This was such a fun video! Apparently I am old fashioned at 44 (not surprising since I was raised by my Grandma). I have a beautiful punch bowl passed down from my mother in law and it's true, guests think it is so fun when I have a punch ready. I also have a set of about 15 milkgass dishes I found at goodwill that I use for every gathering along with inexpensive silverware from the dollar tree. At first my guests would tell me we could just use disposable but now everyone knows that's what we use even when we have a simple meal. My family gathers regularly at my home and there's generally 10-15 people. My suggestions would be to always have bottled water on the counter where anyone can grab it. And also, put everything in bowls and on plates, even chips or pickle spears. It looks nice and makes the food more accessible. Thanks!

We do need to get back to real socializing and less social media. Great ideas- and that cart is fabulous! I’ve been longing for the good ole days, as my mom always practiced hospitality. Thanks for the inspiration!

These were really fun tips! I struggle with hospitality. Maybe you could do an entertaining/hospitality series to help those of us who don't know what they're doing.🤣I'm a leftie too. I took handwriting classes in school. Have a great week!

First off, it’s so hard to believe you’re an introvert! These tips are all so wonderful!!! I’m going to share these with my daughters and discuss which ones we want to incorporate first! ❤️ Oh, and it’s so interesting how entertaining has changed over years. I remember my parents having couples over and us children were fed early and sent upstairs to watch something on my parents bedroom TV (a special treat!) while they dined and had fun. Nowadays it’s all about including the entire family WHICH I LOVE, but it did seem so special then and I couldn’t wait to be an adult.

I know but it’s true. A friendly introvert but an introvert nonetheless lol. Please do share. I think it’s such a great thing to revive. We watch old movies a lot and they show those gatherings quite often and I always think how nice it must have been to have so many dinners with friends and social things going on regularly instead every once in a while. And what a sweet memory. ❤️

I do have a record player and records and love it! I used an old tv cart on wheels, top and bottom shelf for a liquor cart, think outside the box. It’s also nice to bring a little thank you to the hostess, not required such as a small bouquet of flowers, pretty candles or such. Have a great weekend .

Thank you for sharing all this on your blog. I guess I'm old fashioned because I love reading blogs more than watching videos. I can take my time and make notes. I am 62 yo and raised in the South so my mama, aunts and grandmother taught us alot of these things. I love that you are reviving them.

Isn't that cute? The bar cart is such a fun piece for me to have of hers. I imagine how fun that was for her friends to enjoy with her. I too want to be great at entertaining, as with everything, it's a work in progress. Maybe having just one or two friends over for coffee to start with would be. good for you to try?
