The Alien 3 that everyone knows wasn't the version that was supposed to be cannon, there's a comic adaptation of the original script and in this bit the queen laid an egg in Bishop's stomach and it developed into an egg just like the ones that queens normally lay with their ovipositors
The first movie was created in 1978 and it is still a phenomenal movie. Spectacularly visually stunning and the actors and actresses are so skilled that it is timeless.
H.R.Giger, he will be missed. It’s sad how after he worked with Hollywood he was practically ostracized by the art snob community, hardly ever being invited to shows or events anymore being labeled a sellout. His vision took the world of sci-fi horror out of the age of cheesy rubber bug man suits and introduced something so alien it’s mere appearance horrified the audience. I wonder what might had become of movies like this if his vision hadn’t raised the bar like it did.
If only any studio besides Fox decides to use his vision to set things right to make alien movies, Alien vs Predator movies, and maybe use elements from the films directed by Ridley Scott, short films, comics, video games, novels, scrapped ideas and concept arts, kenners toyline and H.R. Giger's artworks, maybe they would use different xenomorph types from each of these for that and give them either a redesign or not
I own some signed work of her love them. Im a fan of weaver so even if one shes in sucks i still watch it. The bloomcamp one seems like such a missed chance, been and weaver sign me up!
@@devastatorboss059, it's some of H.R. Giger's art (or something done in his style, idk I'm no expert) and he's the one who designed the Xenomorph. His art intentionally has this weird, uncomfortable sexual nature. It intentionally looks like weird p0rn in short.
There's so many other concepts you can do with them. Like a Chestburster mutation - one that failed to violently escape its host, but instead was assimilating the human from the inside out, gradually taking over them, like some kind of infection - to make a much deadlier more evolved intelligent predator.
"Morph" does not mean to "transform smoothly". Used as an etymological root it means "shape" or "form". People use it to mean transform as a shortened form of "metamorphose", from "metamorphosis", which is the action of "changing to a form beyond" the present form. And yes, "xeno" does imply "foreign", "strange", "alien". Therefore "xenomorph" is an "alien form" literally. Oh, and "caste" DOES NOT RHYME with "taste". It's pronounced as the word "cast" WITHOUT the "e" at the end: caste and cast sound exactly the same.
Good catch on the etymology but go easy. I have a feeling this person has dyslexia as multiple videos from this channel feature mispronounced words or mixed letters
@@danielsmith8837, all right. I'll take it into account. I think the narration is done with a speech synthesizer, so it does it's best to follow general pronunciation rules, but with English writing there's always an exception to the rules. With a bit of OCD, the repeated mispronunciation of "caste" was driving me up the wall, hahaha... But in the end it's not a big deal 🙂
Gildardo, if you're going to highlight the flaws in someone's English you should at the very least check your own writing for mistakes. You've written "The used as an etymological root it means".
Lmao, shit looks like a MUCH more comfortable catheter. The damn alien franchise can fix that shit but our world can't? Jeez, one more reason I'm an Alien fan! 🤘
3:34 - That is not a crusher. It's a Queen. As well, it's tricky to call a crusher a Praetorian because once a drone reaches a certain level of maturity it grows into what is known as a "Praetorian".
This is such a weird video. The voice has good enunciation and good recording quality, but the grammar, pronunciation and editing are literally all over the place!
Yeah, watching this in one sitting was awkward because I had to keep rewinding and listenening to things multiple times to try and make sense of what I was hearing.
There's a lot of things wrong with this video. I get that they haven't played the game that explains Raven but for the love of god they need to do research before saying idiotic things.
If it's a 'flying queen's acting as a drone (or kindergarten teacher) then it is a drone and not a queen. Maybe that's why they're usually called winged drones (or kindergarten teachers).
2:06 the narrator says “psychologically”. I wonder if he meant to say “physiologically”. I don’t think the Xenomorphs develop their mindset based on their host. Rather, they develop their physical body based on their host.
Unless they changed it since the 80s/90s comics and books, you technically are correct. They're bodies and some other traits are based off the host, since the chest burster uses some the hosts DNA to develop. There have been dog, gorilla, and bull xenomorphs, and more recently a predator xenomorph
@Fernando Flores you are correct. Physiology was what he should have stated at that earlier part of the vid. But when he's talking about Alien Rogue, psychology is what he had meant.
I wish someone could adapt the comic of Alien vs Predator vs Terminator, that would brought the teather one of the most dangerous monsters of all time, the TERMINATOR HYBRID
@Reagan perhaps it really was plus Ripley, call and the rest of the ressurection survivors were there too honestly I'm this close to throwing 60 quid away just to buy this comic lol
That bit @ 1:05 was off that one Aliens comic where the USMC manages to create a xenomorph that knows how the other xenos work and can speak, even use guns
I feel bad for you, AVP was horribad. Go watch the original predator and the original alien movie, and ignore everything else (except maybe predator 2)
That was such a shit movie, why in the hell do they always stick humans in vs movies? They always ruin the movie. I wanted alien vs predator, not alien vs human and their buddy predator.
The actions of the cast in the alien, predator, and promethious movies falls short, the acting was good but lots of plot holes. Still pretty good for it's time though.
I really like the videos on this channel. The content from "Marvelous Videos" is actual quality instead of the click-bait, pointless lists you get on many, many other channels. But sometimes the pronunciations bug me. "Caste" is pronounced the same as "cast" like in "plaster cast" or "cast a spell". Regardless, thank you for putting out the content you do!
You missed "the big black eyes" of a xenomorph. They get a ton of stuff wrong because they try to stretch the descriptions out. Have you ever wondered why xenomorphs don't get gendered pronouns? I'm willing to bet you haven't. Just say "they can switch genders" as a fact instead of the whole "You may be wondering why a Xenomorph isn't a he or she..." stuff, you know?
I think the "Morph" in Xenomorph uses this definition: Morph (Noun) a) a local population of a species that consists of interbreeding organisms and is distinguishable from other populations by morphology or behavior though capable of interbreeding with them b) a phenotypic variant of a species
Should have mentioned the android alien queen. Not explicitly hostile to humans but not exactly friendly either. Combination of an alien queen and a humanoid android. Highly intelligent, strong, and fast. Human is size but able to control her drones in far more complex strategies than any other queen.
The game was only so bad because a single tiny bit of code was input wrong and it broke the alien AI. People have fixed it and it plays fine once that extremely small error is corrected... though it is still pretty 4/10 - 5/10.
The long and (sometimes) elaborate heads would severely limit their mobility in limited spaces (such as tight tunnels). A glaring weakness that can be easily exploited.
Nah jokes aside your spot on I'm over everything getting put on there but thing is it won't stop because fortnite is literally a playable billboard advertising
Okay hear me out, since marvel is going to do their own Alien comic series its most likely going to take place in the marvel comic multi-verse so its possible that the avengers are going to fight against them which made me thinking...what the heck is going to happen if The Hulk gets "impregnated" i mean what kind monster would burst out of him, plus because The Hulk has regeneration capabilities, not only could his zenomorph inherit them, but The Hulk if captured and contained could be used to "farm" Hulk zenos. I really want to see a Hulk Zenomorph and even a fight between this zeno and The Hulk
I've read the Aliens Genocide comics, and seeing two different colored Xenomorphs battle each other was cool to see. I hope one day they'll make a movie out of it, and we get to see a real Xenomorph civil war, and the humans can truly sit down and watch their worse nightmares kill each other.
Was there a copy-write post edit near 14:00 or something? Feel like there was some footage removed. Anyway, I just discovered your videos and I love what you’re doing. Keep it up man.
Fun fact: the RU-vidr 'Kroft talks about movies' made a comment about the King Caste that said they're "essentially combat-built Queens", and in all honesty, he ain't wrong-
Love the breakdowns. Healthy criticism… EQ the voice over to eliminate the drowning bass. The voice is muddy and hard to understand. Keep up the great work!
Yeah, probably. Honestly, quite a bit of Venom's design may have been inspired by Alien's Xenomorphs. The shiny black skin, the slobbery, toothy maw, the body horror of the Symbiote.
Yet another one completly miss AlienVS Predator:Extinction from PS2 (starcraftlike game) - They have Ravager the giant praetorian with bladelike claws & its a best unit in game.
@@tuskgora I'm also glad. AvPE so underrated, too bad they didn't port it to pc with multiplayer. Carrier is good for facehugger transportation purposes, but 3 ravagers is almost guarantee win. PredAlien with their ability to level up, are interesting too, but their flourish kinda late. But i manage to solo Alien vs Alien map with PredAlien, when you owerpower him too much, he is the strongest. But ravagers are easier to obtain, than op PredAlien.
I'm going to spin a thought right now for an alien I could envision. Comets that contain pockets of ice also store seeds of life that will grow into drones when they land on a planet, they begin developing a biological structure that looks like a volcano. This thing develops from the bottom of the ocean on earth, it uses the varying pressure to eject matter out into space. A network forms and the invasion begins.
I think for the raven one is actually a human transform by the queen for a powerful xeno hybrid if i remember correctly in the comic book from dark horse magazine a mad scientist hear the voice of the queen and follow her command to be transform as a powerful hybrid. she can basically create special egg over a lifeform and mutate him to an xeno like
Outside of the comics and games, we haven’t seen a completely fully matured Xenomorph in its final stage of its life cycle in the live action films. These fully matured Xenomorphs are called Praetorians or Royal Guards. In the movies, the young adult Xenomorphs get killed before we see them grow into there final form. The Praetorians are much larger and they look so much more fearsome than the basic Xenomorph XX121. Not only are they much lager than regular Xenos but they have twice the durability making their skin very resilient to damage but they can also spit acid. They’re considerably way stronger physically and their tails are much sharper and more metallic like than there younger Xenomorph counterparts. They have giant headcrests like the Queen, they’re able to telepathically summon other Xenomorphs and they’re just all around more menacing looking.
Darkness Falls, a short story that is part of the Alien Bug Hunt anthology, features the Blue Moon Centipede Xenomorph. It's created when a facehugger latches on to a giant Blue Moon Centipede. Stop and think about that for a moment. A centipede large enough to be a host, and the xenomorph born from such a host. A hundred claws, the centipede pincers in addition to the classic alien double mouth, two xenomorph tails whipping off the back end. Oh yeah, and there were 3-6 of these nightmarish monsters at any given time.
The Excorsist tends to overshadow it but ask anyone old enough to have seen it in theatres what the second scariest movie they ever saw in theatres and 9 times outta 10 they'll say Alien
Wasn't there a bunch of cool aliens in the Kenner Action figure line, as well as others. I remember a serpant with no arms, a gorrilla, a Rhino and a giant facehugger that transported others regular facehuggers on its back and I'm sure a few others. I also believe there was an aquatic alien that looked like it came from a whale or shark host in one of the comics
Yep! I still have most of those locked away. I remember brining the Rhino Xenomorph (i think) to class for show-and-tell when I was 5. All the other kids and my teacher thought i was very weird.
The facehugger implants hosts with a gemetoid mass that seeks out host cells and assimilates their DNA. Its further development is dependent on recombination with non-like foreign DNA. Despite their morphological differences, a facehugger and xenomorph are genetic matches. Thus, a xenomorph is not a viable host to a chestburster, as the implanted cells have no means by which to complete their genome.
Well, outside of the general powercreep that happens in most stuff, the reasons could include; Stronger host species, human/other alien species meddling with their DNA and or breeding them for specific results, Xenomorph in-fighting leading to natural developments and improvements to better deal with their enemies as the fight over what hives are the strongest, although unlikely for Xenomorphs I guess it's possible their environments could also change them and require them to get stronger if it is particularly harsh. Just normal evolution stuff for creatures. The real reason is because it sells more copies and gets more attention if you show something new, rather than bank on just writing a damn good story. It's hard to write a very good story, but much easier to just go with, "Let's make a Xenomorph that is cooler/different and then just tell the same story as every other one that came before with this new type mixed in."
@@Amrehlu no its bad writing my friend. it's dragon ball z all over again. they get so powerful that you don't even know what is going on and you cant relate anymore. it's also like Jurassic park. instead of knowing the movie is about the character's experiences they thought it's about scarier dinosaurs. and thats why they will never make another movie like the first one. as a writer myself I don't respect this.
