I'm a cashier. I try to give truthful compliments to my customers every day. Not only does it make their day, but it leaves them with a good overall impression of their experience. Especially when the lines are long. It gives me pleasure to see theirs.

that's cool. one of my most favorite jobs ever was being a cashier. I met such nice and fun people. (probably didn't hurt I was one of the fastest lines there! lol)

Front line work is so hard, and I will never forget years ago a cashier during a really horrible to me time in my life took the time to smile and give me a compliment on my nails of all things but it took her out of doctors, pharmacist, bankers, school personnel to just take two seconds out of their respective job and say a kind word. She literally changed how I felt and looked at myself let's all play it forward!

Summary - 1) Getting ready everyday, change your clothes and wear a little makeup 2) Smile at yourself whenever you look at the mirror. 3) Take probiotics and multivitamins along with water 4) Make list for the next day, the night before 5) Be productive at a time whenever you are comfortable 6) Make the most of the most annoying task 7) Be early 8) Try to park as away as you can so that you can walk more 9) Compliment others at least once a day 10) Commit to getting rid of one thing from your house 11) 2 minute rule- do it as soon as you see something if can be done within 2 minutes. 12) Making your family your priorities.

Carlie I know the feel uh ng of no one finding a joy. I've felt that way before. Once I lost my joy. My husband passed away. I had no jobs to and two little li e kids. I wont bore you with the details. If it's ok. May I please suggest something to you. I was in a class and Someone once told me when looking for a job. 1. Have a professional resume. 2. Always add the title of the job, and a few of their contents there requesting. you're applying for in your resume. Eg. Let's say I'm paying f ou r a cashier position. There asking for cashier experience. Customer service. Add that to your resume. It's just a suggestion. You can use it or not. I mean no disrespect. Blessings to you in finding a job real soon. Congratulations on. Graduating. Blessings in continued success in your future endeavors.

Everytime I look in the mirror I find one thing I like about myself - everyone has something that is beautiful - it makes me smile automatically everytime I look in the mirror. I have crazy confidence even though I'm overweight and have hair loss due to medical issues. The smile in the mirror is the real deal, but never focus on what you don't like. Great tip Shea, it's a winner!

@@laurensaige516 I think it's a huge struggle for all of us, you are not alone. We are told from such an early age to look good and we learned looking good equaled approval. I don't think most of us ever had a parent that sat us in front of the mirror and pointed out what was beautiful - we were left to figure it out ourselves, so we question it. Ask a friend or partner what is your best feature, and then focus on that until you see it too. The funny thing about seeing your own beauty is that you start seeing beauty in others, people that normally wouldn't stand out as beautiful.

I used to go down the RU-vid rabbit hole on my days off - hours wasted watching all my subscriptions etc - now I only watch them while doing chores, makeup, showering....like you said... and yes, it makes those things more enjoyable and I'm not wasting time!

OMG. I can’t believe what you said about showers. I thought I was the only one who felt that way. I hate having to take a shower in my daily schedule. Thanks for the tips i am going to try a couple of them

I think why a shower is annoying especially for women is the time....conditioning the hair,sometimes purple shampoo, shaving, exfoliating ect ect you ladies know what I mean. Being clean has nothing to do with it. Its like a workout in the shower 🤷‍♀️😜

With my depression, getting up, out of bed when I don't have to can be hard, so I try to get up and get ready every day. I have even bought myself cute sweats and "bummy" clothes for those lazy days, so it doesn't take that much effort to feel good about myself. I also really like writing things down. I keep an agenda. I also try to write down something I am thankful for, especially on bad days. Thanks for the tips!

Hope this helps, I suffer from depression and I didn't get out of my pj's for weeks, it makes a great difference to even do a quick hair style (a pony, bun short hair style... a hair band or twists) and some face cream and kudos to you for your new purchases

Yes, I agree. When I was going through my depression 4 years ago I pushed myself to get dressed and put some makeup on. It wasn’t easy at all, but it did made me feel better. Hang in there and believe that you will get better because you deserve to feel well and flourish

I feel the exact same way as you. I've picked up a lot of weight over the course of a year. And it seemed to creep up so slowly that I didn't notice till people started commenting on it. Now I don't even like looking at my body in the mirror or taking pictures. I really need to take control of my mindset and start caring for myself again.

@@skycheyx8661 I have the opposite problem. I lost weight after heart surgery and have never gained it back. Nutritionist and every protein weight gaining product I can find and nothing helps. I went in after a car accident and they assumed I was anorexic. Not cool.

I also hate taking showers!! I love feeling clean but I also feel like it’s such a huge waste of time, especially because I am irritated that I have to dry and curl my hair right afterwards! I love how it feels when I’m in the shower but getting myself to make time for it is the hard part. I usually listen to audiobooks while I shower. It used to be music but lately it’s audiobooks! I also prop up my iPad and watch RU-vid or catch up on my shows while I do hair and makeup!!

I cannot begin to tell you how inspirational this video was for me. I overcame a state of depression due to a tragic illness my mom suffered. It literally helped me get out of bed. That was the first step. Today I did the "list method". OMGoodness, I accomplished SO MUCH! I got the most annoying stuff first. I cannot thank you enough. It keeps me busy and my mom is slowly getting better. Thank you so much Shea. Watched this more than once because it is so helpful.

Love the two minute rule ! I always compliment others . Especially if I see people whom I think they may feel bad about their appearance , always try to find something nice to say about their scarf , or their glasses or handbags . Not because it makes me feel better , but because giving love makes my existence meaningful .

I still hear motivational speakers saying that, yet there have been studies showing some people (me!) are just wired to operate better at night and actually get more done! I agree with you, but unfortunately the world doesn't accomodate us. With working hours that start as early as 7 or 8 am, we are expected to be up and running in the early morning, which is very difficult for people like us 💔

I HATE laundry. In the last year I have found what works for me. I put the laundry in the washer at night before bed and set the timer. I time it to wash my clothes an hour before I get up. Then before I start getting ready for work I switch them over to the dryer. By the time I'm ready to leave the house the dryer is done! (I do this for clothes that can sit in the dryer and do a fresh cycle - not for anything that needs hung up right away). THEN that evening after dinner and family time, I take my iPad and headphones, do another load and start folding what was waiting in the dryer! Laundry is now like "me time" to watch/binge the shows I want to watch. No one bugs me because I'm in the laundry room folding. When they do - I hand them their folded clothes to put away :)

I hate to think what I have spent on supplements in my lifetime. I am 58. I started following the McDougall Program and actually went to Santa Rosa California for their 10 day immersion program. I have lost 25 pounds. I am back to my high school weight and I will never take a random supplement again. I feel better than ever and all I take is a B12 spray once a week. Dr. McDougall and staff convinced me thoroughly of the dangers of multivitamins and supplements. You are young. You could save yourself lots of money and problems by learning this now. I love watching your channel and I love your energy. I hate giving unsolicited advice but I just had to share this with you. Love your other tips:)

Minimizing wear and tear; how to wear closed-toe pumps without sweating; treating/preventing odors; no-show socks that actually do not show, etc… how do you take care of your footwear?? Nihilism Is the Only Way I was getting acne on the body and that went away and whenever I get a little tummy ache my probiotic clears it up always within 15 mins. My stomach doesn’t feel, well for a better of lack of words, “heavy or constantly bloated”. Should always be kept cold even from purchasing from Whole Foods, be sure they pack a small bag of ice with it. They usually do without me mentioning it but just Incase.

Great tips. I take a probiotic every am and once I found the right one it REALLY helps me feel better all day long. I am also a night person. People tend to think if you aren't a morning person you are lazy but if I need get something done I am much better to stay up until 5am then get UP at 5am. My brain just works better. Last, I ALWAYS park far away. The walking is great but is so much less stressful. While everyone is all circling around and holding up traffic waiting that front row car to pull out, I have already parked effortlessly and walk pass the mess to my destination. xoxo

No, I put my phone in high place so the water it doesn't get to it, and I don't mean that I'm 100% concentrated on my phone but it's I love to have something in can listen to it and watch it when I want, and the videos that I love to watch is the night routine, pamper routine or anything motivating. Believe me I feel so productive when I'm doing that

Omg! Shea- seriously I think I do most of what you said. The ones I resonate with the most-- 2 min rule seriously- I tell my family no time like the present it will take moments to accomplish- and we get stuff done!! I do smile at myself- it make me feel good. We all have pretty smiles and we need to see them coming back at us- it’s a way to show compassion to yourself. Also I think its important to find ways to complement someone everyday- never hide the kind and generous moments you find yourself prompted to act in. Take advantage of those moments. Shea, I hope you have read all the comments below.... See what you started? What a blessing you are, not only for style and beauty tips, but lifestyle positivity. I find that I had stopped doing makeup if I just am staying home, and sometimes in my jammies all day. I am the caregiver for my quadriplegic husband, and even he has said he likes it when I dress and do my hair and makeup, even if he is the only one to see me all day, and he loves me even when I am looking my worst. But I have realized that all that time at the mirror is not just vanity; it is almost like meditating on my self-improvement. You are so right -- even if I am doing my skin care regimen daily, the addition of even minimal makeup, smiling at myself and dressing as though someone might come over at any moment helps keep me, my home, and my life happier, healthier, and more organized. Even my cats appreciate it!

Everyone makes fun of me because I like to park farther away from entrances. I hate to squeeze between cars and I don’t like to drive around in circles looking for the closest spot. Also, I feel like I am being suffocated if I am surrounded by too many vehicles/people. So, I always park as far away as reasonable lol. I enjoy the extra steps and it’s good to walk. Living in the suburbs and working a sedentary job means I am often in the car or seated. Love this tip and believe everyone should try it! :)

I agree with many if your suggestions. 1. You are absolutely right. Getting g dress makes you feel so much better. 2. Most days I'm very I'll with my Lupus and Fibromyalgia. I'm constantly in excruciating pain . I feel sad. Depressed. I find when I'm feeling so miserable and if I get dress I feel much better. 2. Every single day I compliment someone either verbally. Or send someone a txt or by email. 3. I'm never late. I cannot part the farthest away because I cant walk too much because of my health issues. Not everyone can do the same thing one can do. We are all different. We all have our own likes and dislikes.

As an adjunct to #1...put on inside running shoes when in the house. Do it. You will see how much is accomplished just because you have shoes on!!! Also #2. Totally agree. Do it everytime I look at myself in the mirror. Boosts my mood and puts me in a great frame of mind!

Finally someone mentioning that productivity is not only INSTANTLY WHEN YOU WAKE UP. I mean for me personally I am a morning person. I am most productive from 6am to 1pm. But my partner for instance is most productive from 4pm to 9pm which in the beginning of our relationship I didn’t understand.

Thank you for actually saying these suggestions out loud. I do many of them already - but now I have a few more to incorporate into my daily life! The two minute rule is so smart! Emptying the dishwasher, folding a load of towels etc! Do it and get it done!

Getting rid of one item every day really resonates with me. In order to remember I decided I will tackle a cupboard I have not touched in years. One item per day. I also put it on my weekly tracker to make it a habit. Thanks so much

Another person who hates the shower task! I’m not alone! I look around and see all the things that need to be done and really grudge the time I have to take to clean myself. I didn’t know anyone else felt the same way. I’m now validated. 😂

I smile at myself in the mirror because I'm over 40 *cough* and my resting face is, um, not my resting face when I was in my 20s and 30s. Thank goodness I always smile when I see people and chat. I feel great because I know I look so much better. Great tip!!!

Thanks for the video, your point of being on time is a biggie and a mentor of mine who was a ceo of a massive Canadian company taught me that you set your clock a whole half hour ahead and you will never be late, I just got a new job and a ton of the hiring process was screening me for being on time....now I set mine to 20 min ahead but u nailed it

I can argue against one thing here: parking far away. Ladies, don't do this at night when you are alone. Furthermore, always be aware of your surroundings!

I think something that everybody should know, is it is okay to REST!!! Not everyday has to be a productive day. I am trying to break the habit of basing my self-worth on "how much I can accomplish in a day." These are awesome tips though! I think I really want to try to do the "get ready right away in the morning" one. 😉

The compliment habit is a good one for sure. It boosts another person's confidence and makes them smile. They will end up complimenting someone, normally, too. Like a pay it forward. Just make sure the compliment isn't backhanded or about about their body shape.

1. Get dressed everyday/put a little effort in 2. Smile at yourself in the mirror 3. Drink water and take a multivitamin and probiotic 4. Write to do list at night before bed 5. Use annoying tasks time to listen to pod casts or videos or something you enjoy 6. Be early, use the time as bonus time 7. Park the farthest you can away 8. Compliment someone everyday 9. Throw away one thing per day 10. Two minute rule - immediately do any task that takes less than two minutes 11. Make your family a priority Ah I missed one...? Which one was it?

i just have to say i usually am not interested in watching videos like yours with like makeup and hair tips and all that. but i love your videos! and i love that all your points are things to help boost confidence and be a more loving and happy person! the world needs more of that! you're so sweet and caring and i love that a ton of the products that you use are cruelty free! you should totally do a video on veganism and how it makes you feel/look better, and is just kinder! you should also do a video on the negative effects from drinking alcohol. i really need to see a video like that lol

I AM ALWAYS A 1/2 HR EARLIER AT MY WORK TO FIRED UP MY PC AND THE PROGRAMS I USE DURING THE DAY, I THROW AWAY, RECYCLE AND DONATE, I PARK FAR AWAY BECAUSE YOU CAN SAVE YOUR CAR FROM DENTS AND SCRATCHES, SOMETIMES I MAKE A TO-DO LIST IF I HAVE A LOT ON MY PLATE. THIS HELPS TO GET ORGANIZED AND FIND THE PRIORITIES IN MY PLANS. I ALSO TAKE TIME FOR MYSELF TO WALK MY DOG, PLAY WITH MY CATS AND DO ARTWORK, KNITTING, AND CROCHET......BUT I AM A PROCRASTINATOR AND I HAVE TO WORK ON THIS....AND THIS IS HARD.....TFS YOUR VIDEO IT IS GREAT....:)

We are incredibly like-minded! Totally agree that people have to be productive at the right time for them and not force themselves to be a 5 AMer if it's not in alignment with their natural body rhythm. Podcasts and RU-vid videos absolutely make the mundane tasks more enjoyable! Great habit advice, I do nearly all these things, in fact, I've included many of them in the book I'm writing ;)
