Big Waaaaagh Energy against the Sly Eldar in the form of Warhammer 40K apocalypse, the large scale battle system that lets you bring and battle with all the big toys! I grew up knowing absolutely nothing about Warhammer. I found these videos on a whim going down a youtube rabbit hole, and have since been obsessed with it. I bought the Indomitus set, and a start collecting Orks box. Been slowly assembling and painting them, and I'm hopeful that one day I'll find people to actually play with. But wanted to say that, without this channel, there's probably a lot of people like me who would never have learned about Warhammer. so thank you, it's a great universe and the lore is unmatched.

That was awesome, I always enjoy Play on Tabletop's batreps. Really top tier for a T-shirt company. This game was almost one army winning the game and the other winning the battle. With this set of rules, it seems you really have to focus on taking out whole detachments, even when other units may be bigger threats or easier to target.

Apocolypse is pretty cool! Visually impressive. You have acid rain and lava rocks raining down every turn, and orbital strikes going off! And then there are all those massive Titans in the field wrecking absolute havoc. Really really cool! Great game !!! Two thumbs up!!!!

Other (old ) apocalypse games I saw had a huge first turn advantage, removing or degrading so much it's hard to come back from. And half the damage seemed caused by exploding titans, sometimes leading to cascades. It seems these rules have fixed both problems very well! I did read about a mechanic of void shields absorbing any damage before being removed (after 3+ damage). Combined with hit locations this gave three types of weapons, shieldbreakers (just volume, no ap needed), nutcrackers (best damage overall but with blast spread over random locations) and finishers (low volume super high strength, ap, and damage and iirc two rolls to pick location from). I think on a 5+ any void shield would come back to 1 wound and any partially damaged would go back to full (3). So you'd need a mix to avoid shields stopping the good shots! This seems to add a lot of strategy and would work well with the damage resolution at the end of a turn. Apocalypse would need some tweaking to be able to work well with regular 40k, and this in turn might benefit from some tweaks at well. Daemons could have boosted profiles for partially and fully manifested forms. Also boosted psychic powers costing from 10, 20, 40 for normal psykers ("level" 1-3) to 80, 160 and 320 points for super ones. I imagine you can make rules on power having a minor or major effect number plus a benefit per x over this, and dividing dice over one or more powers or holding back for rerolls. A 6 dice psyker would be a force to recon with! tl;dr Not everyone needing to buy titans, but rules for boosting models like daemons and 'nids to apocalypse levels!
