It’s amazing how many people overlook balancing their prop Great model, nice build

So very true! I learned that from rebuilding my planes, that heavy whirring sound on my planes would be screaming unbalanced props. I am glad to see this on the comments. Also a smaller props helped with my planes speeds but not lift. The video host knows this, great plane all around.

With a bit of aesthetic tidying up, that could be a clipped wing Mk 14. Might be a useful addition/modification/option for the basic kit. Put a contra rotating prop on it, paint it blue and call it a late model Seafire too....

Some insane flying for a maiden flight! Looks really well built. I think this can serve as a good trainer for a turbine fighter jet. See if you can add retractable landing gear for taking off and landing on a runway.

Another great vid and airplane- love the clipped wing spit. but a note- I have more than 10 diff ntm motors of various sizes and KV. They are great, real powerhouses! I have driven 3548 1800 kv up to 100 amps with 4 cell and 8x6 and it was less noisy than your Spit. Your prop or Spinner sound out of balance. After 20 years of electrics, balancing the prop can add RPMS- maybe 10%! thanks for your vids!

What a nice model! Just a note about your hand launch. Firstly if you were to have a lanyard around your neck that is clipped to the tx. Then hold the tx in your right hand with the model in your left hand. Let the tx hang from your neck via the lanyard and reach your right hand across and open the throttle. Predict a left yaw, roll and perhaps nose down attitude after immediate release and place the control stick in a relative position. Then launch! I only say, because I learned the hard way...

Planes built from balsa by your own hand are easy to repair by your own hand also. Balsa in many ways is a very forgiving material to work with - very strong for its weight, yet easy to cut and shape. The only real downside of balsa is that it does not take paint well without doing a great deal of annoying application of sanding sealer and sandpaper work.

Sheeting the LE in sections! Why? Just use one piece of balsa, pin or use pieces of masking tape to hold it in place while a suitable glued dries ( PVA or Superphatic).

If you state scale speed in mach, you need to cool down the air you fly in to the correct number too, about -200°C
@zhiqiandu3110
@zhiqiandu3110 4 года назад
Actually for subsonic aircraft, low drag wing design is always reducing the chord and maintain wing span. This is counterintuitive but solid proven truth. Low chord will reduce the induced drag and skin friction, plus easily keeping the air in laminar flow, which is a scheme changing improvement in aerodynamics.

Does this mean you didn't angle the motor down, or to one side depending on the rotation of the propeller and torque? I was surprised you didn't reduce the thickness of the wing to improve air speed. I checked out the site for kits and parts, but no music steel wire.

I do not know how you are measuring it, but clearly you are wrong. To fly at 100 MPH alone with a 9x7.5 APCe you take up at least 1780 input watts. with 6slipo you occupy a consumption of 85A and with 3slipo double. For this, your motor is not viable.

I do not want to sound pedantic but my brain hemispheres fight each-other when I see a Spitfire and listen to Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries". Next time, when you show a British WWII plane, make sure you do not use a piece of music that was extensively used by the nazi germans...
