I was in Bridgton in 1978. I had just turned 18 and remember the National Guard working on 128, etc.. in 1976 I helped paint the roof of a barn in Lovell. A Mr Koops. Great times.

You forgot to mention that if you're outside in that kind of weather for any length of time, the condensation from your nose and your mouth will freeze into ice on your beard and your mustache up to a1/4 inch. If you bring boiling water outside in an open container at that temperature it will freeze if you toss it into the air and it will turn into snow instantly.
I would love to move back. In central KY now with fake winters and very humid summers. Autumn is a bust as well. Spring is nice though. Frost kills nasty bugs and critters so that's ok. Love your cat's name, appropriate.

@@ceciliaromia New England is famous for its authors. Twice in my life I have lived in the same town as Stephen King. He used to come to our High school and talk. Very odd person. Coastal New England has MANY artist and art shows. Though, Maine has the best and longest coastline, in my opinion. Thanks for watching.
I grew up in CT. I’m now in Denver. Miss New England. Visited my folks during labor day and realized during the night that all I heard was crickets, owls, and rain. No sirens, no car alarms, no homeless screams tripping on drugs…amazing. I don’t think New England by the coast is bad at all. In Denver it snows just like this…except they don’t plow or clean roads. They don’t cancel things. Many accidents. 9n New England they cancel and give you at least 90 min delays or the day off lol.

Honestly, I hope people never discover that their is fun in New England. Hoping the exodus doesn’t come for the tranquility New England has kept for many years now. Nothing like driving to Maine or Vermont and return home on the same day.

Haha yes. We also had an old town cemetery in our back yard…so the naighbors we did have were very quiet! 😁. Interesting side note, the oldest stone with an inscription said “died 1813”. This fella could have lived in the 1700s!

The other three seasons are just terrible too, especially the one with all those dead leaves to clean up. Don't even take a peak at New England during those times. You know we have the great white sharks everywhere now. Even more reason to not consider moving here.
