I feel like a lot of Z owners could benefit from having a quick look through the owners manual. Almost every single one of these "hacks" is listed in the booklet. It even has a glossary so you don't have to aimlessly search through random pages. If any would like to know another "hack" your rear defroster shuts off automatically after 15 minutes.

Great tips! Some I was not aware of. I had my gas door latch keep loosening and I could not open the door. I fix it by adding locktite to the piece that locked it in place and attached a wire to the little manual pull switch that is now under my carpet. That way I do not have to rip the the trunk apart to get to it.
There's a 4th way to open the hatch for the 2004-2008. There's a small rubber flush mounted button the size of a penny on the backside of the left side of the steering wheel. I love it. Totally convenient.
The shift light is fun, I cant count how many times I’ve changed that since I got my Z prolly just cuz I know I can lol but if u been driving aggressively for a while and wanna chill it’s rly useful to slow u down, something about it just makes u obey lol
That issue with the trunk not opening properly is an easy fix -- On the interior side of the trunk hatch, close to where the trunk struts mount, there's a spring mechanism encased in a black rubber boot (Later models have one on each side). Remove the spring mechanism(s) by turning them gently by hand, then GENTLY (GENTLY!!) remove the black boot so the spring can come out, then drop two pennies (yes, the 1 cent coin) inside the boot and reassemble/reinstall. The two pennies raise the spring just enough so it makes proper contact with the release mechanism and opens the trunk like it's meant to. The guy in this video provides a visualization, albeit a poor demonstration since he doesn't seem to know what he's doing -- Get's the point across, nevertheless: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l1_K5oyhJTs.html Also, the trunk struts that are supposed to keep the trunk open are notorious for failing over time. Nissan charges $145 for the "OEM" replacements, you know, the same one's that failed in the first place -- Save yourself a lot of money and buy replacement struts on eBay for $11, free shipping. I was suspect on the quality at such a low price, but I was pleasantly surprised that they work very well, and continue to -- At $11 a pair, why the hell not? Cheers!
I hope so! It's always a great feeling finding a solution to a problem from somebody else who had the same issue and took the time to share what they did. Likewise on learning new things about your car -- It's HOT here in SoCal today and I rolled the windows down before I got in a couple times! Really stoked about that! The silent lock trick is dope. Never knew that. I park my car in my neighbors driveway and feel bad when I lock it at night bc it gets her dog barking. 🙌🏽

Yo man. How do you get your Z to open the windows with the remote or key in door? I have an 06 350z and it doesn't do that. In fact, none of the guys here in SA are able to open windows using the unlock button on the key. Any advise?

I have a 04 350z...and I have a lot of chatter in transmission...I replaced stock clutch with after market stage two..and changed flywheel but still have the chatter noise in trans...but when I engage clutch it goes away...but disengage clutch you can hear it again...any ideas what it could be and what to do...thanks
Yes sir any aftermarket flywheel that isnt a duel mass will amplify the chatter it cant soak up the vibrations and sound enough you should hear my jim wolf you would think my trans is going out lol but its completely normal 👍
The only one of these that is even remotely a hack, is opening the gas door using the tab inside the hatch. The rest are all features that are spelled out in the owners manual.
Absolutely just don't go over a half inch in the front and don't go over an inch in the rear if you do you'll run into issues and need aftermarket control arms 👍

I have a automatic 350z 2006 it had a starter problem and I just bought a new one and send it to the shop so they can set up the new one and fixed the muffler but every time I don’t use it for a while and im about to start it it does the same noise the starter would do then I move the key back and try to turn it on again on the second time it turns on but why? If I just got the starter fixed I need help ASAP

That's way too subjective bro it depends on what state you live in how many miles the car has on it which model you choose there's just way too many variables 👍
I know this is super old. But. I weighted mine and it weighed in with glass around 80 pounds ish. I then got a dry carbon hatch with lexan rear window. And that weighed in around 25 pounds. So wet carbon might be somewhere near 60 with glass. 50 with lexan. The glass itself is about 10-15 pounds depending on who made it.
Quick logic for you guys: aluminum crash bars = can't withstand impacts and are there for rather decorative reasons than anything, however zip ties and bondo are capable of holding the whole damn car together? Please test out the usage of these crash bars with the brute force of 12 bald eagles on your forehead🤣
that's probably one of the most ridiculous things I've heard why would they put a crash bar underneath a bumper for cosmetic reasons smh if you are in a serious head-on collision or hit from behind the crash bars effect would be minimal but if you're just in a fender bender accident the crash bar will save your tail lights hatch front headlights and most importantly engine and radiator from being destroyed no it's not a worthless piece of aluminum I'm sure car manufacturers are shaking their heads as well at this type of comment after a hundred years of research and development 🤦🏻♂️
@@TALONATER okay so to make it clear: i was not trying to offend you... however after rereading i can understand why you would be, so: sorry first of all😅 Of corse the crash bars don't have a cosmetic reason (they had way back in the day, as the crash bars were the bumpers, and plastic covers over them weren't a thing). That's why I'm saying that removing them in order to lose some weight, isn't sth i would recomend. Yes manifacturers do a lot of testing and developing and that's why it makes no sense to remove this well worth safety feature. I work with and repair crashed cars and i know for a fact what these crash bars do. It is well worth for more then just minor bumps on a parking lot e.g. They will sure bend like crazy. That's good. It absorbs the energy from the impact. If there is no crash bar... well who knows what will absorb a mild crash🤷♂️ maybe the frame is getting bend and the car is totalled, maybe the engine is getting pushed back into passenger cabinet, etc. believe me, when i tell you, these things absorb more than the look like Not trying to convince anybody. It's just something i wouldn't do.

hey one more thing that may help out underneath the plastic on the hatch there is a hidden weight it weighs about 5 lb if you remove that it helps even more 👍
Surprisingly the struts r like new, it’s bizzare it opens almost an inch just enough for your fingers to wrap around it but it feels like a locked door, then has to be pulled on as I hit the button again.
