I spent just 3 days training with Hokama Sensei during my visit to Okinawa earlier this month. It was an experience I will never forget. He has left a permanent mark on my practice of Karate and how I approach so much of life now. I hope to see him again someday. This video brought back such happy feelings to hear his wisdom.
One of the greatest gifts in life is to sit and listen to the teachings that come from a lifetime of lessons learnt. Those who remain humble, provide kindness and share knowledge , never become older, but rather, become wiser. A wonderfull interview with a brilliant, wise man. Thank you Jesse 🙏
Wonderful, inspiring interview from a 10th Dan. I just want to thank you, Jesse, for everything that you do for the world of karate. Your videos and articles inspire me every day and energize me throughout my own karate journey. With your mentality, skills, and love for the art, I know you will ultimately be one of the best karatekas ever. ❤️
What an amazing opportunity to be able to watch your Q&A with such an enriched karate practitioner. It is such a great thing you are doing Jesse sharing your your experiences, and bridging the gaps between all levels of karate knowledge. When would we ever get a chance to speak with a 10th Don in such a relaxed setting. You are an amazing part of the Karate world, a true innovator of the arts. Thank you to Dr. Tetsuhiro 🙏, and many thanks to you Jesse 🙏
I gotta say Jesse, I do take a different kind of martial arts that's Korean-style. But your martial art videos really did help me with some connection to my martial art classes, skill fight moves and uniform. Thanks a lot dude, and keep up the great sport workout. I also wish I can practice with your mom, too. :)
Jesse Enkamp, when you posted your first video, would you mind that your channel could arrives in different part of the world like this? It's fantastic to see people came from many parts of world sending questions to interview... Congratulations Jesse, I learn a lot with your videos... Muito obrigado Sensei from Brazil...
Very good to hear some of Hokama sensei's thoughts, I'm sharing this with my students! (BTW his last name is Hokama, description has his names reversed).
Thank you so much i really like Tetsuhiro sensei! In his videos hes always smiling and happy like found meaning of life and give you inspiration in every possible positive way :)
Wow. I had to divide this interview into two sessions to think about Hokama Sensei answers because sometimes it´s a bit difficult to properly understand the depth. I feel like there are a lot of level one questions getting master level answers. Quite demanding on the listener but lots and lots of information/knowledge when you give it a lot of thought.
Just done straining it was really fun btw I Learn the kata called bassai dai it was really fun And look I'm now a green belt because of sensei Jesse in the future I hope I can go visit/train in some country thanks sensei Jesse ossu
What an inspiring interview. Our bodies are a creation of intelligent design with spiritual energy with in it connected with the universe. Throughout the centuries cultures have been finding ways to control this energy. Us as humans to design such a thing as karate or martial arts is a great revolution to connect with that spiritual energy with in us. Be more aware of one's self to connect with our creator. We are made in our creator's image. I like a belt system that you have to work towards on your own progression. Breaks it down into steps so you know what to work on next and builds on the next move. It's good to keep on practicing everything you learn from each belt. This is your fight with your self one has have to be motivated to practice every day. Just like anything you want to get good at. To even make it to the Olympics or any other thing you wish to achieve. I love that you enjoy what you do you make your dreams possible. Nice to still have inspiring people like you with a purpose on this planet.
Hello Jesse! i was wondering to ask a question... what do you think about a kempo artist named Kyoshi Brent Crisci? he studies yoshi sono jiu jitsu and also kosho ryu kempo he has 30 years of experience... but he also has another mix of kick boxing and some combat jiu jitsu he lives in Augusta Maine and been doing it for awhile! i also have had prior martial arts experience but i don't know if i can trust it... any comments?
