I just can't stand armies hyping BTS up like they are the best boyband to ever exist and no one can beat them. Is BTS talented and hardworking? Yes, but you also have to consider that luck also plays into this. Lots of groups are hardworking and talented but you need luck and fans to achieve success. Don't forget that BTS got global recognition because of their fandom size. If only talent mattered then why didn't the other groups achieve such fame ? Are the other groups not talented and their music is bad? I will spill my tea on Bts members being arrogant here. First of all I don’t really see three members being that arrogant. Most of the members didn’t really do anything and I didn’t really see that much arrogance from them, but I have to say I was talking about this with one of my friends for almost like one and a half years that we have one member in BTS that just gets on our nerves kinda, I really want to find something that I like about him but my friend literally like lost Hope in him she really doesn’t like this member and I can see why. The member I’m talking about is Kim Taehyung. He once said that he changed because he matured but I don’t know if he’s lying to himself. He’s just arrogant that’s it. Like he did mature but that’s not the reason why he’s like he is now. I once saw him in yoongis talk show. While Jungkook was talking about wanting to perform, he just nodded and didn’t really seem to participate in his interest. Yeah I don’t know how to explain but I hope you can get what I mean with that.From the end of 2017 to 2020 he was my bias and I Was really sad to see him change his personality this much. Like he didn’t change a little bit he had a complete 180 with his personality. From then on my bias was suga and now this happened. I always choose the members that get controversy’s. The thing with army’s hyping up Bts, is that Bts doesn’t have some unique concept. They sound like all the other boy groups. But the girl groups have different concepts. Twice aespa and newjeans are all rlly different. But seventeen, Bts, stray kids and enhypen aren’t very different. They all have loud songs that use crazy beats (not an insult, it’s fun). But none are much different except for possibly the personality of members; which obviously will be to a limit so their not canceled

They are indeed unique because from 2013-present, They're the only group who has and is still raising awareness for loving ourselves, feeling lonely, defeated, other mental health problems we're struggling with every day. While other groups are writing and singing about love, relationship, partying etc etc, They're the only one who cared enough to write songs about giving us strength, loving ourselves, standing up for ourselves etc etc.

Personally, I don't judge people for having bad habits but I judge them for promoting bad habits. In his D-Day documentary Suga seemed to not understand why he got criticised for smoking in the Haegum MV. I saw so many Armys posting screenshots of those smoking scenes and celebrating them. Most of these Armys are probably teenagers who at least subconsciously (and that's the important part) now associate smoking with all the positive feelings (cool, sexy, bold, confident, authentic, creative, talented) they have for SUGA and this specific MV. That's how tobacco marketing works. In this case not for a specific brand but for the concept of smoking.

BTS don’t even have that meaningful music as their fans claim. The Love yourself is a cliché, the rap line imitates western rappers in terms of pronouncing (Rm - Nas and Kanye, Suga - Eminem, J-Hope - J Cole, Drake), their album Map of the soul 7 is really bad - like a cinematic autotuned music that is all over the place. Let me not start with the vocal line which is sooo overhyped that I cannot the group seriously considering that Jk is such a good vocalist when in fact he is mid. It’s not hating but facts. I am mainly a Blink for example and I know that BP are not the best at everything and that being famous is just one thing. Army here: About the Suga thing, it is a significant detail that Suga was driving an electrical scooter, not a car. It definitely is still wrong but there is a huge difference in the damage a car can cause vs an electrical scooter. I'm not saying he is above the law, because of cause he isn't, but Suga has apologized and has been held accountable for his actions by the police. If people are going to debate this, they should at least include the fact that he drove an electrical scooter and not a car. People can still have their opinion about the situation but don't leave out one of the most important details. Suga should definitely be held accountable for his actions, but some people also tend to make this a way bigger thing than it is. Also about other groups being as big as BTS. There probably will be groups or artists in the future who will become big. But that won't happen if companies keep making their groups seem bigger than they are and keep chasing BTS' achievements. Instead the companies should let their groups/artist grow at their own pace and follow their own path. (Sorry for the bad English, it's not my first language.)

This has to be one of the most immature comment sections I have seen in a while. Like half of the things written here don't even make sense. Ya'll are just taking out your frustration with BTS and ARMYs because you have a chance now since there was finally a slip-up you can use to justify it. Ya'll just lacked guts to spew the disgusting things you actually want to on a daily basis, but now this whole scandal has given you wings. It's funny but at the same time sad. Now, since we've decided to be frank in the comments: 1. "Every group is talented and hardworking, BTS succeeded and not other groups because luck plays a big part, other groups could beat them" Now, literally NOBODY is saying that there wasn't a bit of luck involved. Every huge pop culture fenomenon has had luck on their side because talent and hardwork obviously aren't the only things required. HOWEVER, we will not be playing dumb right now and say that we don't know why BTS suceeded and not other groups. It is because at their core, they weren't a completely souless industry product, or at least if you don't want to believe that, they didn't look like it in a time where kpop very much lacked sincerity. They made it because they understood that music is meant to have an emotional impact and that the feeling that a song gives you goes way further than other factors that are taken into consideration when making music. That's why BTS songs that aren't as perfect as let's say some songs from YG and SM in terms of production or vocals are still far more cherised by the listeners, and are until this day on their playlists and have longevity. That is literally THE PURPOSE of music and art and is the reason why people even consume it. And that's why most of the kpop groups fail to have longevity and songs that chart for a long time, there is zero emotional impact. 2. "BTS has the same aesthetic and concepts as other group, their concept isn't unique, other groups are more individualistic" Now this has to be one of the funniest takes ever since BTS are basically the epitome of individualism in the kpop scene (of course as unique and individualistic a group can be in such an environment). So you guys are telling me that the epitome of individualism for ya'll is a company making a crazy new concept and shoving it into the mouths of the members? And not actual individuals telling their stories? I gotta laugh. And as far as it goes for the whole concept thing, products have concepts, not musicians. Of course since it's kpop that relies on the aesthetics there has to be a central theme so ya'll can digest it, but if you actually make impactful music nobody is going to be hell-bent on having a new crazy concept every time because the music and stories itself are the most important content. The concept being good is just an extra treat. 3. "Yoongi, RM and V are arrogant". Now, I cannot speak for this because I LITERALLY DON'T KNOW THEM PERSONALLY and neither do you, so what are ya'll blabbering about? However, what absolutely doesn't sit right with me is that as soon as someone starts being truthful and honest (which is one of the main messages of BTS - speak yourself) or godforbid show any signs of humanity they get hounded by you guys who only wan't them to speak about flowers and rainbows. Now, are there always weirdos now and there, of course. We will not pretend like there isn't a small percentage of fanatics. Now about other idols being cancelled for smaller things. Now, I know that this is frustrating for you guys (especially the ones that went through these types of things with your idols, my heart goes out to ya'll), but if you have any common sense you will understand that that isn't his fault. And just because others have suffered without a need doesn't mean that he has to. He is being investigated, he will receive punishment and that's it. Since the beginning they were true to themselves, they were so genuine and were part of every single thing in their group and career, that’s why they connected with so many people around the world, that’s why they’re the Icons and legends they are today! They’re not a concept or an aesthetic, they’re simply BTS and that’s why nobody is like them and still they want to be like them! Not saying that having a concept or an aesthetic as a group or that they don’t involve in their music is wrong, is not but to compare them to BTS is INSANE and so DUMB. They’re literally not the same at all, not even a little bit. Not even as BTS as soloist.
i do agree suga did wrong by mistake.. but if u see in twitter its kinda a hot mess rn recently, it was reported that haters (from several kpop fandoms) supported the hashtag '#SugaChallenge'. It is said that these haters held a challenge to deliver messages of support such as "support SUGA" and "stand with SUGA" along with a photo of them drinking in the car to hate on him.. and thats disgusting.. and i think these things shouldn't be slipped on but haters sometimes hate them for nothing.. instead of trying to judge we shouldn't support the mistakes but criticize and move on..

As an Army i agree what yoongi did was wrong and he should not be held above the law, but... the thing is kmedia made a HUGE fuss about it. They showed the world false cctv footages, lied in yoongi's name and what not, 100 articles per hour in his name was insane. Am not saying hybe didnt lie, they did they did not cleared up their own facts and honestly even yoongi messed up a bit in his statment. But we should not turn a blind eye for the medias behaviour as well. I hold yoongi accountable for his fault, but i also hold the media accountable for their fault to maximize the situation to great terms.

They put out songs about being a student (like "N.O") when some of them were still going to school. Maybe the outfits in the MV were a bit cringe but the message is relatable to a lot of people who experience the extreme pressure in school systems like that of South Korea.
