan, Elfen Lied, Carrie, Firestarter, Poltergeist, Xtro, Alien, Predator, Watchers, The Gate, Stand By Me, X-Files, It, Silent Hill, Silver Bullet, Lost Boys and Super 8 (there's more) anyway, can't wait for season 3.
You did a really good job putting this all together. I am getting older now (30) and stopped watching new shows until Stranger Things came out. Half way into the first season it became my favorite show of all time and has me legitimately impatient on waiting for new seasons. So damn good.
It wasn't "some of the younger actors were afraid of the demogorgon", it was just the twins who played Holly Wheeler. And in that part, why did it show the teenagers freaking out?
Lolz the hat thing with Hopper and Indiana Jones reminded me that in "The Lost Ark", Indiana takes his hat before the door closes in the temple, and In Stranger Things 2, Hopper takes his hat before he escapes the Upside Down vine thing
What I'm confused about is that the idea was that if you kill the brain (big grey monster) the demo dogs would die but e big monster didn't die but the demo hogs did any way.
The confusion will maybe clear up as we get still more of the story in Season 3. I say --Eleven closed the gate, which doesn't kill the big monster, it's just stuck in the underworld, and maybe the demodogs lost connection to their "LifeLine" when the gate is closed.
My money is on the fact that the connection between our world and the upside down was severed so their connection to the mind flayer was gone and they died because of that, however Dart stayed in the upside down so he's possibly alive still.
Dude, I just watched this video and immediately went I KNEW IT!!! to all of my friends because when we binge watched it together I kept saying it reminded me a lot of Elfen Lied.
