What an impressive ride by both athletes here. This is an exciting to see that these coaches and teammates are well versed at this age. Seemed like red locked up a riding point (if NCAA rules) and both kids getting straight gritty wit it. Physical and tactical matches, like this, will boost confidence into both of these gentlemen, despite the score. So big ups & kudos 👏👏👏 for those wrestlers, teams; and camps. These kids are so good these days and when you pair that with THE BEST VIDEOGRAPHY IN ALL OF WRESTLING, it excites the hell out of me. I’m just an old wrestler from SC and I’m not affiliated with anyone but MIDWEST WRESTLING IS TECHING EVERYONE ELSE TRYING TO CREATE WRESTLING MATCH VIDEOS . I love Flo to death, and think the commentary is gold. I’ll be a lifetime subscriber but if we’re being honest, they ain’t doing this. This is a gorgeous package of creativity and passion wrapped up in our favorite sport, and we all appreciate the hard work you do so that we can watch and comment. Real recognizes real and this is top notch art. 🤜🏼🤛🏼🙏🏽 respect and love from us all. The live filming, from on the mat, the camera mastery, angles, movement, zoom, all with live coaches audio, the editing and everything is next level and completely unmatched. With all that said, the real magic is in the way this vid made me feel. I’m proud to say that WRESTLING, AS A SPORT AND WAY OF LIFE, IS IN AN INCEDIBLE PLACE AT AN EVEN BETTER TIME. The entire community should all be proud knowing wrestling is in good hands and the best is yet to come. Great match again! For those of that know good wrestling, its not surprising to see a vid trending to half a Milly real soon. Bravo and God Bless
David, I can't thank you enough for taking the time to share this feedback. Between officiating and videography, it is a passion, exactly as you said, and it means a lot to see that being recognized. I really appreciate your kind words, and I am happy to hear that you appreciate the content.
Great video, reminds me of my wrestling days back in high school. I’m 53 now, but watching this video makes me feel like an 100! Lol!, Seems like a lifetime ago that I was in the singlet, but I’m proud to say I was the regional champ for my high school in my area way back in the early to mid 80’s. people don’t realize how much work is involved to get to that point, it’s not as easy as it looks. I trained seven days a week, the only thing I’m happy about is that I still have the same body, took a lot of working out, but I’m telling everyone, if you take care of your body at that age, like the boys in this video, you can keep that body your entire life, and I still wrestle from time to time. Of course everyone jokes then I’m gonna break a hip at my age….. just had a physical, even my doctor was shocked to see how strong my body still is, and I owe it all to this sport starting when I was only 10 years old. So thanks again for the video, great training video to show young guys how to continue the sport. I don’t know about you but to me it was a lot of fun, i made a lot of life long friends, and even though over 30 years has passed, we still continue the sport… The only thing I’m jealous about is the hair… looking at these kids, I remember my blonde curly locks, now it’s more of flesh tone! LOL!
Great camera work. These 2 wrestlers have so much talent and skill. I hope they end up coaching the younger generation on wrestling techniques speed and much more
A great match with all of the grit and determination needed...a joy to watch for sure. Kudos to these two guys and the cameraperson...great angles and excellent quality..two thumbs up to all.

Poor red...spent most of the match with his face in the mat. This is a tough sport, truly - I wonder what the average bruise count is post-tournament? (not to mention black eyes, cuts, scratches, nut kicks, chipped teeth....). Excellent cam work as usual, front, centre, and up close with the action 👍👍🤩
The biggest miracle for me is that they can do this really tough fighting work-out for 7 minutes, and every second their hair looks perfect. This is unreal!
I know these two was in a competition. But there's nothing like a good wrestling match between two friends. Just my opinion. Have a blessed day everyone
The decision was wrong. Yes, red dominated the beginning of the match, but then green dominated the rest. The one in control at the end of the match should be given more credit. Also, red outweighed green considerably. Green showed greater sportsmanship as well. Maybe someone can explain to me why red was the winner.
@@miguelmolano6611 Each wrestler wears a colored band on the right ankle, where the green band isn't vibrant. Note that the referee has similarly colored bands one on each wrist, for signaling points and, at the end, who won. Note also that the main title erroneously lists each contestant as "green", {G}.

Although headgear is mandatory at school-organized events during the regular wrestling season, at privately run off-season events such as this, tournament management has discretion as to whether or not they will require headgear. At this tournament, management elected not to mandate headgear.

Luke Dux now wrestles at 125 lb for Augsburg University, and Caleb Scott just finished his high school career, placing 3rd at 126 lb in the Illinois State Final in class 2A. As of last week, Caleb was unsigned.
@@MidwestWrestle Caleb would be a great fit in the BIG Conference (Penn State or Iowa) or the Big XII Conference (Oklahoma State) where wrestling is historically a top sport with huge fan support. Augsburg wrestling is the 2023 NCAA Division III Champion, so he is a good fit there. Good luck to both.
Don’t know anything about wrestling, but this was so interesting to watch! In the first half it looked like Red was winning, but then they paused and White restarted on top and Red never got back put from under! Why did White get to do that???
Welcome to the channel, Frogchair. Folkstyle wrestling at the high school level involves six minutes of competition divided into three two-minute periods. In the first period, they start on their feet in the neutral position. At the start of the second period, one wrestler is given choice of position, and at the start of the third period, the other wrestler is given choice of position. That was the reason for the pause and restart with change of position. Can someone explained to me the scouring for these kind of sports? As i was watching it, from my understanding and views of perspective, they looks like they want to break each other's arms and legs and want to choke each of them.....🙁🙁🙁
i actually appreciate the commands a lot. he can see things that i miss when in the heat of the moment and at the end of the day i still make my own decisions.
So as someone coming from a BJJ and muay thai background I really don't quite understand the rules here because I thought Green dominated most of the match. Can someone explain exactly how the 2-1 score resulted, ie what did they do that got that score?
Welcome, Aramane! In the first period at 0:15 mark of the video, red takes green down and earns his 2 points. With audio on, you should be able to hear the official shout, "two red". From there on out, no one scored any points as a result of wrestling action. Green actually earned his point in the third period due to red's inaction. Listen at 6:17 as the official shouts "red stalling" and again at 6:57 as he shouts "red stalling, one green". Stalling is just a warning the first time it is called, but the second time it occurs it is a point to the opponent.

@@MidwestWrestle After a completely unproductive 2nd period on top, I was surprised green went back on top for the third. He really thought he was going to turn him?
I'm always confused when I see someone choose a position in the 3rd that didn't work well in the 2nd. I can only assume they make that call because they feel their chances in the other two positions are even worse, but that's just speculation.
@@MidwestWrestle I wondered the same thing. Was he thinking that if he is down he is going to get turned? Or if he escapes, red will (again) get the takedown? Seems very tentative. But apparently he wanted to wrap his legs around the guys hips and ride his power half.
@@flowingafterglow629 Actually, they wrestled each other at the qualifier just a couple of weeks prior, and even though green was on top, he got reversed and pinned.

Yes, this is greco-roman wrestling which is very much distinct & different from professional wrestling (don’t confuse them!). The rules evolve a little as you go from high school to college to competitive (adult/olympic-not positive the term used for it; college wrestling is what is most widely broadcast over cable). Weight classes are strictly defined and numerous; reffing is very formal and is overseen by officials-but to the casual eye it would look like this striking match. These wrestlers are about the size of welter weights at the college level. A bit more muscle and experience (stamina for the red singlet, moves for white) and these will be formidable wrestlers. Since their ages weren’t given one can’t even guess what weight class they might start in...

Well done to them both. I think the kid in white and blue could use a little more mass on him. His too light and gets lifted up in the air quite easily.

How come the new school wrestles can not shake someone riding way too high? They might watch some old school stuff cuz if white rode like that in the 90s, he would have found himself on his back alot... Just saying times have changed..
I was thinking the same thing. White was riding awfully high at some times in the match, and I thought he'd lose his balance and Red would tumble him. But he stayed in control.
If you really want to know look up Greco Roman style vs freestyle wrestling. WWF is freestyle though all of the moves were preplanned, this was proven long ago. College and high school wrestling is Greco Roman which means the participant with best technique and most strength accumulates the most most points within the time allowed and therefore wins the match.
Just to clarify for those in the United States, college and high school wrestling are actually Folkstyle, which is significantly different from both Greco-Roman and Freestyle.
All good! In fairness, I would say that the majority of elite Folkstyle wrestlers also wrestle Freestyle and Greco-Roman in the off season. Freestyle and Greco-Roman are the only Olympic wrestling styles, so an American Folkstyle wrestler needs to learn Freestyle and Greco-Roman if they want to compete on the international level.
