12 1/2 Pound hardwood smoked ham from Smithfield... cooked to perfection (my special Christmas morning breakfast) recipe which is pretty much just an excellent ham cooked low and slow in the Ninja Foodi XL PRO large Oven... which handled it perfectly...I was impressed and I think you will be too... but either way I urge you to try this method on the next smoked ham you cook and you might like the Mason Dixon buttermilk biscuits we tried with them...I really think you and your family will love me for this method!!! and either way...I love yall... take a look see what you think and come back to see me... jelly
For the record...
I am not sponsored or affiliated with anyone or any company in any way shape form or fashion...I have not accepted free products for over 2 years now and the only compensation or money I receive comes from youtube... they pay me depending on how many times you wonderful viewers watch my video and for how long it is watched... and please believe me when i say that I truly appreciate that...I will say that several kitchen gadget companies have reached out to me to sponsor or showcase their products...(some were really big companies and I have second guessed my decision on more than one occasion) I just don't think it is what this is about... meaning youtube reviews in general... but please understand me... and take my word when I humbly say that i absolutely understand others that do... and I may even do it myself one day... youtube is a lot more work than most people think so I understand why anyone doing it would only try to make as much money as possible... and I'll also say that i don't think free items...or even being sponsored... or even affiliated links...influence most creators reviews or even what they suggest for you to purchase from their Amazon etc. links...(I have purchased many items from the links provided in the video description of the people I myself follow) I trust anyone I follow or I do not follow them... but... I just wanted everyone to know that i am free and clear... at this time... of any outside influence and I understand if that does not matter to you and I also understand why... it is just the path I feel I need to follow at this time...so... I guess I said all of that just to say.....The only way i receive money is when people watch my RU-vid videos... therefore I do not have any links for the items I use... you can mostly find any of them by googling the name of it and if it is something I don't mention then please feel free to ask about it and I will try to answer... thanks for your time and I hope you understand... One more thing...I really mean it when i say...I love y'all all...jelly

You nailed this one. The only ham on you-tube thats not 'over cooked' 'cooked'. Who cooks a ham! You heat a ham up! I don't have the NF air oven. But thank you for showing how to heat up a ham with times and temperatures. Loved it. No more dry, stringy, dry, dry ham. Thank for showing how to make a juicy, delicious ham!

John I have been cooking both my Hams and Turkeys in cooking bags for at least the last 12 years or so and always use a wireless remote thermometer to make sure the temp is right when i pull them out. I always pull my Ham at 140 degrees and let it rest and it usually carryovers another 6 to 8 degrees in around 30 to 40 minutes or so still in the bag left on top of my stove. What I do like about this lower heat cooking method is i can put my Ham in at night and have it done when I get up in the morning then start my Turkey cooking and that way I don't have to deal with keeping up with them both at the same time cooking. So yeah Thanks for this video because I will definitely try this method over the holiday season.

Holy Shimolie John, I’m drooling my friend 🙌🙌. WOW! Besides the very small issue with the cooking time this ham turned out fantastic. It’s all a learning curve with these new air fryer oven combos. However, she by passed the recommended water soaking. Don't know how important that is? Anyway, would love your take on doing one!! .........Keep up the great work! @@JohnSanders I had to chuckle a little that you were forced to use the cycle called Dehydrate when drying out the ham was the last thing on your mind. Whatever works. But it’s a little disappointing that the oven controls don’t let you override the temperature to whatever you need. I have a different appliance with a yogurt function that takes the temperature all the way down to 110 degrees, which you cannot get by any other means. So I know exactly what you’re going through. 110 is an extreme. But I have wanted 130 - 150 before, and it’s a challenge. Sometimes you just have to pull out the induction cooktop and throw a pot on it. Those have no function but a temperature control that you can set to whatever.

Update I used my ninja Foodi deluxe and scored the top of the ham with a knife and poured a half a can of sprite over the top while in the ninja pot. Covered the top of the ham with foil. Put the pressure top on and used a time of 3.5 min per pound on high pressure ..slow released it for 15 min. Empty out the juice from the pot carefully and made a maple syrup cinnamon and brown sugar glaze and glazed it on broil for 7 min! TURNED OUT AMAZING

John, I wanted to do a bone-in turkey breast the other day. It says to cook from frozen and is already in the bag. But someone on the facebook page showed a picture of the cautions for the XL Pro and it said to NOT use cooking bags. I ended up doing the thing in my regular oven and it was fine. But now seeing this video using a bag for the ham, I'm wondering about my decision. The recommended temperature was 325 and it even browned the skin without ever opening the bag. Do you think I could do this in the XL Pro using the bag? I thought the concern about the bag was maybe because of the fan blowing and possibly getting the bag against the heating elements, but obviously using dehydrate the fan is definitely blowing. Not using that low a temperature to air roast the turkey gives me some concern about maybe melting the bag against the elements. What say you??
