Depends, you don't really need much butter and a 50/50 balance is usually pretty good, maybe 60/40 in favour of the Vegemite. If its a Vegemite and cheese sandwich you can up it to 80/20 or even 90/10 without issue. If its on dry Weet-Bix probably want more butter than Vegemite though.

It always makes me laugh when I hear someone say that the way we sell alcohol in this country is to make it more inconvenient to buy. WTF? ...... you don't even have to get out of your car to buy alcohol in this country, the only way it could possibly be more convenient is to get it delivered to your door, which is what you can also get. I mean, it's bizarre when people think that buying alcohol at the supermarket or servo is more convenient than not even having to get out of the car to start with lol. Some people need to look up the meaning of "convenient"

She covered so much in this video, almost every topic could use its own video. Like Footy, footy means something different in terms of the type of game depending on which part of the country you’re from. Nippers, not all kids do this. I grew up around the beach and surfing, but only the kids whose parents had money or were really into surfing etc. put their kids in Nippers when I was coming up. But almost every kid went to swimming lessons young. I started at 6mths. By year 9 of high school (so 14 y/o), I had my bronze medallion and my first responders cert that I got in physed at school. Massive water culture here. We’re very socially conscious. Like this morning on our dog walk, we saw a lady and her kids struggling to get the helmet off a public scooter. We couldn’t walk past without trying to help. This is why you’ll find most ppl won’t be invited to a party or BBQ without at least taking a bottle of wine. And although you probably won’t get dog 💩 on your shoes here (pretty much everyone picks it up and bags are provided for free by the council), we don’t put our feet up on stuff - only gronks with bad manners do that (I say as I look and see my foot on the coffee table 😂😂)

It wasn’t the Dutch, it was the British who brought the flushing toilet to Australia and then later, we added an improvement to save water, we invented the dual flush system. The idea behind the dual-flush toilet is to conserve water. The concept came from Japan in the 1960s and was not well known, until Australian company, Caroma came up with a more practical design flushing with 5.5 litres and 11 litres that was then reduced when the design caught on in the country to 6 litres and 3 litres.

G'day. Love your work. Here's some actual truths about Australia, as opposed to this woman's video (along with most of her other "Australia" videos). 1. This woman has many videos about Australia, but admits that she has never been out of central Sydney, (not even the outer suburbs), and thus knows almost nothing about the country at all, including historically and culturally. Almost all of her videos contain multiple untruths. 2. The Dutch brought absolutely NOTHING of value (culturally) to Australia. Toilets came from British influence only. 3. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCE WHATSOEVER put Vegemite on ANYTHING as thickly as the idiot on the video. Spread sparingly with a decent amount of butter. Vegemite can be kept in the pantry or the fridge, and was NOT made to mimic Marmite, but as an alternative. That's a modern myth. 4, You WILL find SOME supermarkets (like Aldi for example) that absolutely sell alcohol. 5. Housewarming gifts are common. Just like the U.S. 6. Due to the earth's axis, Australia has more direct sunlight than anywhere else on the planet. It has (by far) the brightest sunlight of any country, but with that comes the higher risk of getting sunburnt...plus skin cancer. Kids are generally the most at risk, thus the wearing of hats, but not all schools carry out this practice/rule. 7. You're absolutely correct regarding wheelie bags being invented later. They are also completely impractical on almost all uneven surfaces, especially for kids. 8. Kangaroos are more likely to attempt to disembowel you with their back legs than "box" with you. I hope this clears up some of her misinformation. Cheers from Oz.

Hard Rubbish is a local government service fo removal. Practice varies between councils: some have a period of 2-4 weeks when the rubbish is gradually collected by a contracted recycling collector. Others allow you two collections per year and you book a pickup with your local administration. Once you have placed materials on your "sidewalk" it is supposed to be locked up. But lots of people scrounge useful stuff from these collections.

1. Never had a separate loo till I moved out of my parents home. Ive never seen a bidet. 2. Love Vegemite, not alot tho, mixed with lots of butter. 3. Alcohol is not something u need to stock in a supermarket. 4. We have an annual clean up that council provides which is a blessing, pickers take what they want n council takes the rest. 5. House warmings were originally for those who bought their first home. A plant is often the gift most give. 6. GP office will do the pap for u. Most general complaints can be handled by the gp, saving specialists from being inundated. 7. I was never a fan of afl, I was raised in an nrl family. 8. No hat, no play. Kids obey this rule all thru school. 9. Yup, kills kids backs. 10. I still get excited when I see our wildlife. We are so blessed. 11. If u live coastal, most kids will do some form of swim program. Surf safety, nippers, swim lessons. It's a must in our environment.

I've owned a number of houses here in NZ and never have I come across a toilet bowl in a bathroom. I'm sure they exist but they are not the norm. And if you plastered Vegemite on as in the clip of course it would be foul. A little is all that is needed. Like anything used in excess it ruins the taste, imagine a steak with a cup of salt on it!

I think some of these vegemite comments are misleading, the amount of vegemite varies from person to person acccording to taste. Some people love vegemite and will slather it on or eat it straight from the jar, others only like a little taste of vegemite, a thin transparent layer to add just the hint of vegemite. If you're not raised on vegemite start small bedore trying to build up to your preferred flavour intensity. Starting at maximum intensity is a very bad idea.

10:44 I think giving gifts at house warming parties was more common in the past, I remember it when I was a kid, these days people are more likely to bring a bottle of wine or some chocolate or something.

If you spread Vegemite as shown in this clip... R.I.P. .. that person is either super hardcore Australian or has never had Vegemite ever, I'm British by birth and love my Vegemite but I know how to use the product carefully and everyone is happy. I know of people who have been damaged for life by overly heavy Vegemite spreading on first use 😢

Charlie, if you do get to try Vegemite, please do NOT spread it like in the video. Spread butter on the bread or toast and a little bit of Vegemite, about the size of a small fingernail on top. Also you can add cheese and tomato on top and the under the grill. Yum!! 😊😊

Marmite uses a different yeast and has other different ingredients iirc and is a much worse flavour.

I have a modern home with three bathrooms each with a toilet, oh and a rain water tank that provides water for flushing with a dual half/full flush button on the cistern which saves water in a country prone to drought. Most new one and two storey homes do provide a single toilet separate from the bathrooms, just for convenience. You can see a specialist MD without a GP referral, but it is going to cost you a lot more without the GP referral. Kangaroos hind legs are far more dangerous than their front (boxing) legs. If they come at you, you have to turn side on to protect yourself because they balance on their tail and can gut you, but you are still in danger of some serious injuries to your hip and rear muscles.

Bulk / hard rubbish collection is once a year and the council comes and collects the rubbish and disposes of it

Flushing the Loo when someone is in the shower will cause Screams of Pain, you have been warned. Separate toilets are the best, but more modern constructions tend to have them in the same room to save money.
