Welcome back to episode 12 of my POV project!
Oh hey! It's officially spring! Warmer times mean a new season for more explorations. Let's get out there (safely of course)!
Another big thanks to my friend Paul for letting me borrow his Canonet !
Be sure to check his wonderful photography out and send him some love.
He also shoots panoramic half frame film shots.

If you have any film cameras you'd like to see a POV on, lemme know in the comments section below and I'll make a video about it!
(As long as the camera value isn't too expensive like...not over $50).

Thanks for the video. For 35mm film cameras, I have tried 40, 45, 50, and 55mm normal focal lengths. The 40mm f/1.7 on the Canonet G-III QL17 is my personal favorite.

Thanks for watching! 1.7 creates such a nice bokeh. Fun lens to do street with, I can see how that would be your fav :)

It is! Very beautiful cam and the rangefinder square is pretty clear too. Thank you for appreciating :)

Are you using the in built light meter or just Sunny 16?
@MayShi
@MayShi 2 года назад
The Canonet has a built-in light meter but this particular one was broken so, I used an app called Light Meter.

Oh nice! I have the same, in black 🌝🌝 lovely camera. Focusing can be a bit slow
@MayShi

Nice! Black also looks pretty. I agree, a cam that's better for a slower pace type of shooting.

nice vid! what was that app you used 3:35?
@MayShi
@MayShi 3 года назад
Thank you Eric! The app is called Light Meter - Free. If you want a more accurate reading, get the full version cause you can adjust the exposure compensation. But..I find it works just fine with the free version. :)

The colours seem to make orange come out very red and give blues a green tint.

A little bit! It was an extra sunny day so, it kinda enhanced those tinges.

@@MayShi The photo at 2:37 looks amazing in black and white btw. I took a screenshot and converted it to monochrome to see how it would look in black and white and it looks fantastic! I didn’t mean what I said about your photos in a negative sense btw. If you haven’t put Black and white film into it yet, try it, you’ll get fantastic photos in sunshine like that. As soon as the spring season comes back, I’m going to do just that with my Canon QL17 GIII and my Zorki4K too!
@MayShi
@MayShi 2 года назад
Oh interesting! Thanks for the kind words. I think the shadows definitely would make the blacks pop out more on that shot. I'll eventually try it in black and white, the Canonet has some crisp captures. Ouu, how do you like Zorki 4k?
@jazzman1626
@jazzman1626 2 года назад
@@MayShi I haven’t tried my Zorki yet but I have tried the Canonet but was a bit disappointed with the shots because it was a dull, overcast day.
