I have had one here in my huge camphor tree for the last three days he starts at dawn and sings till dark. God’s creation is so amazing!

Mocking birds have the cutest rump feathers they speak using them cocking them up and down. I love them they are my favorite native bird. The next is the golden eagle.

I'm on 5 acres here in the south with lots of trees. I have dozens of mocks that have made my home their home. They are fun to have around. They won't attack me or my dog but they always go after my cats but only during mating season. My dog tries to chase them and I know that they play along often taunting my dog.

I love them. They chase away squirrels from my raised beds area. They have made my backyard their home and even raised a chick this year. Their mating dances are so funny!

So many mockingbirds in the neighborhood! They harassed the crows mercilessly a few months ago. I saw a cat in the chinese pistache tree the other day and 2 mockingbirds went nuts! And no wonder they're building a next in the well protected bouganvillea arch right next to it--just out side the kitchen window too!

Never knew that they made it for life! I liked all the facts. I thought they sang up to about 15 songs as I try to count them when I’m listening to them had no idea it was hundreds and I learn them lifelong! Thank you for sharing.

I heard a mocking bird a few days ago, then the night before last it sang all night long. I couldn’t believe it. Now I know why. Poor guy lost his life partner.

They only attack humans if u are in the area of their nest. They aren't dumb they defend their food source. ( especially when they have young). Mine are trained like pet birds inside, they are never aggressive to me, but i am kind to them. They come to my door and talk to let me know they want more food.

*I broke law #9.* What is the punishment? I found a baby mockingbird and raised it, and trying to find videos how to release in the wild. My baby girl Milo 🐥 is very attached to me. She flew on me by the second day and now we are best buddies. Not sure if she'll leave unless she goes to a single tree to find potential partner.

I know it's illegal but it'd be neat to have as a pet. I couldn't bear keeping it in a cage tho. Birds are meant to fly and should never be kept in a cage.

Mockingbird is secretive and not aggressive. Yields to most birds in off season.

Damn nobody touch one you might have a cop after you. Lol. Sorry had to say that. I use to own one in 2003 and never had a cop or wildlife officer tell me I couldn't have it. I've raised a many of a bird. Wish I knew how to get a rehabilitate license.

They are a huge pain in the arse. They are wonderful to everybody, until they grow up in your tree in front of your house and sing day and night. I hear those sounds constantly in my head. The bird in front of my house is crazy. I live on a golf course, with 1000's of trees for him to go enjoy. But he wont leave mine.
