We are over the longest day of the year, the summer solstice! In this vlog we head up to richmond hill to watch the sun set. How romantic! Hahaha. Can't believe we're heading into the shorter days already. Huge greenhouse kick out this week too. Planted out the Chard (4 varieties), Beetroot (two), Cavolo Nero, Zinnias, Pattypans and Beans. Both French and Borlotti! Going to have to resow some of the moonlight runner beans because of poor germination but every other variety came up dandy!
I also harvest Peans and Broadbeans. Mum and i process the beans - shelling, blanching and double podding them before freezing what we can't eat immediately. And then i cook a Broad bean Risotto for dinner. Busy week next week. I'm going to Cardiff and mum has her operation !
