hannarye I in Catoosa county area there's so many different elevations and even mountains around hear that there's actually almost no telling how cold or hot it's going to be i think the coldest i seen it here is the single digits but mostly the teens and low 20's however if you go from one area to the next such as the Chattanooga city valley it might be a little more warmer

Jim this works needs a lot of patients that I see you have and I like the way you describe the tips you give out to avoid pitfalls. I had never brazed correctly in such low temp cause it becomes beast and I see you use the brazing flux every joint and clean it before, this has given me a more confidence now on how to join copper in cold. Another point I am waiting when and how you will release video on charging this unit in cold weather the the issues you get when charging in cold not necessarily with this unit but down here we have heat pumps and charging in cold weather is not that easy or its still a mystery procedure. I love to lean new things from you and Your videos are Awesome ! Thanks..

Your words about how the customer sees you are really true. Around here, I see a lot of younger techs who look like boys from the hood. The don't shave, or don't take care of their facial hair, and some of them don't cut their hair to keep a neat appearance, and their overall impression on the customer makes them nervous. They don't know if they have a tech or a burgler in their home or store. Sadly we live in an age where appearance and good work ethics doesn't seem to matter, but you know very well, as you stated, it does. I enjoy following your jobs and seeing your experience at work.

Hi Jim !! I’m looking your refrigeration videos and seems like you’re really like your job. I’m on resi heating and ac company but I’m thinking to take a job on refrigeration but I have concerns, I’m not sure if I’ll like it. LOL How do you like more heating and ac OR refrigeration? Are those long hrs same than ac or heating? Do you work for yourself or a company ?

Hello, I have the compressor COM08672. I think that's the same as there. Can you please tell me how much oil has to be in the compressor? During disassembly I spilled something. Where do you get the gaskets for the two connections? Many thanks!

i see your using flux ' are you using 15% silver what type of gas are you using, I'm amazed that you are working without gloves! I like the brush in the drill tip idea,my wrists are hurting lately.Keep up the good video's,Great Job!
@JamesPettinato
@JamesPettinato 9 лет назад
I use Stay Silv it's a low silver product, it's less expensive and works excellent, been using it since the 70's. You need high silver brazing when connecting copper to steel. I do use sil fos I think it's something like 55% only on special brazes.
@marriagepartnersministry5942
@marriagepartnersministry5942 3 года назад
I was always told you don't need flux when brazing copper and that Flux can get in the system and do bad stuff. Whats your though?
@rickl5938
@rickl5938 3 года назад
Jim - Are you using 15% Silfos? If you are, it is not necessary to use the Stay Silv flux on copper-to-copper connections since the phosphorous in the rod is the flux. In other words, the flux is built-in to the rod. Also, if those compressor connections are steel, you should be using 45% silver brazing rod along with the Stay Silv flux you are using. Also, you must be at least half Polar Bear!! Man, I don't know how you keep your hands from getting frost bitten. Better man than I am.
