Hey I liked without music. The only time I feel vloggers get into trouble is when they sit and talk at the camera. Saying we did this we did that as if we can picture it somehow. Also I am not a fan when vloggers start thinking it is because of how great they are that I watch. I have learned to respect what your doing but I am a sailor so I want to see you guys on the boat striving for the same life I want. Your heroes in any respect keep up the good work.
I like the change in pace. I really miss spearfishing but life changes. You hit a good day with visibility. I have been in ten thousand islands with visibility about 2 feet. Thanks and keep the vid coming you haven't disappointed me yet just make me miss living there. LOL
That was interesting in to see the local reef. I liked without music the commentary much more interesting than music. Randi I dont know about swimming with the modern mega fins but I do notice watching others they seam to have a more full leg style of swimming , sort of makes sense to use the entire leg, dunno. The sand all over the reef surface is that normal? , more remote reefs seem to have less , just wondering if it's more 'churned up silt in water' Cheers Warren
This was way more interesting than boat tours or diy. This is the first of your videos I have watched to the end in quite some time. Great job. Some sailing would be great too.
Hey Jordan and Randi I'm finally getting caught up on all of your videos. Had to get a new computer so I could watch them full screen instead of my phone. Good to see you out having some fun. Thanks for the video as usual.
I enjoyed the different content. These are well built boats. Be careful, you guys gonna change your plans for sailing around the world to chasing on the Key West boat living in Florida? LOL I know you guys still have a dream to pursue sailing.. Thanks for sharing!
I like the commentary without the music. Even if it is a power boat, you could walk us around it. I know I like power boats, too. Especially center console fishing boats.
Scuba is pretty and all but I get bored watching it fairly quick. It is more like background or a screen saver. And it is something more that I would prefer to see live in person, than watching on some video. I agree, the spearfishing was lil bit more entertaining to me. Especially with the talking. I actually sat and watched the entire thing, rare as I was expecting to stop after half minute to a minute.
Liked the different activity video. It is nice to see different things from different places you guys visit. Also, like the side mounted go pro very good video angle and frees up your hands. Keep up the great videos!!
Oh yeah, on the fins touching when you kick, don't kick from your hips, kick from your knees. If I remember that from SCUBA lessons correctly. I'm slightly bow-legged and the tips of my fins would touch because my feet pointed in just a little.
I loved the video! I'd love to do these things so I live vicariously through you. The commentary during the dive was better than music in my humble opinion. I felt like I was experiencing the dive with you. THANKS!
Loved the video. I enjoy the new content. We don't always need to see boat tours and DIY. It's good to see your other interests and Randi. your kicking with those fins needs to be wider, ie more full leg. The stroke of the fin is not getting its full potenial. Watch the blade where it is bending in the opposite direction than the power stroke and not getting the full stroke of the fin. Not criticizing just what I could see. I have been following you all since the beginning and own a power boat but love your channel .
I remember Conch Reef and Sombero Light ( off 7 mi. bridge) were great in the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s for spear fishing! There use to be beautiful stag & elk horn reefs back then! Watch out for the fire coral & Cuda! LOL
It's always nice to see the bottom and the reefs but little description of them, meaning health, abundance and diversity of sea life and the like. But that seems to be all the other sea RU-vidrs as well when they go diving. Oh well. Cheers and looking forward to the next one.
Hey Guys, let the moment and circumstances dictate wether sound or music are appropriate. Both are good for your channel. You certainly have your videography down! Luv all your vids!
I enjoyed the commentary. Though getting away from the DYI on sailboat renovation, you seem to have a good grasp on your followers as I like the diversion from what you normally produce. That said, waiting for you getting back to your boat.
Just finished watching most of your vids..took about 3 weeks, haha...I didnt watch much of the tours of boats, as that's not my interest, even though the view counts show very popular. I do like the comentary over music any day. I'll be in the keys in a few days, maybe I'll run into yinz. :-) I know of another teacher in marathon that also has a channel, Florida keys wooden boat fishing...he's a math teacher. I really enjoyed following your story and patiently waiting to see how it turns out. Wishing yinz all the best, from Pgh,Pa.
Randi, you were saying you are hitting your fins together, instead of trying to power from your knees, use your hips and keep your knees locked...ish, when swimming make the power from your hips and use your legs like scissors, this should help propel you faster with less energy expended......
That looked like fun. Good content and I liked the play by play of the dives. Maybe I missed it but you could do a short boat tour of Freebie sometime just to show us what your doing.
I enjoyed the spearfishing. Branching out to show different aspects of the sailing life style is a great idea just cause you sail doesn't mean that is the only thing you might do. The power boat gig is super cool. I like the narrating on the video. I think maybe a little music with some transition to talk would be the key. Keep up the great work guys. Hope things are working out on getting back closer to the boat. Until our courses cross, fair winds and full sails. Jack and Billie never2old adventures
Great video guys! I personally like a little background music even during a voiceover. Will still enjoy your videos either way! Cheers, Scott and Becky. 😁
Can you speak a little about licenses required to spear fish? Are you a Florida resident, is it just a fishing license or something more. I'd love to learn to do this...
Randy, It looks like you are rolling your hips alot (like swiming laps) and when you are looking around you are bending your torso which also twists your legs this might be causing some fin binding, try a induce a bit more peddle motion in your kicks (knees down, not too much) and when finning remember control your ankles and legs they are your powerhouse (drive your movement from there). Other tips would be to work on duck diving, try and keep you fins down low and don't wave them about, try and get to the bottom stay still, use calm slow deliberate motion, stalk your prey do not chase it. Practice, practice, practice, take gradual steps, know your limmits, selective harvesting is the key ...... not the biggest fish, or the most, take what you need, know your species, take your shot clean, always carry a suitable dispatching dive knife (with line cutter) and learn to iki jime your fish (www,ikijime.com), and use as much of the fish as possible. Respect the ocean
Much appreciate the change of pace. I live near Cooperstown NY (Sneiders Bakery) and am looking into doing the live aboard in the Keys. I'm a full time single dad with an 8 year old boy. Will be looking for a boat and docking. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated
Have been fishing off shore out of Port Canaveral with my brother and caught a Yellow Tail, so we broke out the Wasabi and soy sauce and had sushi. It was really good :)
I lived in the Keys in the 70es and early 80es. Used to dive and spearfish a lot. It kind of looked a little grey,,,,,Has the reef bleaching had a big effect there?
That was interesting. I don't know anything about spear fishing. The voice-over was good too. Sometimes music (from any content creator) can be a little too much. But this was nice. Next time, maybe music. Who knows? Do what you want.
I was reading some of the other comments about music with the comments and it is ok but lower the volume of the music if you want music with the comments. Personally I have trouble hearing what you have to say with the music so loud
Hallo, my dears! Watching you diving without any music, and the commentary was amazing! Just stopped at 4.58! Maybe, however, if you see something, introduce the music!
Good video. I’m fine with the change of pace and prefer the commentary in lieu of music. That said my preference would be to see you producing videos you like.
Comments are always better than music drowning out the the what you have to say. Don’t play music over what you are talking about. Adding it in between ok
HaHa 60ºF that's T-shirt weather. It's just above freezing here and it's a warm day. That's close to bathwater. You guys wearing wetsuits. We swim in bathing suits in the lake up here and the water is 50ºF at the most.
Definitely need music which you fade down when you are talking. It can be a little jarring when you aren't talking and then you start talking again. Sailing Doodles does this well: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oUTzgNIMGdQ.html
