this is the best live video that i know of from the original 4+1 lineup. i was disappointed in the low quality represented here on RU-vid. so i decided to source the best copy i could find and upload it in its entirety.
notes: i did a very subtle remaster on the audio. during Rubber Bullets, you'll notice that the video will occasionally transition to 2x2 squares. this was necessary to get past RU-vid's censors.
enjoy!

Sometimes life happens to have a funny way of introducing us to new things. I’d never heard of 10cc until a few weeks ago although I did recognise a few of their most famous songs when the penny dropped that they were the artists behind them. It was in Manchester airport where I first heard Rubber Bullets and it just gripped me straight away. I’m only 19 and have always been musically inclined, from just that one listen over the speakers in an airport restaurant, I could tell there was something that set this band apart from all the others. I’m so glad I researched them to actually find their music and thank the lord we have the technology we do today otherwise I’d never have found them.

Not enough is said about their amazing lyrics; I mean, "I'm Not In Love" has got to be one of the greatest love songs ever written. What's more powerful than self-denial when it comes to being in love? And it's told in such a humorous, non-sentimental way--it's pure genius. Who writes like this anymore?? !0cc were a class apart in the early to mid seventies; they wrote inventive and memorable pop songs with witty lyrics and harmonized to great effect, particularly on "I'm not in Love:", when the Lol Creme's gizmo was first used. After the split Godley and Creme went from strength to strength with the experimental "Consequences" , which featured Peter Cook's improvisations and honey-voiced Kevin Godley's incredible duet with Sarah Vaughan (!), "Lost Weekend". I remember their follow up "L" and used to play that endlessly. The remainder of 10cc persevered but paled in comparison, although they did churn out a few more hit singles, "Dreadlock Holiday", to name bu tone. Hearing this concert, I feel they were more at home in the studio than live.

But still well worth having! considering that most stuff today is utter tripe when you hold it to the light. This band and their music history will outlive most of us in any one lifetime.
