In this video, Gregory shows the topology of the 10GHz Microwave Signal Source that is being designed int the channel.
This signal source will generate a stable frequency 10GHz frequency, in the microwave band X, using discrete components and microstrip design.

Nice project Greg, I'll keep an eye on it. I would like to start with RF designs, but its pretty expensive the gear and hard to find good second hand ones here in Brazil.. you know the thrill.

Hello Gregory, I love your channel and your way of explaining microwaves, I am a radio amateur and I am starting out in the exciting world of microwaves. I am interested in your digital wattmeter, where I can get the information to set up one for my shack. Thank you so much

What did the prescalers do to you? Did they steal the girl you like or something? Just kidding, great content as always, I'm really looking forward to it, especially the sampler seems like a very intersting part to design. I find the 10GHz range to be pretty hard to prototype, since 1mm of error in a dimension is quite significant already. Also the dielectric losses of FR4 get pretty high pretty quick. You can get pretty good parts and boards by tearing apart LNBs, especially the older ones, since they operate at roughly the frequency you want. Greetings, Michael

Hahahahaha prescalers are the easy way!! Yep.. I don't know if 10gig will work on FR4.. But the BPF transistor has a lot of gain I'm seeing packs of 15 LNBs new very cheap.. is it worth to buy for parts? It's like $2 USD each
@gammaleader96
@gammaleader96 2 года назад
@@AllElectronicsChannel I don't think a pack of 15 LNBs is really necessary but one or two to take a look at are pretty nice in my opinion. But keep in mind that the modern types are not as interesting as the older ones.

Regarding the need to down-tune the quartz a bit - would it have helped if you started the design with a 33 MHz oscillator instead?

awesome project. totally with you on not using pre-scaler, that's for cheaters ;-) (i'm kidding of course) using sampler is how 'real' designers got around with this. you can see a similar thing in many high end spectrum analyzers. looking forward to see next video

@@AllElectronicsChannel Joking aside, was wondering at what point do you need to use classified semiconductor technology to generate it. It must be in the 300 GHz range for sure. I wanted to see if you could make 95 GHz because that is used to heat the outer layer of the skin in this microwave anti personal device. I suppose using a frequency doubler or tripler is in the cards because you can probably find a VCO that puts out 30-33 GHz. Problem is that circuit will have to proactively be built on top of itself in a 3d-like manner. Regular coax isn’t going to work either.
