It's actually quite nice to see someone with well trained muscles fail at some exercises. Instead of always seeing people kind of flex their skills and progression level. It reminds me of how everyone started at zero and needs to put effort into stuff to progress.

9 times out of 10 the smaller RU-vid channels are more informative & better at breaking things down. Than the bigger channels with millions of subscribers. Your channel is one of those channels. Good video as usual. I find that hanging on the bar till complete failure at the end of a pull-up set (especially weighted) to be one of the most effective grip exercises. And all it takes is adding a few extra seconds to your standard routine. You can do pull-ups on a thick or spinning bar if you want to go extreme.
@MinusTheGym
@MinusTheGym 4 года назад
BioHack yeah, thicker bars are great too. But I never tried a spinning bar... thanks for sharing that
@biohack6800
@biohack6800 4 года назад
@@MinusTheGym spinning bar is the worst. It's a very humiliating experience, haha. I don't usually look for those on purpose. It just so happens that the only bar near my house is broken, or spinning. I absolutely hate it lol. But it does wonders to your grip strength.
@zeebest1004

Fingertip pushups: Even more challenging is using curved fingers on the very tips of the fingers - piano playing style! This strengthens the very fingers as well as the hands and forearms. Fist push-ups: Don’t forget the two placements - first two knuckles karate style. But support on the last 3 knuckles is good - as is rolling between the two placements!

I’m digging the background music. If I might add, my front delts tend to give out before my forearms when performing the wrist roller with my arms outstretched like that. I find that for me personally, keeping my arms closer to my body helps alleviate that. I also do it while standing on a raised platform cause I’m not the tallest dude. Not sure if that will help anyone out or not. Great content keep it up!!

4:45 - For those who are struggling to do these: If you are able to do one/two-handed flat hand push-up but unable to do the same at the fingertips, then you need to strengthen your fingers. To do this, get them accustomed to handling your weight in that position first, and you do this by standing on your fingertips without actually doing the push-up which would require more strength due additional strain created by the movement. When you are able to stand on your fingertips for at least 10 seconds, you should be able to do a few push-ups as well.

4:42 - imo, rather than jump straight to the one arm fingertip pushup (from using two arms). First, gradually incline the feet while still doing the two arm fingertip pushups. This helps you prep for the one arm version. Peace

Hey Ryan! I love the aesthetics of a well built and defined forearm,so i definitely want to get there. Currently doing some of them (in some variations) for my tennis elbow rehab,but since i got used to doing them almost daily, it will be easier for me to maintain this routine throughout my weekly program. The thing i heard is that,since forearms aren't used to this type of stress (because we don't isolate them as much as biceps,triceps etc) they tend to adapt faster to the new stimulus,so the results can be faster and more significant. You also gave me the idea to make my own wrist roller! Thank you for the video and your advice,because it's the first time i heard that we should keep our scapulas depressed when doing one arm hangs. I always try them dead hanging and cannot get a lot of training volume that way. I will use the tip ypu mentioned and see how it goes. Thanks again!👍

My wrist roller is a 4x4 wood block, which I rounded off. The thickness makes it harder work, and since it's only about 10" long I can also use it with my hands on the ends, in the thumb-up position.

Good video. The pvc wrist roller works better in my opinion when you hook it up to a low cable weight machine or pulley system. There are also competitions with weighted sleds. They use a big spool for the wind up going for distance with as much weight as you can drag by wrist rolling. The weighted hang is limited by how much your shoulders can hold.

Make a fist. Open an close your fingers. You have to work in the opposite direction, or as bodybuilding calls it the antagonistic motion, the opening fingers. I take a 2 lbs round plate from an old fashioned dumbbell and flip the plate in my hand, backwards and forwards to strengthen the fingers in motion.

If you hold a wrist roller straight out in front of you, your front delts may be the limiting factor and not your forearms. I slide my roller over a bar and put it at shoulder height in my power rack so I can make my forearms do all the work.
