Talking about elevators I think it is extremely rude when a handicapped person is waiting beside the elevator, waiting for all the people to exit and other people walk up, crowd those people to get on and not leaving enough room for the person that has been patiently waiting.
I TOTALLY AGREE. My wife has to use a scooter on board. We had to wait for three different elevators, because they were either crowded or people went in front of us to get on. There's a stigma with scooters now.
The thing I don't understand about people who don't give a hoot where their kids are, they're the same ones who comment that everyone is a creep just because they're talking to their kid. There were kids in the adult area, we just told them to go and find their parents - mother came in about 20 minutes later and said to me "my son told me what you said, don't tell my kids what to do." I said "Clearly someone has to."
Probably the same people who let their kids run amok in retain stores, messing with the window mannequins or yanking down piles of folded clothing from tables…
On our last cruise, the couple in the balcony next door played their music cube constantly from their balcony. We liked much of their music but would have preferred hearing the ocean waves. On the last few nights of the cruise, the music stopped and constant cursing and fighting ensued, complete with "f" words and other colorful adjectives. They obviously were not having fun together at that point and I don't think they realized how their voices carried through the cabin walls and out the balcony when that door was open. Maybe not intentionally rude, just disruptive to their next-door cabin mates.
I have 2 chair hog stories. 1st, we got back from an excursion about 3pm, made our way to lido and there were a couple chairs that were saved near us. Fast forward a few minutes, people showed up. They were on our excursion! They saved the chairs, and were not even on the ship. 2nd, we were on the CCL Liberty looking for chairs on the lido. Oh there's a couple not being saved. We put our stuff down and a voice from the chairs in the shade say, those are ours for when we want the sun. We sat down, they couldn't do anything.
@@allytrudie864 I don’t think it is asking too much for people to have a basic grasp of elevator etiquette. The rules are pretty basic. I live in a high rise, I work in a high rise, and 99%of the time people adhere to standard elevator and escalator etiquette. It is essentially just common courtesy - letting people off the elevator before getting on is a very basic concept.
This a huge one for me too! It is so simple. Let people off the elevator before you get on. Stand to the side or step out of the elevator to allow people behind you to get off the elevator. Do not let your children hit the button for every single floor. Common courtesy is not rocket science. Don’t push in front of others. My city is also very big on escalator etiquette - stand on the right and allow people to pass on the left. Violating this rule will get you many angry looks. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Cutting in line, at the bar, the buffet or waiting for the restroom by the pool. Sadly this happens everywhere. I work in a bar and get in line if I want to order food from the kitchen. I can't tell you how often someone shoulders their way in front of me and demands the bartender's attention. Which is also rude.
Please don't change a child's diaper anywhere near a foodservice area. I had a family on the Celebration do this on a table in the Lido Buffet area. I get accidents happen, but ffs, go find a restroom or return to your stateroom.
I understand that kids will be kids but on our last cruise I couldn't take it anymore. After several nights of banging on doors, running down hallways, and loudly screaming profanities, I found out who were the culprits and i knew which room they were staying in. I plotted my revenge and waited until the casino closed. I kindly slid a note underneath the door explaining what their children had been up to in the previous days.I knocked SOO loud on the door and im sure it scared the shit out of them! I explained that this would be a daily occurrence if they couldn't keep their children in check. It was never my goal to stoop that low but sometimes you have to fight fire with fire.We never heard a peep from that group the rest of the cruise.
We took each of our grandchildren on a seven day cruise for their thirteenth birthday. They were given a list of rules to follow such as no running anywhere except on the sports deck, no loud noises or voices in any hallway, ect. The consequences of breaking any of the rules were, spending the rest of rhe cruise with me, and never being taken on a cruise again. Five of six got taken again for sweet sixteen. Sixth one is now a doctor and taking us on a cruise.
I'm a woman and i was 78 yrs old; when this happened. 2 little buggers maybe age 6 and 8 came running down the hall and one punched me in the stomach really hard as he ran by. I passed a loud fart and then they both laughed their heads off while i was in agony. I saw them several more times including once when they both punched a cake that was on display and i tried to give them a threatening lecture because there were no parents around. But again they just laughed and ran away. Not sure who to complain to about them so i just let it go. Never did figure out who the parents were because those kids seemed to be on their own 24/7 Kind of wish now that i had reported it to someone because those little brats are only going to get worse.
I was on my very first cruise as an adult last month and I saw two rude passenger within the first day ,in fact first hours of leaving.😮 I was on On the Coral Princess last month I was walking past the ice creamery on the lido deck when I saw an unhappy Older couple. They said to the only crew member there, who was tidying up for the night, You people have no idea what you are doing! Then they they walked off. I went up and said to the crew member, don’t worry about people like that’s. You are all doing a wonderful job, which he really appreciated. What is wrong with people!
Wifes first time on a cruise! Super excited!! 😊 luckily were cabin 13005 on MSC for the april sailing so were literally 2 decks under all the main amenities with a staircase right around the corner! We will be avoiding those dam elevators lol
One thing that I consider rude is wasting food - in the buffet resaturants, I often see people stack theire plates full with an amount of food they can't possibly finish.

I had to open my cabin door and ask a group of people to please talk somewhere else, like a full blown conversation in my doorway…it was past midnight! So inconsiderate
I travel pretty often and keep strange hours, which finds me needing to sleep during the hectic part of the day. I found these sleep headphones on Amazon. They are like a headband, and they have different ones that are also sleep masks to block out any light. Anyway, I put on some white noise or a thunderstorm sound, and I can sleep through anything. They're inexpensive as well. They're only in the $20 dollar range.
@lightwarrior432 As someone who grew up in Baltimore City, I agree that being aware of your surroundings is important. With that being said, hyper-vigilance will rob you of your awareness. You need to have down time. You need to get your rest. Honestly, if you are worried about sleeping behind a locked door on a cruise ship, then you probably shouldn't be traveling in the first place. The only occasion where I am maybe not rude, but abrupt with crew members is when they are rude to me first- I’m particularly sensitive to people who are rude to my wife who is confined to a wheelchair and has a mild speech impediment… She is pretty easily understandable by most people, she encounters, but we have had a few occasions where crewmembers have mocked my wife behind her back, thinking we didn’t hear, and we’ve been very abrupt to them to their faces, reported them to their managers and reported them to guest services!
The core issues are entitlement and lack of consideration. There are those who don't think any guidelines apply to them. Then there are those who think they're deputized to play hall monitor and police that group. If there are recurrent issues with a particular brand, dig a little deeper and find a cruise line that aligns with your expectations. Based on experience, some of these issues will never change. Find a line that does it better.
I find it in credibly rude of people on the larger ships to send one person to the theater over an hour early to hold seats for those that are still eating or shopping. I agree with you about there not being any excuse for being rude to a crew member but what happens when they are rude to you. On my last cruise I had a guest service person that was incredibly rude to me and rather that stooping to his level I just told him he was rude and walked away. I also fell victim to a pack of 10/12 yrs old of boys that thought it was funny and fun to run by me and push my guide dog, that is until they got caught by fellow passengers. I too blame the parents for not teaching their children manners and respect.
My biggest on is hygiene and hand shaking with people I don’t know, because many people just don’t wash their hands. If I’m going on a family vacation, that’s what I’m planning to do- things with my kids. Not leave them with people I don’t know.
It's just like high school, put on sunglass have no expression and walk on your side of the hallway and point your eyes at them, and don't change your gait they will move

If you go anywhere and let your kids run a rampage it's rude. Grocery store, mall...anywhere it's rude. It's not unrude because you're on vacation and yes it is the parents fault they tolerate this behavior. If my kids did this there would defiantly be privileges removed.
Line cutters! Before YTD was a thing we were waiting for the MDR doors to open. A group of people shoved their way to the doors loudly letting everyone know they were staying in the owner's suite. Funny thing, they were on the wrong floor. LOL
I find it extremely rude and indifferent to all on board, when passengers leisurely stroll back to the ship, late, but do not care at all that they are not following the orders of the captain.
Had an excursion that made three stops on the way to the beach. Each stop was for thirty minutes. Each stop one couple was twenty minutes late getting back to the bus. The air conditioner in the bus pumped out hot air when the bus was not moving. We waited Forty-five minutes for the same couple who complained that we only had two hours at the breach instead of the three hours we were supposed to have. Gee, I wonder why! Now we have rush hour traffic going back to the ship,. We were late arriving back to the ship.
my biggest gripe is parents that allow their kids to go and touch everything on the buffet and cough and sneeze all over the food. I saw this to many times last week while on a cruise.
When it's busy, I don't like when people just sit at a slot machine not playing anything. Usually, they're waiting for a drink or watching a friend at the tables. That really grinds me especially when you ask if they're playing and they say yes and still don't play 👎🏾
I loved your video. What a found very often are the people at the buffet restaurant. After their meals they start playing cards or chatting, while there is a lot of people looking for an empty table with the plates in their hands. Those people playing they dont care. After their meal they should move to a common place and leave the table free. I have seen passengers eating near the pool due to this situation which I consider really rude. Also is horrible to see that passengers go to the public bathroom and they dont wash their hands. :(
Loud talking in the dining areas. Some people simply cannot have a conversation that is limited to their table only. I can assure you, nobody else wants to hear every word of your conversation. We sat at a table for two right beside a table for 6 and the man sitting next to me could not contain his voice and it got really uncomfortable listening to his profanity. When he dropped the f word a few times, my husband politely asked that he watch his language. He was shocked being confronted and claimed he never cusses. The look on his table mates was priceless bc they all heard his words as well and his denial of his own speech was unbelievable!
Most times I prefer to take the stairs. Unless I'm going seven decks or more. Don't like to sit out by the pool so I can't be a chair hog. Always use hand sanitizer and/or sinks. Bring a jacket and tie. Always go into MDR with a collared shirt. And always bring black shoes. Most times I'm by myself, who am I going to talk to? Why be disrespectful to a crew member? After all, they are there to help you.
I agree with all of these and would like to add one of my own. PLEASE don’t blow your nose at the breakfast, lunch ordinner table. It’s just disgusting and disrespectful.
I saw kids on the adults only Deck and without any adults I was very nice and asked them to leave other thing that kind of bothered me while on the serenity Deck was people being extremely loud in the quiet area
The only problem I've ever had on my Carnival cruises was from bad parents refusing to be responsible for their children because "They're on vacation" and simply don't care that others are as well!
My biggest complaint is people on vacation who let the actions of others annoy them. Getting on a floating city with thousands of public of course people are going to be rule breakers- just like on land. If you let the actions of others bug you or effect you then that is a YOU problem and you should probably never leave the house. 🤷 all this to say- get a life. When you realize you can only control yourself and not others you will be a much happier person.
@@allytrudie864 When people break the rules that impacts me, that annoys me. Does it ruin my cruises? It hasn't yet. But, yes, I am allowed to be annoyed. When adults allow their children in the adult spaces, taking up precious lounger real estate, playing in the hot tubs, that annoys me.
I agree with all of the comments. Adults are loud in the hallways at night, too. Also, in shows people are drunk and screaming and are very disruptive. The bigger the ship... the more rude people are on board.
On our last cruise we had no problems with people being loud in the hallway. It was someone, every night from 10:00 to11:00, yelling into a microphone in the casino directly below our room. It was suggested that I close the fire doors by the elevators. Made no difference. The sound was coming up through the floor. Another cruise our room was near the forward elevators. Every night the Cruise Director was hosting a music show in the atrium. The volume from this show was 105 to 115 decibels up on the tenth floor. Closing the fire doors did help on this trip but was still loud enough to wake us up.
You are SO~~SO CORRECT with the LOUD NOISE in the Hallways after 11:00PM. People are just PIGS with BIG MOUTHS talking LOUD OR letting their kids RUN DOWN the Hallways Yelling at the top of their lungs! Come on Parents....don't let your kids ACT like ANIMALS on a Farm!! Not sure WHY they also let their door SLAM next to yours at 1:00 AM either! We ALWAYS HOLD the door and let it close quietely to show respect for our neighbor!
On a cruise to Brazil and passengers got a tour guide fired for pointing out corruption in Brazil. I think to that this woman unprovoked attacked a Brazilian man and ended his employment. Truly a great guy and great tour guide. Economic conditions in Brazil the employment termination might have destroyed him.
The thing I don't like is people going to the bar or restaurant and saying "Give me..." to the bartender or server. Just as easy to say "can I have..." or "I would like...". Also, bad kids on ship are a direct reflection of their parents. You can be sure that if a kid is bad on a ship, the parents also exhibit some of the behaviors you discussed in this video.
Don't play music, or take a phone call, or watch a video with sound, in a public area, including your balcony. No one around you wants to hear it. Cruising used to be the one place I could escape this obnoxious behavior but with wifi prices being more reasonable now, it's starting to creep into cruise life as well.
On Adventure of the Seas the adult area/ solarium is situated in such a way that it’s hard not to walk through. I felt bad every time I walked through this area with my grandchildren as I want to respect the adult only solarium.
Not so much an issue anymore, but all the people that showed up late or didn't listen when the in person muster was a requirement. Now, I've just resigned to the fact that it's going to be an absolute shitshow if there is an honest-to-god true emergency on a vessel
6:41 In my opinion, being loud in the hallway at ANY TIME is rude. People take naps at variety of times or just want peace and quiet. For every 20 rooms you pass in the hallway, at least one will have someone sleeping with several others trying to take a quiet break.
Kids were blowing bubbles at us in the atrium and also roughhousing next to me.. i am in a wheelchair.. parents did not intervene.. my husband told the kids to stop..😮 they almost punched me and knocked me over.. we will now avoid family cruises..
I always love watching your content. The main thing I like is that you only post like at most once a week. This makes your posts a novelty. So many of the other content creators feel like they have to post every day and it does get boring and repetitive. And they all copy cat the same latest cruise news. I really think they just watch each other's content. I've seen this kind rude list before but it's always great to hear your take. And next time they sit me next to two MAGA leaning couples at my specialty dining I'm asking my waiter to move me.

WHY ARE VERY YOUNG CHILDREN ALOWED IN A HOT TUB ? I WAS IN A HOT TUBE SEVERAL YEARS BACK & WE ALL KNOW THERE ARE NOT ALOT OF HOT TUBS ON THE SMALLER CRUISE SHIPS & LITERALLY THERE WERE 5 OR 6 VERY SMALL KIDS IN THE HOT TUB WITH ME AND THEY WERE DIVING, JUMPING ALL-AROUND, SPLASHING, AND ALL I COULD THINK OF WAS WHERE WERE THEIR PARENTS? I CRUISED BACK IN 1964, 9 YRS., OLD & NO WAY DID WE ACT UP ON THE SHIP OR ANYWHERE…OR I WOULD GET PUNISHED. SADLY, SOME CRUISE SHIPS HAVE LET ALOT GO.
Elevators are the worse areas. Hand washing is next. Disembarkation is next. That is where all rudeness comes out. I even had to experience my wife getting in some guy's face because he thought it was OK to cut in front of people in line. That was a first. She was irritated with the rude people.
On Costa lines, at least the ones doing Med runs over and over such as the Pacifica -- deck chair are "saved" from as early as 6 a.m.....young children (and babies, in diapers) are brought into the "adults only" jacuzzis and pool....pre-teens and teens are jammed into "adults only" jacuzzis and pools having parties, throwing drinks around in the pool/jacuzzi, running and pushing (literally) people out of the way, playing "knock and run" down the halls at 1 and 2 a.m.........they are brought into the "adults only" spa area....hand sanitizing at the buffet? Nope, the kids (under the seeing eyes of parents, friends and management alike) pick up food from the buffet, sniff it and put it back.......a little bit "rude" 😉😂
When in the MDR, I focus on my meal and my companion. Even if I don’t “feel” like someone’s attire is appropriate, that’s on them not me. It has nothing to do with MY vacation and everything to do with THEIR vacation. If the crew/staff allows them in the MDR then IMO it must be acceptable.
You sound way too normal to be a cruiser. Maybe if more people cruised who were normal like you the general public would be more likely to cruise. Cruisers are an “interesting” and annoying bunch. They all seem way too involved in policing others behaviour and that is way more annoying than people who might be behaving badly or annoyingly like they are on their own vacation lol

We saw a man literally place his sandals in the pool…yes we were in there, and WASH his gross sandals in the pool! OMG! Then he set them to the side to dry…I locked eyes with another passenger and we were stunned at the gross, dirty lack of etiquette….disgusting! People come on!
Recently on a Celebrity off Santa Barbara there was more then a usual swell bouncing the tender, and my wife was about to lose it when the opportunity came to beeline it for the gangway, and she did cutting off an older lady that was mad as hell about it. I tried to be polite towards her but she just wanted to be a victim and tell everyone she could. Next time I’ll ask my wife to Ralf on her back instead,
For the chair hogs - Put your stuff on a chair at 5 AM and show up at 10 AM thinking it's OK - My policy is after 30 minutes all your crap gets thrown in the garbage and I now have some nice seating to use. That's kind of harsh but some people simply don't get with the program because you should be polite and considerate. Finding your stuff in the garbage can usually puts an end to hogging chairs.
People from other countries find it very perplexing that Americans talk so much politics, wear political clothing etc. We don’t talk much politics in my country . I don’t even tell my spouse who I vote for in the elections why would I discuss it with a stranger?
That knife cuts both ways. The absolute rudest thing on my last cruise on the Carnival Breeze was giving a greeting to non Service Staff, like Maintenance workers and being completely ignored.
Thinking a "relaxing" vacation is being crammed in on a ship with 4k + people is a disturbing thought, to me anyway. Akin to going to walmart on a Sunday afternoon. The fact that these rude behaviors need to be pointed out to grown people doesn't say much for society.
Elevators - typical consideration. Seats - I take what is not sat in. Political clothing - crew and passengers are so diverse…no biggie Handwashing - overrated activity. Just like 6 feet Dress code - cruise casual is my only dress code. Most people play well. Adults only - no concern. Most play well. Tongs - use them Hallways - be considerate. Theaters - typical consideration. Nothing unique to cruising Crew - be nice/respectful Kids - typical consideration nothing to do with cruises
Not on a cruise ship but in a motel my great nephews age 8 and 10 pushed all the elevator buttons when they got to the top floor a man grabbed them and took them in a abandoned room beat both boys with a toilet tank lid the ten yearold was killed and the8 year old lived.
Heartbreaking story and the prime reason not to let any children run around unsupervised. There are evil people in the world who do evil things. And what may be a mild irritation to most people, could trigger something unimaginable.
Oh, the political talk! My roommate on a recent cruise had too much to drink and started arguing with someone about politics! I have the opposite position from her, but I managed to get her away and back to the cabin ASAP! Very embarrassing!
Passengers who fill their personal water bottles without using a fresh/clean cup to do so. On top of this, they almost ALWAYS let the edge of their DISGUSTING water bottle come in DIRECT CONTACT with the spout of the water/juice dispenser. GROSS!!!
Playing a Bluetooth speaker in public areas, like the adults-only pool, should be at the top of the list! This is extremely annoying and disrespectful to everyone around you. So is talking loudly in calmer spaces. A lot of people like to find quiet spots outside to just relax and read a book, NOT to listen to others spout out idiotic things.
so rude! acting like you are in the middle of a field with no one else around you! oblivious to anyone walking near you. blocking walkways with groups of 4, 6, 8 people just chit chatting same groups walking abreast or opposite to flow of traffic. walking in a crowd and expecting everyone around you to move out if your way. allowing your m7nckins to run ahead with that eame mentality. Everyone has to dodge them, they NEVER have to respect others personal space. Even at home my kids are/were taught IT IS NOT OKAY TO RUN INTO ANOTHER PERSON! Kids running around the buffet while other people are carrying plates of food or drinks. Leave your kids at the table and go get their food. Don't stand at the buffet and serve 6 kids different things while everyone else waits behind you (what would you like honey?) You know what your kids will eat! Just go fill up some big plates with what they will eat and go back to the table and feed them family style! Don't take babies (up to 3 or 4) on a cruise. Leave them with someone. Sorry if you don't have someone to watch them, but if so stay home until they are old enough to REMEMBER 5he vacation or just take them to the beach or park. It will be more relaxing for you too!

You will have this and that to deal with! How stressful would it be for me to make sure I’m back on the ship on time while in port! I could not relax knowing that I only have so long in a port, and that I must be back on before the ship sails! No, thanks!
It's been a few years since I have sailed though repeatedly on Princess Cruises women exercise the opportunity to be tyrants of the sea. I get the sense off ship women never get to be their true self and gaining the title Princess they naturally become horrible. Abusing male crew members and demanding completely empty pool decks not be used because they placed a random towel on a chair. Publicly demanding a Cruise refund because they are generally unhappy. Publicly protesting that cheap Cruise tickets were sold. The abuse of male crew members is so random and unjustified that clearly women are a security risk.
It is UNFORGIVABLE to let your cabin door S-L-A-M. "QUIETLY CLOSE YOUR DOOR" so you don't disturb your neighbors. And DO dress up for dinner on nicer cruise lines. ESPECIALLY on 'Chic" or Formal Nights. Wives/girlfriends, don't let your guy wear jeans. NO HATS in the dining room. If you can't dress up... stick to Carnival!
