I love Carolina Kitchen in the "DMV" (Washington DC Metropolitan area) Owned by Lance London I love his Corn Muffins , Potatoe Salad, Beef Ribs, Chicken, Fish & Shrimp, Banana Pudding, etc.
Thank you for this showcase!! I was happy and proud to see my hometown's Mama Dips on the list! Check out another great spot in Greensboro NC called Stephanie's!!! The best meatloaf around!!! Peace & Blessings
Vegan option in the DMV. Everlasting Life, Hampton Mall, Capitol Heights, MD. Great food, generous portions, prices reasonable. Raw food options as well.
Me too. You know what, Jessica? Mama Dip's blueberry pancakes look just as good as the famous Clinton Street Baking Co. pancakes in NY. But you will NEVER see her on the list of "top pancakes in America", because she's a sista'. That is why I ignore all those Eater.com or Thrillist.com. food lists. They're published by mostly white people promoting only other whites. We have to find and promote our own businesses.
The soul food Bistro in Jacksonville, Florida is like soul food your grandmother would make. I love this place. The deserts and food are made from scratch everyday in there kitchen. My favorite there is the peach cobbler and the hummingbird cake. Everything is outstanding. I'm a picky person when comes to food.
Sleepy 2 Brown we have voices to scream and yell if we are suffering i.wish all.African.Americans traveled to Europe to see how ur fellow blacks are treated and have no voice and truly suffer there black lives don't matter. If we traveled abroad to see what the true meaning of hopelessness we have a better appreciation for our lives
alona love we built America why would we travel somewhere we didn’t build nor have a sizable population? Of course Blacks in Europe have no power there
I appreciate watching this. Although I'm white, I'm a Carolina southern boy. I grew up around a lot of black people who were fantastic cooks. I have gravy flowing through my veins and my mouth waters at the thought of fried chicken and collards and top it off with some banana pudding. Yes Sir! Any day.
Thanks for the soul food restaurant info! I have been to 4 of the ones listed. There is this one soul food restaurant with awesome food right across from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL. The restaurant is called “Olean’s” the food there is beyond delicious!
I love the way all the food looks at these SOUL FOOD RESTAURANTS. The Black American chefs can really. That's why I frequent SOUL FOOD RESTAURANTS. THANKD
These are the best RU-vid videos ever created. Black Excellist is my first search every time I get online. Oh Jessica, Lord I love my black community too. Thank you Black Excellist. Your videos truly inspires me.
All are wonderful places!! But don’t forget about Texas!! Madea’s Down Home Cooking and Stormy Monday’s Soul Food Restaurant! And many others here all over Texas!
Thx👍. Would love to see a list of other black owned restaurants , for. more options. We do eat HEALTHIER NOW and BALANCE is the KEY. LOVE our beloved SF FOR LIFE💕.
This was wonderful. Perhaps there needs to be a part 2, 3, 4 etc. Would love to see restaurants in Buffalo, New York or Detroit, Michigan. Thank you for sharing.
I'm beyond excited with discovery your channel! With all that is going on in the world it's great to see black broke excelling and I plan on checking some of these spots
Black owned and operated with several locations in the Metro Atlanta area, This Is It Barbecue and Seafood Food, 3523 Camp Creek Parkway, Atlanta, Georgia!!
Don't forget Kelsey's soul food and Supper Club Atlantic City New Jersey and that's straight from the heart say's brother Rick and Poncho out of Philadelphia PA.
Brandy Spain Really? Okay, thanks I will check it out the next time I'm in that area, cause honestly many of my friends and co-workers, including myself, were extremely disappointed with the one I commented about.
Remember going to Bully’s weekly as a kid when I would stay with my farther during the summer. It was across the street from the “Black” golf course we played at all the time. The Beef tips over rice was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely, Houston is underrated and unappreciated. These skilled Culinary Chefs can rival the best in AMERIKKKA. I rate the eating establishments in AMERIKKKA Houston area in the top 5 for sure. This Is It Restaurant can take on everyone. You will not be disappointed or leave hungry. And you must be careful to protect yourself from this soulful addictive experience. I wish I had immediate access to this city.
I am a soul food lover and when you speak of Black Excellence one would have to say Ms.Tootsie's Soul Food Cafe Philadelphia, PA and also (TV popular now) Pink TEA CUP in Brooklyn NY....Carolina Kitchen in the MD/DC area is a good one as well. It was good to see Amy Ruths on this list though (well deserved).
I just came from my hometown St Louis man I had some great Soul Food from Moms Soul Food Kitchen 4909 Delmar rib tips, green, mac and cheese oh boy it was good.
I am originally from New York City and Amy Ruths is awesome. When i took my wife to NYC for the 1st time in 2013 we went to Amy Ruths for the 1st time and we were hooked the sweet tea was the nest tasting tea i have ever had. So waiting to go back to NYC next September for 3 days prior to our 7 day cruise to go back to Amy Ruths
Im from the town aka Oakland Ca and i love this channel and the list. I already been to 3-4 places on the list and will be going to more. Here's a few add -ons for the next list: Lena's in Oakland and Silvia's in Harlem.
+ 06.06.18- I’m just getting in the hang of this page, but I so wish y’all added Big Daddy’s which is also in Georgia too! And if Copeland’s (from NYC) was STILL ALIVE, it would have made it in the list!!! 💛
