#11 - Practical Questions: How Long and How Often Should I Pray? 

This one was difficult because it was like seeking to communicate the incommunicable.

"Your whole live will be lived coming forth from the secret place and going back to the secret place" ... never a truer word said

I surrendered my whole life to Jesus in my living room 11 years ago and when I felt Gods holy presence and his love it changed me forever and there's not a second that goes by that I don't think about him. Eric I relate to you so much and I cry every time I listen to you. The Lord shows me that it's because we are one in our quickened spirits. Jesus keep blessing my brother and Daniel and all their families.

Thank you so much. When it comes to time for prayer, I always pray on the move, continually, but I love this sermon about making time for prayer alone in the still and quiet. I found myself worrying I'm going to be late for work if I do that in the morning. But I did feel, in all my anxiety, that God spoke to me and asked me to be still for 10 minutes and stop and be with him alone before I ran around and went to work that day. I was afraid of running late, but I listened and did this. I felt so much peace through it and set up for the day. I looked at the clock afterwards and realised that time had waited for me and more importantly for my heavenly Father. I got ready and went to work, not having forgotten all the things I forget in my haste normally. I was not late and I was rested in my soul and set up for the day.

Andrew Murray 1828-1917 helped me on the simplicity of what it means to abide in Chris. He says just any moment you think of him just verbally acknowledge I abide in you and I trust in you and it will cultivate his constant presence. Wigglesworth learned to discipline himself and take time out every half hour to read the bible. Im blessed with a job that on the most part allows me to take time out every half-hour and read the Bible. I have found it very challenging to practice that. You get caught up in the rush rush of the day and begin to yield thoughts and emotions in a striving worldly way, and have to stop and smell the roses,(the rose of Sharon )and yeild thoughts and emotions in a peaceful Godly way.

Quality is better than quantity, I agree, at the same time it shouldn't excuse you from spending longer time with God. Remember even Jesus prayed from Midnight till morning, that's around 6 hours. I would recommend praying for atleast an hour a day. The more the better.

Around nine minutes in "Both of us fell in love in our lives [Eric and his wife], and you really don't have to remind yourself to think of her. She's constantly there. Because you love her. Her beauty just has taken you. I remember with my wife that's exactly how it was. I was so taken with her. I was thinking of her, and then everything else was thought of afterwards. I didn't really have to push myself to spend time with her, I was always going that way. So all my things that I had to do in my life, we're getting done SO THAT, you know, I could be with her. . .This is a love relationship."

I just can't live without praying. I mean each morning I pray I don't get distracted by the world. And I feel good after praying though some times I feel sad.

I really enjoy all that Eric teaches and Daniel you asked exactly the questions one would need to learn as a new Christian for example. But I find it a bit disappointing that even after re positioning the question again...of how often should we pray and for how long Eric has for some reason avoided the answer. We all know the more we pray the more our desire to do this develops. As an ex Muslim I used to pray 5x a day so its doable for sure even in a normal day to day life and sometimes its good to just say, try your best to Yes take an hour out Morning, Midday and evening to keep yourself Oiled and in the presence of Yeshua is all we need to hear. Some guidance to get those people started who have not yet reached the level you guys are at 😊 Bless you both for raising the questions and helping guide us to our Amazing Father in Jesus name 🙏🏾

Delight will swallow discipline

It’s not about people getting old but God doesn’t. It’s about seeing any created thing or seeing the Creator. It’s about faithfulness and holy fear or idolatry.

If you are busy, take five minutes in the car or the shower or bathroom, to pray, and then He will end up easing your day and before you know it, things will flow more smoothly and efficiently. Start your day with Him, and He will come into your day. And others (wife, family, church) will pray for you a d your day and job and your life and busyiness.

okI soo need to be more disciplined, but I find you can't put God on a clock if that makes sense :)
