I'm sure the girls were so relieved when they realized the boys weren't with them. I'm sure it was so stressful having the boys basically on top of them for who knows how long. I'm so happy you were able to save them, and honestly I think it's amazing you have a rescue to work with. People need to understand that while you are amazing with pigs and super knowledgeable, you're just one person. Rescues have multiple people with set resources and deal with adopting out all the time. They have what to do down pat! And as long as the piggies are saved, does it really matter who does it?!?

I don't understand that people actually complained at this, they are not his pigg and he's just one person rescue, great that he's actually helping with rescuing them and found a rescue to help him with this horrible situation.

I have to have respect for the guy who saw these guinea pigs in bad condition with a friend, recognized it, and took initiative to get them a better home. Any animal lover can see that they looked crowded, sick, and unwell, but a guinea pig novice would have no idea what they actually need, so it's just impressive that he took them away from the friend and found them a new home. And shoutout to you and your partner rescue for taking this on as well! It's a win win: the rescue gets promotion and you get to make awesome content!

Yes you are an inspiration. Myself and four other people recently rescued 30 abandoned, orphaned baby piggys dumped at a vacant block. All doing well now.

OMG I nearly cried when little Ariel started to walk & eat herself... Bless her little heart. She looked at death's door when she arrived, i think you rescued her just in time. She would have been dead by the morning if you hadn't taken such loving care of her. I'm so pleased you will be keeping Ariel & Fifi such cute names for such sweet girls 🙂👍

This story warms my heart. I feel bad for the owner that paid for each of them just to save them and try to find them a good home. They had an amazing heart to want to do that and they were so selfless to realize they didn't have the knowledge to take care of them properly. I'm so glad they got to your place and then the rescue after this to find wonderful homes. You did good here, the previous owner did good, and the rescue is a life saver!

When people talk about pet store cages to me, I always say take your breakfast, lock yourself in a half bathroom and live there for 24 hours, that's where you'll eat, sleep, wash, toilet, everything, now think about living there for many years, that's what a small animal in the wrong cage lives their whole life

I work at a petco with (thankfully) a very good team who are always on top of animal care. Before i took over the animal leader position, there was a woman who brought in a guinea pig who had a neurological issue from getting forced into a hamster ball.... His name was willy, and he reminds me so much of poor little Ariel. He was so bad, that when he was first brought in he couldn't stand At All. It took about 2 or 3 weeks, but we were able to get him back into a more alive state, though he was left with a permanent inability to walk in a straight line ... Anytime he wanted to get from A to B, he'd take loops because he veered so heavily to the left. He was such a sweetheart, and was always excited to see anyone! Always ravenous for his doses of critical care, and that syringe of delicious goop was his main encouragement to get up and walk again! I miss him a lot, but I'm glad we got him healthy and the journey of treating him was something really special to experience❤

As a young Guinea pig owner this pains my heart so much. When I saw their outgrown nails and hair loss especially on the frail one it really made me sad, they deserve all the healthy veggies and Timothy hay in the world

I don't know if people realize how much of a community resource that rescues are. Having animals in the rescue facility that their employees or volunteers care for is maybe only half of the work they do. TNR programs, financial aid for unexpected vet bills or spaying/neutering, foster programs, administrative assistance for adopting out animals, community outreach and education, partnerships with animal control and law enforcement for the seizure of animals from poor conditions, and so much more. Rescues are built and designed in such a way to provide for a community, and even if they're crowded, there's so much benefit to working with rescues. As someone who's done this for a while, I'm also going to add that within the first five minutes of this you checked every box I have for good, ethical rescue work (including not directly bashing the previous owners, while pointing out the problems relating to husbandry. In my experience that one seems to be the hardest for people to do because of all the emotions that come with seeing animals in poor shape). You're doing amazing and I'm so glad you've caught the bug for this difficult and rewarding line of work. I really hope to see more from you in the future!

I was so lucky to have one piggy for about a week. She was going to a very caring young girl for Christmas. This one piggy was hiding most of the time when I first got her. I found out she loves lettuce. She started getting use to me and would let me know when she wanted something we were having. I couldn't believe she could smell a banana from 6 feet away. I only gave her a small slice but I knew she wanted more. In the end I had a hard time letting her go to her new home. Maybe one day I can get 2 females to come live with us. Thanks for the video.

The wobbling could be from a bad ear infection. When dogs and cats are wobbling it's often from a severe ear infection (if it's not neurological or from an injury).

Aaww that last little girl breaks my heart! She's so adorable and small, but it's not for good reasons. I cried during this whole video, especially when you were feeding her the critical care. She melts my heart, and im praying she will be ok. Is it really that difficult to do a little research before bringing a living animal into your home? It's the same thing that happens with Beardies and MBD; there's no excuse anymore, the info is out there. Seeing innocent animals treated like that pisses me off, and crushes my heart! Ariel broke my heart. I know some people get these animals and don’t know how to care for them, but it’s not hard to learn. I was fortunate enough to get my first 3 from a friend who had raised them her entire life, so between her and my own research I’m pretty good 5 years into ownership. Having an exotics vet is so important. I spent so much time panicked calling trying to find one when we needed it. We were fortunate enough to find a fantastic one, although we lost that piggie. Now I have one basically on hospice with a bladder tumor and meds twice a day and I’ll do it until she’s not with us anymore. We found a pet store while on vacation with this tiny baby piggie in with adults. Baby was being stomped on, no hay and they all were sneezing. I felt terrible but I paid for that baby, brought him home and took him to the vet for meds for his upper respiratory infection. He was so small it broke my heart. You do a good thing! I don’t know if I could. I’d want to keep them all.

On the topic of many cavies crammed in neglectful small cages, there's a bad hoarding case an hour from me (probably 2 ish from you) According to the listing, it was 10 pigs last summer, who knows how many now... I had piggies in a 8 foot long fish tank I made for piggies I had wire doors made as they got more air through the cage and water bottles can hang easily and had hay racks made for them as it is not good for piggies chew on wires as it will hurt their teeth and gums

I think it would be interesting to hear what kind of families abd people these rescues come from. Not like these specifically but generally. And no personal information. Just in general what it's usually like, if you know. In these kind of situations I would love to understand animals speaking ❤ I'm sure they'd have lots of thanks to give! ❤ I think it's still better that you gave them to a rescue, rather than taking care of them yourself. Though I understand, that the rescues are mostly packed full too, but they still have the equipment and room for them. Or if they didn't, they surely know other rescues or people who can foster them. Or they would've asked you, if you can take care of half of them or something. I hope more people would see or hear of these and know to be responsible when taking any pets. ❤❤ lots of love

What’s the measurements of your cages? I’ve been looking at upgrading my cage and idk how big to do it. I have a 2X5 for one male/ and my other male on the bottom with the same size cage. I’m getting a friend for my friendly male but my old man likes being alone idk why lmao

I have a few questions Do u give your Piggies fresh veggies and occasionally fresh fruit I guarantee you those Piggies are hungry and especially that one that is not doing well is probably really thirsty and could use an IV bolus you should learn how to do that and have the materials on hand just a suggestion. In addition you can use many different types of oils to clean out the skin basically that falls out of our ears same thing with pigs and dust one really good thing is like olive oil you use a dropper and just drop a little tiny bit in each ear and then use a Q-tip and you'd be amazed at how dirty their ears are but don't stick it down in their eardrum just on the outside. Also do you give your pigs a bath once they settle you should give them a bath Davis Miconazole Shampoo I would be willing to bet that the little sickly looking one has ringworm maybe wrong just a guess but any of those parasites if one has it you have to treat them all including the boys. And in addition to all this are all of these girls going to be on pregnancy watch? Just curious as to your policies on intake of new Piggies you will eventually I assumed adopt out? Best of luck!🐽🐽🐽
