With a little modification, you can activate the light and sounds of the 11th Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver toy in the extended position.

Note: This process is straightforward for those with experience and comfortability in mechanical modification. However, if you modify your toy incorrectly you may damage or disable the Sonic screwdrivers ability to activate in the extended position altogether. Since I cannot guarantee your modification skills, I cannot guarantee this modification will work when you implement it.

Fuckin' hell I miss the days when I could look at the SS without thinking about all those idiots with their vape enthusiasm. Anyways, love the mod! Always great to see someone as skilled as yourself create something that makes the existing product truer to the object they are a replica of.

You actually don't have to make a new button on some versions there is a second micro switch under for the extended position but it doesn't go up far enough to hit it its a design fault that can be corrected by filing out into inside up the gold tube it extends into towards the front above the green part with the two switches on them after removing the triangle screws

And with that thing done you can glue the bottom part so it won't open.Nice mod bro,will see doing it when my screwdriver arrives.

but... The red button is part of the sonic. In the show all screwdrivers have the red button. It was taken out in season 7 cuz it was never used.

i did something similar but on the actual head itself. it will be poseted by at least friday as i just shot the video today. Nice mod tho it looks like u actually bought it at a store. very professional. :-)

Hey! Great modification! Votesaxon07 made the sonic screen accurate though in his mod! Check it out! Anyways, great work still! I am looking forward to your next invention :D (By the way, I do hope they release an upgraded (And updated) version of the 11th sonic in the future!)

How can you avoid breaking the sonic with the spring loaded action that comes with it. I am getting one of these in a few days and i am scared to break it so how can you flick open your sonic?

Ok so I also mod my sonic but I took out the spring because that's how it is on the show. Ther is no spring can you I one without the spring? Been trying to do it but I don't wanna buy another one

Hello, I have a question for you, how did you do that those four claws in the upper section are fully closed? On my version, the claws are always lttle bit more opened.

Sorry I'm late to the party. Your question might be rhetorical and you know the reason. BUT, just in case: when you pop the the thing open, you can only push the very awkward and non-show-like button on the end cap. That little end cap door swings open annoyingly too. I went and glued mine shut and just went without that button.
