This was great, Alex! I love seeing and hearing all the beautiful high end ones, but this is more what I might actually be able to buy right now LOL...so I appreciate the video a lot. I have the Islander...have given it to my Dad though, so am lacking a tenor to play around with. I liked a few of these, will go back and listen again. The last two Snails were nice...I surprised myself by preferring the sound of the 6T over the 5T...that was unexpected. Thanks again!
I am very pleased with my Kai 700, and I'm looking forward to upgrade my laminate mahogany tenor, so the Kai 100M is very tempting! Thanks for the reviews, Alex!
My two choices Kai 700 purchased waiting for arrival. Will see how it goes then add the Kai 100M. Solid cedar tops are maybe not as stunning looking as the fancy Acacia but solid cedar has a place with those that love cedar classical guitar tops.
Alex, thank you so much for doing this for us. I know how much hard work goes into doing these types of videos. Very time consuming. I think all those Ukes are great at their price point. For me personally .. loved the sound of the Kai KTI-5000. Thanks again.
I like the kala bmb & Uma baby tennor. The KTI 5000 is a beaut but have the concert version, so would probably go for something with different characteristics. Very hard to choose between the ukes, in this selection. 👏
I find these videos very helpful in to choose my tenor uke Alex. Have you done one for tenors in the next price range. My budget is around £400. Thanks.
Really nice video and selection. I know that it is probably harder to come by, but couldn't the Millar TM 260 be on this list too ? It is just under 300£ and sounds and feels really nice. Maybe it lacks some blings to catch the eyes of a beginner, but what it does not put into decoration, it went into the sound !
@@SouthernUkuleleStore For sure, there are so many really nice ukes nowadays in that price bracket that making a selection should be a daunting task ^^. But it's all good for the players in the end !
I have a UMA pineapple soprano.. i love it. veri affordable. Taiwanese company. smallest uke and i have 4 more up to two Tenors.. kala and oscar schmidt,
I've got the Kai- KT30, all laminate mango which I love to bits so my natural choice would be the Kai-KTI-5000. I'm a classical guitar player so would a uke to end all purchases be the Kai KTI-5000 or an Anuenue AMM3? Thank you for any replies.
The AnueNue is twice the price so it's unfair to directly compare them. The Kai stands out if you are spending £300 but what you get for £400-800 is quite a step up.
Tenors have a 17 inch distance from the nut to the bridge and Concerts are about 20% smaller in size with a distance of 15 Inches between nut and saddle.
@@SouthernUkuleleStore is there a tenor ukulele under 260 euro that gave bright sounf like the snail and glight victoria tenor ? and a wide nut almost 36,5 mm?
Thanks very much. This is just the video I want right now. However, I just can’t buy an instrument without playing it first. Are you planning on opening the shop from 12th April?
