I'm so glad these guys take the time to actually clarify on how some methods would play out. For example, I was tempted to say ''with crucifixion the most common cause of death wasn't exposure to the elements and scavengers-'' but they hit the nail right on the head when they followed with the ''asphyxiation'' part. They nails part was also not normally done. Generally you were just tied with a little ledge for your feet so you could take breaths. It was for punishment, not execution. Even Jesus could prop himself up for breaths .

One torture i also believe should be mentioned(although it is more or less like the brazen bull), is a portuguese PIDE torture device nicknamed "the frying pan": A concrete room with a slid up top that only let hot air in. Since it was made on a camp in a african territory, the temperatures inside the apparatus could get lethally hot

Apparently the Blood eagle was also a chance at redemption, albeit incredibly difficult redemption. If the victim managed to make it throught the entire execution without screaming in pain, they would be alowed into Valhalla, this is much easier said than done due to the brutality of the execution.
