You don’t need to put electronic assistance on a motorcycle, all the ABS, quick shift and traction control systems you will ever need attached to the end of your limbs.
As a RELIGIOUS moto GP fan you really do take for granted how quickly these lads go... That bike is on a different level, gapping an 1100bhp huracan, comfortably too.... Unreal
especialy when you think about that the lambo is ahead for the first maybe 100-150 meters. and the the moto gp bike hookes up like an arrow with a ridiculous acceleration
Very consistent racer in his MotoGP period and one of the nicest pilots of the grid at that time. Matt is often excited but his enthusiasm after that rolling race was really never seen before on Carwow, great video Matt, CarWow team and Dani of course, thanks a lot!
I ride bikes but I couldn’t even imagine the feeling of acceleration of the Moto GP bike! That Lambo was an absolute missile which just highlights the speed of the bike.
The pictures can’t do the performance justice. That Lambo would beat 99% of the worlds road cars. But the bikes performance is on another planet. Pedrosa is sheer class. Thanks for bringing us that Matt. 👍
@@Smzxe with drag tire, it could, remember this is the tire of a Motogp bike, the like that was used to do 90 degree corners at 200 mph, not in a straight line

Dani's a legend. It's nice to see someone who can ride a bike going up against these hypercars and beating them. The braking test was a lot closer than I would have thought it would be.
matt choosing to count the second race as a win is just hilarious 😂BTW the rimac vs the motorGP maybe throw in the F1 car would be a sight to see . Please make it happen

There is the Red Bull challenge, where they had a Kawasaki H2R (I think), a jet, F1 car, rally car and a couple others, I cannot remember if the bike or Jet won but it did beat the F1 car.
Some serious launching and stopping skills on the bike from Dani!!!! How fast were they going through the half mile in the rolling races 😳 lightning!!!!!!
Launching skills, not so much. TCS and Anti-wheelie as well as launch control (which lowers the front to reduce the chances of wheeling even more) all make modern GP bikes relatively easy to launch, quick shifter and seamless gearboxes make for lightening fast gear changes as well. Braking... That's definitely Dani. I suspect that he might have been able to brake a bit harder if the tyres were up to race heat, and most of that advantage would have been at high speed. In fact, the braking test would have been much more interesting if the speed had been 150mph.
@@davidcolin6519 tcs and anti-wheelie only help after the fact, ultimately, the rider is still funnelling that power through the clutch which he is directly controlling through his fingers, as evidenced by Dani spinning in the second drag race due to too much throttle and releasing the clutch too fast. They still have insane feel and dexterity.
@@01aabidabdullatheefkp5 I suspect it was something as simple as forgetting to turn on the launch control. The process tends to be quite involved because you really don't want to deliberately compress the front suspension unless you are launching the machine. There have been similar events at the start of actual GPs. Another possibility is that it simply didn't work. The electronics for GP bikes are not only incredibly complex, they are also not much more than one offs, so the possibility of something unexpected happening is potentially much higher than in a production machine. I know that KTM's street bikes have a reputation for electronic glitches, but I don't think that this is related, it's just GP bikes being right on the cutting edge.
Absolutely love these races! I'm a huge MotoGP fan and most people don't realise how fast these bikes are. There isn't much under the sun that will take a GP bike in a straight line. Doesn't matter what you put against it, I will be here to watch it! Love the channel man!
It's crazy when you realize that you can get seriously hurted on bicycle when you once put a leg to wrong place and these guys are going like 250 km/h on a bike. 😀

Lovely to see Dani still so appassionate about bikes and you can see how lovely he is doing this. Hope to see more drag races like this featuring Dani of course!
I've been a motogp fan for two years now, and its kind of hard to get a sense of the speeds they do on tv. But this "real world" scenario just shows how mental these things are!
Drag Race a bit underwhelming though, 9.4sec you can achieve in a Tesla... a Rimac would smash that, but yes in a roll race with use of full power it's like a catapult.
@@1010thechamp Underwhelming? The Plaid is literally the utmost fastest non-hyper on the planet to the 1/4 mile. Yet the Bike was gaining crazy speed near end of 1/4 mile. Tesla can win 1/4 mile, but 1/2 mile? Or roll? No chance. Tesla will be ahead until it hits speed limiter. Then bike flies away. To beat bike you need maybe UGR Lambo or something totally ridicilous.
Sorry they don't use VBOX or any measuring device in their drag races or rolling races 😹😹😹😹 Funny fact is this Lambo ran 1/4 mile in 9.4 seconds Moto GP 8.9

We need more awesome races with Dani Pedrosa the silent Samurai. I love watching the videoas from carwow but even more so when MotoGP bikes are involved 😃
Pedrosa! Ok, the emergency stop...WOW! I would have expected it to be way more bias to the Lambo. Those MOTO GP bikes are no joke, they are the highest engineered bikes in racing and it shows. Dani needs to come back for more, that guy is amazing. Thanks Matt for bringing this and Carwow as well, make this its own series.
That just put into perspective how fast those Moto GP bikes are. I've seen enough videos of those 1100hp Lambos to know they beat most litre road bikes
actually a properly setup stretched, lowered and tuned modded liter bike will need at least 1400-1500 whp by a lambo. But yeah my gsxr 750 will be beat lol by a 1100 hp lambo. Any car with over 750 whp is a good match for the gsxr 750.
Yeah the natural reaction there would be to put both legs out and lean over the tank and probably get buckarood. He stayed on the gas till the bike sorted its angle out before letting off plus his body didn't flinch. That's muscle memory that, you can't tell your body to do that it will refuse to do it

I haven't paid attention to motorcycle racing since the days of Kenny Roberts and Freddie Spencer with MotoGP a mystery to me. But just watching the humble demeanor, incredible talent, and smile on this MotoGP racer has made me an instant fan.
I'm the same but with Barry Sheene. It was back on here on the BBC for Rossi's peak years so delighted to see those. Lost interest again as it went behind pay wall. Freddie had so much talent but we saw so little of it. One of racings mysteries. And yes, Dani is a great guy.
I think they're playing down the horsepower... It's on par with a Ducati GP bike which is turning out close to 300bhp. That KTM held the top speed record in MotoGP at 225mph. Race it against an the fastest Ariel Atom!
@Laid Back Racing Why? Some people are not just arm chair enthusiasts. Some will spend their own money to get the experience so may need to see how much money they have/they are willing to spend for what performance/fulfillment they get. It is a type of decision people make in their every day lives all the time.
