This is the best overview I've seen. Most videos I find are 20+ minutes and are more or less "how to make your brush bigger or smaller :)" and then jumping to "I just did a 15 step piece where I don't explain how I got here"

I'm a comics artist and use Vector Layers for all my inking. You can't Fill on a Vector Layer, but Reference Layers and "Area Scaling" help ease the minor inconvenience. ("Fill up to Vector Path" also helps immensely, especially when coloring.) Great video, Maddie! I'm sub'ing.

It also has a tooon of time-saving things for comic artists, since it was originally designed for them. The thing where you moved the vector lines by painting over them, was perfection

It does the same for me. It's not perfect and it's not meant as the final coloring.

Nothing bothers some artists in regards to fill tools more than when they still see other artists make art without filling in the white infilled areas like corners and the edges you mentioned

CSP is a beast if you want to dive into the sub tool details of everything, it can do everything you want when you know it inside out, which can take A LOT, but it's totally worth it. One can learn one small detail every day and incorporate it in their workflow, and do it for years

god, i was JUST looking up on csp ask on how to get rid of the little white jagged lines when you use the fill tool. No one gave me a straight answer, thank you. this makes my life so much easier. I draw rather messily and i ALSO use a textured brush, same as you, so it was great to see that i dont have to painfully struggle to do flats. (because i am lazy).
