I am completely disagree with your opinion and maybe I'm disagree with Stephen king opinion. when you watch a movie and there are 10 people on a stage and do different things it take maybe lots of pages to write what are they doing what they have but when you watching that movie when you see a photo you get lots of information in a moment compared with reading a book 20 minutes to read all the things that have they done and they are doing, I talk about that 10 pery, but when you watch movie you get it in a second or seconds. Rather than read the 20 pages of a book you can watch a movie with lots of details.

Another thing that Stephen King says that I use quite frequently.. when editing, "You must kill your darlings." My book is getting published right now and will be out in the book stores in the winter of 2021. I am working on my second book. I could see that the writing style or structure is so much more different. This is something that you will have to learn as you get better at waiting. Don't worry about editing. This can be fixed. An editor can't fix a blank page.

I’ve really just learnt that it takes time to get better. I’m 14 now and i’ve been writing for 7 years off and on and i’ve just gotten better through reading. Writing’s not necessarily a skill you can get really good at quickly, no matter how much you work.

How long did it take you to start writing well? I’m 13 and I’ve been writing small stories since I was 6, but I’ve only been serious about writing an actual book for less than a year and I’m really struggling with motivation and wether or not it’s actually a good story idea

Thanks for this. There is so much information out there, it's nearly paralyzing trying to absorb it all. And then there's the contradictions to take into account. Also, simply learning the terminology can be overwhelming. A new writer can spend so much time wondering if they're doing it right, they don't get around to writing at all.

I wrote a book and it was very cringey when I was 10. It taught me so much about writing and got me a story I was passionate about. I think a tip is to make any book you want mostly short at the start and just let it be bad even if you feel bad about it. It doesn’t matter and as long as you don’t care about the book your writing too much or your going to edit it later then just write it. I had to learn about writing from experience.

This information is right on point. I found it to be incredibly helpful. I started writing in February 2021. A friend who is dyslexic, like myself wrote a short story for his Grand children. He asked me to help make it better. It's the best creative journey I've been on. So much to learn. I paint, act, sing all of which I have worked hard at and studied. Writing through improvisation has been my only written experience. Approaching this story in the same way has helped. I become all of the characters. I'm a long way from the finishing line. Just started my second draft after asking for feedback from fellow writers and actors. That part of the process help enormously. I recommend following the 11 points. They do help. Thanks

I remember when I first started writing my story in 2018, I was not passionate about it. I simply had the idea for a character and the perils I wanted him to face, with hardly any idea of from whence they would come. Then, a few months ago I got this plot-breaking idea, and I have since written over 30,000 words of it so far. Waiting for the time to be passionate about a story is definitely the way to go for me.

I started writing on WordPress. My first story contained some of my personal life incidents. And I feel insecure sharing with people I know. So I thought of writing it the app where no one knows me, yet they can enjoy it. Secondly, I'm too shy to just do my work publicly when everyone knows me. So better put on a mask.

People Fear writing their story. = True. People will improve at writing by writing. = True You can flesh out ideas of your story by writing it. = True. You should therefore write a rough draft of your story. = FALSE. It is a completely understandable fear that you don't want to risk the final product. So Don't risk the final product. Instead write short stories about background characters. That way you are practicing writing by writing, And you are world building. All without risking "the" story. And in fact it is probably better to world build by thinking from different perspectives. For example, if you want to write a romance novel it might be helpful to write a short story from the perspective of a florist. If you want to write a murder mystery novel, write a short story about a different crime. These can be the length of a chapter, the length of a paragraph, or the length of a story as a whole.

I always hear write everyday. No matter if it's good or not write. I have felt this is not very helpful. You burn out quickly and wonder why you get writers block. I may go weeks without writing, but it's in the back of my mind, and then one day it hits where my story needs to go and I can write a ton.

The critical reading thing is really good but I think it sometimes ruins the book for me 😅 I naturally pick up on everything I like and don't like about the actual craft and sometimes I lose track of the story. It's especially annoying when I start a story and I like the plot but not the actual writing because I generally prefer to finish a story once I've started. I guess that's what I get reading on Wattpad 🤦‍♀️😅
