11 Shortcuts on the Mandolin 

Been playing guitar for years as well. Got a mandolin and have just been doing chromatic exercises to get used to the scale of the instrument. It is quite an adjustment when you're used to having more real estate between your fingers. I think these exercises will help. They are boring and un-musical, but they work.

He plays a D7 and a G7

I was just thinking the exact same thing, I came straight to comments hoping I would see something about it.

@@MicahFoxxMusic So you're saying he's playing the b7 and 5th to make the chord D7? And the same for G7? Just playing b7 and 5th to make the chords. Leaving out the root and third?
