Nikol, I have to sing your praises for turning me onto the L'oreal Lumi Glotion! It is brilliant! Literally, ha! I use it all over my face, mixed with blush and as highlighter. It moisturizes and has my 75 year old mug looking alive and healthy. Really, it's a wonderful product at a great price no less. You have also tempted me to try the Kjaer Weis eye balm and a few other products that I have to save my pennies to afford - but, if you say they are worth the investment, girlfriend, than I'm gonna get my hands on them! Thanks for all your great advice and attention to we "more mature" members of the world, we are still interested in appearing as attractive and as energetic participants of society.
OMG this is what I need! In 2019 I caught a real good glimpse of my skin about 8 months into widowhood and my skin looked so drained. No color, kind of flat looking for lack of a better description. Stress grief, poor eating/ no eating that led to a 32 pound weight loss in 2-1/2 months plus crying an ocean of tears took a big toll. Diet and stress really affected my skin more than I thought it could. I still havent been able to get my skin the way I want it to look but this could help. So glad you show all these different products since I’m pretty uninformed about beauty things in general.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I am totally with you that grief and stress take a real toll on your face. I've aged a thousand years in the last few. Right now, I'm just trying to make myself feel better when I look in the mirror. I don't go out much, and I wear a mask when I do, but those Zoom calls can be killers when you have to look at yourself online.
Ladies, I’m so sorry to learn that you’re grieving. That stage awaits me, I’m afraid. But I had breast cancer surgery at 60, plus long-lasting treatments for the last ten years. Comparing myself at 60 and 70 is shocking. I blithely assumed that once the tumours were removed, I could resume my normal life. But that isn’t so. All the meds affect all of my body, and pain doesn’t half give you wrinkles! So Glotion here I come! Do your magic! Ladies, we’ll be our old gorgeous selves in a jiffy. Take care, lovelies 💕💕
I have used the L’Oreal Glotion! I love that you do too! I love minimal make up. I’ve always enjoyed make up and at 75, everything falls into lines and wrinkles. “Less is more” for me lately. HELP! Loved that you said it is not too late. I'm 78 and suddenly have cheek wrinkles. Pretty deep. How do I hide them....at least a little, (yeah right) or just accept and be grateful I have made it this far. Lol

I LOVE my Lumi Glowtion!!! My 2 favorite ways to use it: 1. Apply all over as a primer under my Pur powder foundation! 2. Add to a non-luminous foundation (1/2 or less Lumi to foundation), mix on the back of my hand, then apply foundation as usual!
Just purchased this wonderful product last week and it really is amazing!!! I have the light and I will be getting the darker shade soon!!! Btw…. I am 75!

I love this product. I have been using it for about a year and it finally gives me the glow I have always seen on others but could not achieve. It even works under Estée Lauder's Double Wear foundation.
Love Loreal products their mascara is great. I'll try this because i do minimal makeup.... i now wear light foundation powder, as I have tiny liver spots.....I'll try this. **Your are gorgeous, with hardly any make up and your hair always looks great**

Nikol, I SO appreciate the minimalist look with AFFORDABLE products. As a younger woman I bought and used all high end/ beautifully formulated cosmetics but at 70 and on fixed income I really appreciate your reviews on more affordable lines. Drug Store cosmetics have come so far since I started using make up (55+ yrs !) and I am sold on this dewy palette! Thanks again.
Your hair is stunning! So full and healthy looking… I air dry as well but mid way like when it’s half dry, blow it with the cool button and it will seal the hair cuticles and your hair will be more manageable as opposed to a regular air dry
I absolutely love you in that warm coral color.... I cant wait to try this look! I have stage 4 kidney disease and I look sick... and I hate it... I'm huge on skin care, and rarely wear makeup unless leaving the house. I see some hope for actually looking alive again! Thank you Nikol! I so appreciate what you share!

Hi, Nikol! A couple of years ago, I tried a primer from Pixie, not realizing it was glowingly tinted. I put a generous amount on, looked in the mirror and freaked! I was at my granddaughters for her baby shower and time was short; ladies were arriving, my hands were shaking! Washed my face and all was well!
I come from the school of thought that less is more. Don’t hide behind makeup. I love, love, love seeing real skin with some flaws. Love seeing womens beauty enhanced and not hidden. 💖💖💖💖💖💋And a red lip is never a bad thing❣️💋💋💋

This is one of my fav of your videos, so fresh looking and affordable. Nikol, your hair looks good air dry; I live in a humid climate too; would you please do an affordable drugstore hair video. I do use the Pantene rose sulfate free and conditioner that you suggested in the past. Much appreciated.I use the Loreal Elvive 8 Second Wonder Water once a week, it's amazing! I can relate. I too am 78. I have diplomas from two different modeling schools, one from when I was in my 20s and then in my later 40s. I know how to take care of my skin but life prevails in spots appear overnight in a crease here and there just appears out of nowhere and then pretty soon you got a deal with it. But I’m very fortunate that I have the training and incredibly great skin. I love Nikol Johnson and look forward to her every video.

I like it ...I have half the hair and living in humidity .pointless to blow dry ...got it layered ..scrunch and go..at 66 you cannot blow dry ..I use lumi on sides of face ..too oily. Godspeed Dee

@Debra Barycki, thanks for this tip. I’ve found my Bare Escentuals too dry-looking now, so will try my Liz Earle sheer gold shimmer underneath, until they’re all used up. Then I’ll embrace Nikol’s range and recommendations.

@@belindacinca7275 It has a slight, plain lotion smell and I don't notice it putting it on or wearing it. I sneeze w/ fragrances and this does not bother me. I am fair and got 902 light and you can see the sunkissed glo. Hope this helps! If not, please ask again!!!
This was a great video, Nikol! At 63, I’m really into minimal but impactful makeup. It’s what looks best on me at this phase of life, and I love how easy and less time consuming it is! Also, cream products are definitely where it’s at for my mature skin. The switch from powder to cream eyeshadow, blush, and highlighter made all the difference in the world. Literally took years off the appearance of my skin! Thank you for showcasing great products be they high or low end!

I haven’t tried the Lumi, but I have tried the Merit micro/mini 🤣 blush. I wasn’t a fan of the blush it was a bit too subtle for me and I think the pigments just aren’t great. I’m curious about the Chanel stick blush. It looks so fresh and simple. I personally prefer just applying my foundation lighter when I want a fresher look then adding a cream blush with those stick pencils. Would love to know how you liked the Trinny London pot shadow, she’s got quite the line of products now with some beautiful colors.
I like the Trinny London eye creams but the pot drives me nuts. I can’t get my finger in properly, it gets under my nails and I don’t like using a brush. Would have preferred this formula to be in a stick for easy application.
@@NikolJohnson and that’s precisely why I’ve not tried Trinny’s range. If the pots were wider and flatter, I could get brushes in! But those colours are divine 😍
Hi Nikol. I'm curious since you have such cool tone features, especially your gray hair if you ever do a cool tone make-up look with cool tone shadows? I always see you use warm tones like beige and brown which I think looks very odd with your hair and skin coloring. I would love to see what you look like in a total cool tone make-up look.
I don’t have rules on what I can or can’t wear plus as a content creator I want my audience to see a range not just cool colors. I wear bottled blonde our number one selling eyeshadow palette non stop and it’s a cool tone palette. Or if I want a matte I wear Rewrite the Rules which is a cool gray palette.
@@NikolJohnson You're preaching to the choir, as I have never been a follower either and certainly do my own thing when it comes to make-up. I wasn't suggesting you stick to any rules Nikol and wasn't being negative in any way, but rather wondering if you ever do looks with other brighter cool tone colors like in the purple/green family? I think that would look stunning with your brown eyes and grey hair! I don't see anything offered in your eyeshadow palettes on your website in those colors, so perhaps they are not in your wheelhouse. Hope you have a wonderful, blessed day!

You have a massive head of hair! I love it!! You make me laugh. “ disco ball”. Have you made a video on covering up age spots; annoying freckles? Sometimes, I can cover them and later the makeup fades away and these things come popping out. Ugh ….. love your videos and tips💕

Just a reminder, bronzer is not the same thing as contour; Different color base. True contour color looks more like a grayish shadow or a depression or recess in the skin (like a cheek bone or other areas you want to thin out). Bronzer is more of a tanned from the sun color. I really love this look, and living in the SoCal desert, where the temperature hovers around 100 degrees for weeks on end, I often can't do more than this without everything sliding off my face (and who would want to anyway in that heat?). I'm excited to try both of the L'Oreal products. I've been a big fan of the Trinny London line since she first launched. Her eye shadows are the best of all her products, I think, especially for mature skin. Update: I bought the Lumi Glotion and love it. Even in the light shade it's a bit much by itself unless I have more of a tan, so I mix it with my face moisturizer before applying it to dilute it a little. It gave me a really nice look recently for a video call, where I always think my face looks so tired.
I’m 63 and my hair is certainly not as thick as it once was. I see you had a beautiful head of hair so that’s not a problem for you. I love that Lumi product. I’m going to have to purchase! The glow is amazing. I’m thinking I can mix a little with my foundation even if it’s in strategic areas. Quick and easy. I love it. I bought this after seeing your video. I used only a tiny dot on each section of my face and then blended it. I just looked shiny! I put my CC cream over it and had to powder my whole face. Any ideas?
