This cube is absolutely great in its own right, but it just has so many problems just like Yiheng Wang's 2x2 avg. I got so frustrated on the last solve, I called it the Tornado v2.
First of all, it's quality control. I've had magnets from the corner stocks pop out (second batch cubes) and I had to superglue them down. Adding more, the magnets in the corners pop out too if you are absolutely unlucky (specifically first batch cubes). I have cores breaking as well, due to it being split piece design. Not to mention, the clicky magnets in the edges as well.
Secondly, the cube in the Pioneer version is just trying so damn hard to be a GAN cube in many different ways. The tensioning system is great, but there are no good settings. You have choices where the cube is stable, but too damn slow. Or the cube is fast but catches way too damn much. You can never find any good settings.
Third and lastly, the cube itself moves on its own sometimes, and fingertricks just go all over the place. This is due to it being maglev, and with this cube, I'll never use a maglev cube again.
But enough negatives, there are some good things this piece of plastic has to offer, an easy system for tensioning, changing magnet strengths, and you can make it feel how ever you want.
Over all, this cube is not for me and may be suited for someone else.
But from this cube, I'll never buy another QiYi product.
