Thanks for the video and for your personal opinion! I have Moonlighter and Crosscode in my Switch library and have never touched them. Thanks to do I put them in my priority list ❤
Sea of Stars. Ara Fell. Rise of the Third Power. Need to play Crosscode. I'm currently playing Chained Echoes and it has legs. I loved Battle Chasers and Fel Seal.
Death s Door is one of the best games i ve ever played. Loved Chained Echoes althou it starts quite slow, dropped like 2 times before finally playing it. I liked Sea of Stars, didnt love it, but it s also very good.
Some of these would definitely be in my list too - Sea of Stars, Tunic, Islets. Hollow Knight would also have made it onto mine. Particularly pleased to see Death’s Door on your list, one of my all time favourites and you don’t see it get the recognition it deserves. Looking forward to the next release from those devs.
You're honestly convincing me to whip out my Switch version of CrossCode and to finally play it! Seriously amazing list bro, it's hard to keep up with all these wonderful gems!
Damn dude, This is a real list. I agree strongly with almost all of these. I think I would give crystal project the best turned based category over chained echoes...but still chained echoes is a solid pick. I also think your missing monster sanctuary (best indie monster catcher rivaled maybe by cassette beasts). Other contenders I didn't see on your list (sticking to more recent games like you did) Animal Well for its joyous puzzling, and octopath 2 has to be a contender for the pixel art....Sea of stars was prettier but octopath redefined what HD2D was and brought us into a world of hd2d remakes. All in all though this list was top tier and represents why I love your channel so much. Keep it up! You should be 10x bigger.
Dude thank you so much for the kind words. That really made my day. I heard so many great things about Crystal Project and I definitely want to check it out someday. Monster Sanctuary is a great game. I love how it's a crazy mix of MV and Pokémon. Really need to finish that game soon.
This is a great list! Minishoot for sure was one of the biggest surprises for me when I played it! It is pure fun and I wish more people would play it and talk about it! Islets looks great! I have to check it out!
I bought a Switch recently and beat some games that I would never play in big platforms. And one of that games is a gem of metroidvanias: ANIMAL WELL. The best exploration experience in games I've ever had. 20+ hours and I still not found every secret.
I bet against it: TOP 10 greates of all time indie games to throw in a vulcan if you're feeling destructive... I wouldn't put Hollow Knight on this list. No, jokes aside, I really like HK, it's a brilliant game. But I couldn't fully connect with it, which is why I never considered it one of my favorites.
This is such an interesting list! I haven't heard about any of these games but all of them look so appealing! But could you please write their names somewhere? That would be great!
@@literaturtee that's great. I'm always happy to introduce people to new games. The games on this list are: Viewfinder Moonlighter Death's Door Islets Sea of Stars Blasphemous 2 Lone Fungus Minishoot' Adventures Chained Echoes Tunic CrossCode
My top 10 (no particular order) are 1. Hollow Knight 2. Celeste 3. Undertale 4. Cuphead 5. Cult of the Lamb 6. Viewfinder 7. Elden Ring 8. Dead Cells 9. Ori and the Will of the Wisps 10. Rain World Bonus 11th: Hollow Knight Silksong, unreleased :(
Minishoot was a lot of fun. Really satisfied my recent cravings for shmups. The only problem I have with the game is that the true ending was underwhelming (No seriously why? Had I known what would happen I would have never done it) and I need a fourth difficulty option because CAVE and Touhou have made me too powerful for this game. Even the TLB was fairly easy for me even on the highest difficulty.
That game has been on my wishlist for a while. Played the demo and wasn't too excited with the controls but I want to give it another shot since I heard very good things about it.
All top tier games. But you can't have a top indie all time list that doesn't include Hollow Knight, Celeste, Hades, or Dead Cells at all. So imo not a good "All Time" list. Just my opinion tho.
@@jubbice5040 I get that. Maybe you missed that I said that it's rather a list about my personal favorite indie games? However I do agree that all the games you mentioned are awesome, but just not my favorite.
@@valemadres302 They're from the same developer. Kyle Thompson is the solo dev of both these games. The OST for both games is composed by his brother Eric Thompson. Brilliant games
Because it''s a list about my personal favorite indie games, not about the best from a "community/gamer perspective". While I acknowledge the genius for Hollow Knight and Dead Cells, I couldn't fully connect with them, Dead Cells especially. And with Outer Wilds, that one I haven't played yet but I'm sure I'll love it.
Honestly, not having Hollow Knight mentioned in this list, is somewhat a crime… Apart from that, Hotline Miami 1&2 & The Binding of Isaac would be safe candidates for me, at least, worth a mention. At least worth an honorable mention: Balatro, Celeste, Cuphead, Slay the Spire, The Messenger
@@feiitogaming First of all, much appreciated that you took the time and replied to my comment! Concerning Hollow Knight, I'd be really interested to know how long you played the game for and gave it a chance to please you. I'm not saying that you need to have played the game to 112% to give your opinion, but it took me a little while to get into the game and ultimately love it. So my question would be how long or far you played it and if you could point the finger at certain aspects that were crucial for you to not enjoy or like the game so much.
@@8ogl I finished around 90% of the game and spent around 25 hours in HK. Initially I was absolutely hooked and loved it. The more I played the more I things frustrated me, like combat, navigation and movement. The latter is probably because I used a Switch Pro Controller, which I think is great, but isn't great for precise movement. With navigation I was frustrated because I rarely knew where to go next and as the map got bigger, it got harder to figure this out on my own. I tell you what: I am absolutely planning on restarting HK on Playstation as soon as the release date for Silksong is announced.
My time with CrossCode was utter misery. I’m a JRPG guy so I’m not used to running with one stick and aiming my balls with the other. It took me 5 times to try to beat the tutorial boss. And all of the chests are found by following the jumping paths. Unpopular opinion I know but my time with CrossCode was nothing but frustration. Way overrated.
Honestly I totally understand a lot of the critizism about CrossCode. It's really not for everbody, especially because of the puzzles. What is your favorite indie game though?
I agree, tried CrossCode 5 times, gave up the 5th time after the third area. And I am obsessed with indie games. Vigil: The Longest Night and Outbuddies DX are gems that you need to play through the first five hours before starting to get into it.
