This series is made keeping in mind all those who want to go on their first Thailand trip, just like we did.
To help you guys with all the possible information that you might need to plan your trip that too under a budget.
Thailand is a really beautiful place but when we started planning for it most of the people had this one particular image of Thailand, if you know what I mean.
To break that myth, we bring to you the beautifull land of smiles. This place stole our heart for all the reasons no one mentioned before: the culture, night life, adventures,
amazing natural beauty, blue waters and above all the beautiful & warm people of Thailand.
In Vlog 1 I have covered the important points that you need to know if you're planning a trip to Thailand and let me summarize that for you (adding some tips too):
1. Always look for flights from different cities from where you can travel and find the most suitable one for you.
2. You can try to book a no check-in lugguage flight atleast while going as shopping in Thailand is an experience in itself so you can probably fill your bags there and will need a return flight with checkin lugguage.
3. VISA on Arrival process is really easy with express Visa being the quicker option.
4. Documents needed for Visa on Arrival: Covid Vaccination Certificate, Return tickets, stay bookings for all days, 2000-2200THB in cash, 2-3 Passport size photo (always white background photos).
5. Sim cards can be purchased from airport or 7*11 as per your choice- we got TRUEMOVE.
6. If you want to save a good chunk of money, you can use airport shuttle service to travel instead of airport cab service.
7. To travel locally always opt for Meter taxis, they are the cheapest.
8. You can get your money exchanged in Thailand (carry most of the money in US$ and atleast 3000THB from your country itself).
9. Diving is a must in Koh Tao, the whole island is full of diving schools so you have a lot of options to choose from.
10. Honestly, I always emphasize on staying in hostels and Thailand has some of the best ones. you can always mix hostels with some luxury stays to have the best experience and to save some bucks.
Now coming on to the price breakup:
I was able to do this trip in Rs.50,000 per person for 11 days and this is how I break it:
1. Kolkata to Bangkok return tickets: Rs.14000
(no checkin lugguage both sides)
2. Visa on Arrival (express Visa): Rs.4800
3. Sim card: Rs.650
4. Food (approx 400THB per day): Rs.9500
5. Stay for 11 days (total from 6 accomodations): Rs.4500
6. Diving (we did the training + shallow water dive + fun dive): Rs.6000
7. Domestic flights (Bangkok to SuratThani, both ways): Rs.4000
8. Domestic transfer Ferries (for island transfers): Rs.4700
9. Scooty Rental (per person): Rs.1500
Total expense for 11 days of trip (per person): Rs.49,650

You can always plan a trip under budget and still do all that you want to do, all it needs is a good planning and that is what we are here for.
