That Riley story is absolutely nuts!! I love the topps chrome retro autographs. The chrome finish on the ‘88 design, plus on card autos make these special in my mind. Freeman gold rookie! There are shockingly few PSA 10’s of any freeman rookie parallels. That 8 looks good!
Long response, but you may find it worth your while as before I canceled PSA, I got insanely consistent grades. First, I never sent hoping for anything. It was "this is a 10" or I didn't send it. That Witt is a 7 on the dent/crease alone. I had a friend bring me a card that had a 1mm indentation on the back of the card. That was it. The rest of the card was flawless. I was the only one out of about 10 people that caught it. I told him he was looking at a 7/8. He didn't believe me. Got an 8. On a $450 raw card. He blew up angry. That's how they are. That Freeman, I would have never sent. I think you got a really lucky grade. Front centering was an 8 alone and there is white on all four corners. They probably got you for "over foiling" on the left side of that chrome Kershaw. Left hand side. You can see it coming out onto the border. My advice - Stop grading anything you don't think is a 10, unless you just feel the need to grade for some reason. Raw is starting to sell at the same level as PSA9 a lot, which is insane. Also, I really wouldn't send right now. I have a friend that is even better than me in terms of eye. Example ... His last 400 cards, I think he's gemmed up 374? That. Is. Insane. He has stopped submitting. Apparently, they're f'ing up right now. Hope it helps.
@@Matt_237 I wish I could get graders notes and see what exactly they’re looking for. I knew a lot of these wouldn’t gem but I don’t mind 9’s but the 6 was a surprise. Guess I shouldn’t send it back in huh
@tomahawk_cards No. My opinion? If you like to grade your PC cards, just one-touch them. You can always grade them later to sell them. I have thousands of cards worth $2 to $1,000 and they're in toploaders or one touches. More satisfying to display and enjoy them than pay PSA to give me a grade.
