I'm 6ft 4, 270lbs, a farm boy with calloused hands. Few of my employees hopped in my car today, and yea I was listening to Norah lol they made their jokes, I restarted the song lol
I first heard "Don't Know Why" while I was in Amsterdam in the summer of 2002. I was feeling a little under the weather and stayed in the hotel room while my wife and her father went out for a while. There was some kind of music video channel on the TV and this song came on and blew my socks off. I'll never stop associating this song with Amsterdam. Thanks Nora!
Stumbled across Norah at home covering Patience this morning during COVID-19, now I'm binge watching her all day while staying home. Love your music, Norah. Thank you!
Welcome, she is amazing I've bought her CD's over and over because I've worn them out. Please show support of course get exposure online but please buy an album xx
I've asked that question for 22 years. Still no answer. Seen her live twice. Her actual capabilities, as a musician, as a singer, are almost too much for anyone to bear.
Love all Norah’s songs… very sensational and moving. I had, and still, always wanted to share her songs with someone special… Her songs reminds how I love being in love. Pray for me to find “the one”
I waited 'til I saw the sun I don't know why I didn't come I left you by the house of fun Don't know why I didn't come Don't know why I didn't come When I saw the break of day I wished that I could fly away Instead of kneeling in the sand Catching tear-drops in my hand My heart is drenched in wine But you'll be on my mind forever Out across the endless sea I would die in ecstasy But I'll be a bag of bones Driving down the road alone My heart is drenched in wine But you'll be on my mind forever Something has to make you run I don't know why I didn't come I feel as empty as a drum I don't know why I didn't come
Not many people know that Norah was a graduate of North Texas State Univ. where hey had a great jazz program, a friend of hers who worked for Blue Note Records recommended they audition her. She went to New York. They listened to her for about 30 minutes and signed her to contract the same day. The rest is history.
This is stirring, poignant, evocative, engrossing, and altogether captivating. As is she. What a beautiful talent, and what a compelling work of musical prowess.
@@meghasinghaniahmu Little child before you YELL please do some research first. This is a song by Grammy Award winner Jesse Harris: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BbOLLibARmk.html
I have noticed a lot of people don't notice how heartbreaking this song is and just hear its beauty. "When I saw the break of day I wished that I could fly away Instead of kneeling in the sand Catching tear-drops in my hand My heart is drenched in wine But you'll be on my mind forever"
I'm always convinced that a woman is beautiful based on her looks and the way she moves... but then I hear a womans voice singing and I remember what I really want...
that's how I feel about Joss Stone I am glad you made that point mr. Hunter, it's all about the voice the style the grace the performance impact in this industry looks should not matter
The most beautiful sights on the planet ,forget fantastic scenery. There is nothing more beautiful than your type of woman, her looks, her voice, her laugh & everything about her. I find Norah Jones totally beautiful with an amazing voice, she is a pleasure to sit & watch, have listened to her for hours some nights. But she doesn’t fit as my beautiful woman, but close.
The times people say so and so has the voice of an angel. So many times I have wandered to what they were on about and... where is it? I didn't wander here. I was led here by a playlist, after listening to Norah's new song for the dozenth time and then a few other videos. I've not seen this. The audio playback can be a bit spotty, with odd crackles. But OH MY GOD Norah's voice on this is something else. Something special. I don't know if she caught magic that night that made her already brilliant voice just "shimmer" or whether it's just something Norah do sometimes, but angelic only BEGINS to describe this. Whatever the case, this is an example of super sayan Norah... and NO ONE can live with that. But if it's going to kill me I'll die happy!
This song I listened to it for the first time when I was in my early teens with my mom. For years after this song was her favorite and now I still listen to it , makes me feel as though my mom is still with me.
There are reasons for that. Often vacuous and empty reasons revolving around the usual societal trappings, but even despite that Jones has a strong and adoring following. Like you, I happen to be one. She's a rare talent the likes of which this world may never see again. And I dare say this has to be the best rendition of Don't know why I've ever heard. I know that voice well but it slayed me this time around.
I've always melted when this song started playing. And yet, every time I'm on a date and I try to play this song, nothing. I only feel romantic when alone with her voice and music in my head.
Como diz uma amiga..."NOraH é pra qq hora!" Concordo...Som muito bom pra cozinhar, pra dirigir, pra arrumar, pra pensar, pra viajar, pra "coisar"... rs Adoro!
