portrait casting is severely underrated. can also use it to draw creep aggro ridiculously easy or to reliably target specific heroes inside clouds of illusions/zoo
a lot of people don't abuse this portrait click thing. even if its not mk and just checking if, lets say, the enemy earthshaker has his blink already. or if an enemy carry has a bkb before you and your allies take a fight. i do this all the time when i see an enemy building towards bkb
Yup, it is great to quickly check items and also to cast abilities in certain situations, for example if you are Dazzle playing with PL and you are trying to cast Shallow Grave, but he is in the middle of a huge stack of illusions.
