Its people like you who , together with youtube, make it exciting to be alive. Thanks. As a layman (in my 60s) I want to tackle such a project.Are there preferred models for such a task? Im a big guy 6 5..and have always preferred large bikes.

Generally, you want something large enough to hold all the batteries, but still being relatively light. Aluminum framed motorcycles are good for the weight savings. There have been all sorts of motorcycles converted - from mini-bikes up to Goldwings and trikes.

BenjaminNelson Thanks for your reply. Batteries being as heavy as they are, would the weight distribution be less disruptive to roadholding on heavier bikes or would you say it balances out taking into account the replaced engine. Any problems with insurance? My dream us to park it under a solar panel car port..being in sunny Australia he he he..Thank a bundle.

I didn't have any trouble at all with insurance, but speak with your insurance professional BEFORE starting a conversion project. As for batteries, the main thing is to mount them low instead of high for best center of gravity. They more or less take up the place and weight of the engine and transmission. Solar is a great way to power a vehicle! Installing solar panels on my garage is one of the best things I've ever done!

Hi, Thank you for the informative video. If you take out the battery cut off and then put it back in later on how long would you wait to ensure that the precharge resistor has trickled enough power to the controller to protect it from damage? Thanks again.

A pre-charge resistor simply "slows" the rush of current that the capacitors in the motor controller would otherwise want to draw in extremely quickly. The exact amount of time before the capacitors are completely filled and voltage is equalized depends on the system voltage and the resistance of rating of the resistor. Typically, it's anywhere from a few seconds to no more than 10. The important thing is to simply not let a spike of current be drawn into the motor controller, possibly damaging it. Is having a main contractor AND battery shut-off a redundant safety/security precaution, or are they both required for operation?

Never mind, I watched again and realized I forgot about the pre charge resistor. The shut-off is the way to kill power to it. Great explanation!

Sir I am thinking about to make an electronic bike and to sell it with my own logo So I there any problem if I place my logo on some other company bike?? And what is that diagram book

I've been planning an electric conversion for a trail 70 minibike, and i had a question. If my battery system is 24 volts, and the motor system is 48, is there a way that I could safely wire in a capacitor for a double-voltage "boost" period?

Typical capacitors simply don't have the capacity to be practical for an EV propulsion system. I have heard of some Super-Capacitor setups being used in combination with batteries, but that was typically for regenerative braking energy capture. There are mechanical ways of switching batteries to a motor, done with contactors, to vary the voltage. That was done on the old electric golf carts. The 1970's Sebring-Vanguard "Citicar" used this system too. It works, and it's simple, but much bette to go with a modern PWM electronic motor controller now.

About 1 Volt per MPH.. so about 60 volts just add more Batteries for range..

Sir I want to know one thing if we use bike body frames Will we face any copyright action for using that company bike body frame

Motorcycles have a long tradition of being modified. I've never heard of anyone having a copyright action for using a certain motorcycle frame for a project. Even if you manufacturing new motorcycles with a frame identical to some other manufacturer, I doubt such a thing would be done (unless actually using their name and colors, etc.)

If you always have power running threw the system then what is the point of having the main contractor?

Aleien Films Do you mean because of the pre-charge resistor? There’s also a battery disconnect. (The red key-looking device) Power is dead when that’s pulled. Among other things, that’s also important for safety when working on an electric motorcycle.

Ahhh I see. Oh okay. Also could you make a video of a complete wiring diagram of the whole electrical system layout on your electric motorcycle? Everything from main motorcycle wiring to lights just to get a clear ideas?

Only very little power goes through the resistor, only enough to keep the capacitors in the controller charged. The idea of the contactor is the controller can turn on the HIGH power to the motor when it deems necessary and can cut power if something goes wrong.

This is a manual from a DC Motor Controller. Every motor controller you buy will have a manual with it. The Alltrax brand name does a nice job of supplying manuals and other information by their web page.
