Looking for EASY work-at-home jobs? Check out my recent video, "7 Easy Ways to Make Money from Home." In it, I share a bunch of ideas for making money that *anyone* can do. Here's the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xQtERwBUQUc.html
Not actually :) That's just the most obvious way + people who study it professionally learn all the strategies. You can make plenty of money online many other ways!
This is the best work from home video ever.. very detailed. I'm recently disabled physically and lost a high paying job of 18yrs.. So, freelancing, editor, social medial manager and a few others stood out for me. Thx. This video made me a subbie.
my son is a very experienced Graphic Designer working from home so he can take care of his disabled son who by watching daddy is becoming an artist too.
No Mandi you are an indie publisher and author. An artist with a day job, can self finance (easier) and write off business expenses for equipment, supplies and publishing related services. It can be a great way to test the waters and still receive a paycheck from your non-direct patron. A good CPA can help.
grphik dsnr/ video editor / sales copywriter/ writer / web designer / social media manager / online business manager / course creator / ad manager /editor/membership site creator / amazon seller
I am a disabled engineer, and I found the video helpful from the standpoint of exposure to types of jobs I'd never heard of. I'm sure she could (and maybe already has) make multiple videos explaining each of the 12 in more detail. Gillian, my only suggestion would be to try for fewer edits (I found it distracting to see an edit mid-sentence in some cases). Of course that would mean practicing more and having the creation of the video take 2 or 3 times longer, and obviously you're a busy person. Hope your travel went well.
Im a graphic designer but it is not that easy to become a good graphic designer. Its actually a little bit tricky. Also video editing can be more complicated
Yes so true. I’m a filmmaker and video/film editing is not easy to learn and with technology forever changing you have to stay up to date. I learn something new all the time even though I’m seasoned
Really wow, I've worked as a freelancer for Graphic/ Web Designing I used to earn 5k $ to 7k$ per month so easily by just dedicating my self to work. Though I stopped doing freelancing b/c my eyesight were effecting I was too much in it😄 then I switched my passion to Painting & those designing skills really helped me to visualize , selling Painting online & on local venders also made a good turn, though it's difficult to make market but nothing is impossible 😉 Very good content, highly appreciated, remind me some good memories too. ☺️
Gillian, I have not worked outside the house since Feb 2009. That was right after I had my last baby. Now, I am a stay at home mom to my 3 kids and I homeschool them all. My husband is now disabled and I am truly desperate to make money while at home.
Can't agree with their hair. Very intelligent woman, nothing interesting about the hair. If she can make it into a curly Afro, that may be interesting. She's not an unattractive woman for people that like European features.
Thank you so much Gillian for the information, it was very helpful! I work M-F 7-6 in physical labor & want to transition out of my career into something more flexible so I can enjoy the quality of life better. I'm working on some EBooks right now but I'm also going to try to sell items on Amazon to get the ball rolling quicker for passive income. Your videos are very inspiring & informative. Keep up the great work!
I was doing graphic designs, and coding at the age of 8. I do not have above average intelligence, and in fact, I'm not very focused either. It's all down to a will to learn, and being open to growth and technology. Also, the title of the video also didn't imply "easy to start jobs", just highest paid at home jobs, that's not synonymous. Best of luck!
Great video, Gillian! I felt the most affinity with web designer but I appreciate all of your content. Oh, and I like the blush pink top you are wearing in the video too.
Thanks for this video. I have worked from home as video editor and customer service pro apps specialist but due to recent health issues, I lost my job of 23 years to a younger, cheaper person. I need to reinvent myself and you have given me great ideas. Thanks.
Hello Gillian you are so helpful! I was browsing u-tube and doing many searches on writing a book and your channel came up. I was so glad that I for your channel because you are so straight forward and most of all YOU TELL THE TRUTH!!!!😃😃 You really explain everything in great details! I was impress on you self publishing your own book! You are a inspiration. I've always did small side gigs on the side, but I never do anything for long term. I know for sure that I need to start my own business, sister I commend you for taking the leap of faith in starting your own business! My promblem is that I procrastinated to much. This year I told myself No more PROCRASTINATING!!!! I recently got laid off last week and I was devastated, I told myself that never again will I ever work for anyone again. So I'm seriously looking for ways I can work at home. I'm interested in self publishing, selling printables, creating on line courses. I need to totally work for myself so Thank You for your Wisdom! Please continue sharing your knowledge. I will always be watching your channel you are amazing!!!!
ive seen a lot of videos like this, and this is by far the most realistic and comprehensive video in my opinion. Thanks for going through each one and letting people know how to start if we dont have any background in the job you described. Gives us some direction on where to start looking for courses etc...
Hi Gillian! I love your informative videos. You make such useful content. You should vlog! So many moms would love to watch your daily family life. You are an inspiration! Cheers!
Omg, she is Fantastic!! No more giberish actual information that can actually increase your income. Thank you so much for this blog, And God bless you.
Gillian I REALLY appreciated this video and EVERYTHING you mentioned here. Nice work! I"m just beginning to research on line creative businesses that I can take into retirement working from the beach, and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to you. Many thanks girl!
These 12 jobs are great! There are also a bunch of untraditional jobs that we see that are flipping to be remote-friendly these days. I travel with Hacker Paradise, a community of remote workers, and we have seen people who work-from-home or work remotely even in fields like real estate and medicine that you would traditionally have thought you have to be present for. So cool to see the world moving to be more remote-friendly!
I work from home (for 2 different companies) teaching english to children in China! You need to be enrolled to get a bachelors or have a bachelors. I love it!
Super helpful video you’ve made there! I’m currently working as a graphic designer for a local business but I find it very unsatisfactory and at the same time I do not want to move to a bigger city so I’m thinking of starting something online. Your video was very detailed, I’m going to download the e-book now. Thank you so much!
Thanks for this! I was highly trained as a writer and editor back in the days when everyone expected you to go to an office. I’m ready to do this work from home since I live in a smaller community where these jobs are scarce. You just gave me the launch pad!
Two words to describe you: amazingly inspirational and indisputably helpful. I am gonna take graphic and web designer options and see what will come out of it. Thanks and Be blessed!!
@@gillianzperkins I think how much you put in. Is what you will get out of it just like haveing a baby if you eat good food do all your doctor visits take your vitamins take care of your sel then you should have a successful beautiful baby witch this is life in the same Manor if you can understand what I'm saying as for the men good practice makes good perfection
I have a BA in graphic design and jobs don't all pay as much as posted. And you do need a visual portfolio, references etc. You can't be a graphic designer online unless you know web design as well.
There's actually a career path for that! It goes sugar baby (entry level) --> rich guy's gf ---> rich guy's wife. But be warned--you'll be working every day of your life!
1) Re graphic Designer: I do rthis but on a non-commercial basis. Granted, I have 50 years of technology exposure and 955 of what I know in 3 languages is self-gained. I originally learned technical drawing on a drafting board before CAD or computers were really in the business scene. When I started with computers, I used then Ashton-Tate's Framework 4, more or less like a wndows before windows existed. Since then I have built/modified many computers, and used Various versions of Windows as well as OS/2-Warp. So all in all I know there are alternatives. One of these is open source, but you will need to do some learning and that ongoing! Instead of Photoshop, which costs money, learn to use Gimp. It's open source, cross platform (so you can have it in Windows if you like, but personally I am a Linux user.) that will deal with the raster graphics, but you will need to spend significant time to become adequately proficient. Gimp also can do some degree of vectorization, but to then use that in a vectorial encironment comparable to Illustrator, you will need to do another dose of learning. some applications that can use the paths or vectorial components that can be generated in Gimp are Libre Office Draw, Inkscape and there are many more, many of which are also open source and cross platform. While a graphic designer might not think being able to work oin 3D cad is important to them, I would not necessarily agree. It all depends on what kind of clients you would want to serve. Also, graphic design can also be a component going into a video. and for that (but in Linux) you might well want to learn about Pitivi. Presently I have a vide started in Pitive for which I have done a draft rendering. the rendering process demands a powerful machine, so as your business grows b e prepared to reinvest. In thast video is a visual demonstration of the dynamics of various categories of dialectic balances and why some are more problematic to humanity than others. The video part is largely done, however for the sound, I have another challenge (as I suspect some of the You Tubers also do. Some You tube vodeos have no sound and a lot is lost, especially in the demonstration of complex technical tasks. Others have what seems to be synthesized voice. This lacks good control of the parlance especially as to syllabic timing and cadence. Using Audacity-freeworld (a Linux version of the cross platform Audacity, I have a whole sound studio on a PC. As it were an electronic cutting room and more, but that alone is unlikely to be adequate for the quality of sound I ultimately expect to produce. Add to that that I might want to do this in English, French and Spanish, and I LOVE my public speaking, but with advancing age, my voice has become too gravelly to ask an audience to listen to that alone. so I will hybridise the sound. Hybridizing is always somewhat more complicated but it also can solve problems otherwisr unsolvable. But all this takes time to set up and learn, so while this matters les to me being retoired. when your object is to make money and build a home bisiness, yoou might start small, but not so small as to be under the minimum of your market, then grow the learning, the equipment and the skills concurrently. This will optimize the growth, but also it wil demand maximum committment. Growthe is exponential as are learning curves, and even reproduction. so be prepared for the ardour of the beginning.
it is very hard to get a job with web design and so if you don't have absolutely any skill in that because this days mostly is searched for skilled people ..bummer
*when Tami and Jack together on training, magic happens. Members of the group get exclusive and well-constructed product training designed to make sales. Great stuff*
Hey Gillian. Just a gem, seriously. I am interested in a few things you've mentioned. But I would really like to see a video on the legal and tax side of having these businesses because I can't just accept money for this and to then just get in trouble with irs. Lol.
Maybe I'll do a video like that in the future :) Honestly though, the legal and tax side of running your own business (at least in the US) is *way* easier than most people expect. :)
I think this is the most honest YT video on work-at-home-jobs I've ever watched. Thanks for sharing. I'm going to download your E-book and see what I can do with it. I did make some web-sites (about 20 years ago in simple HTML), so maybe I'll return to that. A lot of things have changed during that time but one never knows.
This video is reeeeally motivating! I'm a creative person and I know I can learn ANYTHING if I want it. I'm an entrepreneur for 1.5 years now. But it feels like I didn't really "find myself". This video helped me to get my focus back on what might work for me - thanks for that :)
One thing which is huge- if you freelance you will be taxed up the wazzoo because you’re considered a business. Its usually better to work for an employer.
I'm a copywriter with notable experience, but have not found the approach mentioned to be a realistic money making venture. Online sites like Fiverr have trained employers to expect work done for 5 bucks, not the $40-60 per hr. my profession customarily pays offline, assuming you can GET a gig. And, as roles are temporary, you can go many months with no income in between. That's been my experience, at least. Getting consistent, repeat clients is the catch, and unfortunately this video doesn't explain how that's really done on a long term basis. Could I make $80k+ working from home? Unlikely.
Good content! Thank you. I have done some research on my own, and I would say I have found this to be consistent with everything I have found so far. I have been a web designer on a small level before, and only charged $50 per page using CMS, which is a LOT simpler than HTML - pretty much drag and drop. I studied the foremost CMS webstie provider at the time, about 10 years ago, and I got a few clients. Most people wanted the HTML sites, so I was VERY niche. But to be able to make a little cash off of a hobby was cool. I charged $1000 for an SEO package and that was my bread and butter. I am going to try my hand at a couple of these ideas as life has changed for me and I stay home with my toddler who demands MOST if not ALL of my attention and energy throughout the day. Thanks again for the info!
Interesting information Gillian. I own a franchise that operatates from home (home office) very convenient for building maintenance. I can give you further information. Thank you.
I'm a babysitter in NYC. I am paid $25/hr for 8 hrs a day and 5 days a week. It pays my rent and everything. It's just exhausting. I'm surprised you dissed it. My friend is paid higher at $350 a day for same hours. That's cash!
I work from home as an interpreter. I work only part time Monday-Thursday and make my own schedule. Don’t make tons of money like she’s mentioning, but it’s not bad. No stress job.
It's a really nice video but some of these videos are a little easier said then done- like Graphic Design is EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE and most people goto school for a BFA. While just teaching yourself is a nice idea and maybe taking a few classes would help, but you'll be going up against people who have gone to school for 4+ years and have BFAs or MFAs on it and most likely will get a serious job before you especially in an oversaturated market.
I have a chronic illness that makes it very difficult to leave my home. I love business and my dream is to work in the business world. I just wanted to give you a huge thank you for producing quality content with meaning. I am hoping that these options will work well with my situation. THANK YOU!
Wow, what amazing feedback! I'm so happy to hear that you did the video helpful, and I hope the information enables you to begin to create a wonderful life on your own terms. ❤
@@MAG320 no. Its just I live near cape town and you made it seem as if cape town was special in a way. I just wanted to know why u wanted to come to cape town specifically. Sorry to bother you.
It's a mixture of gut-wrenching and heart drop feelings when I realize how much I've been underselling myself and doing most of these for my clients. much. needed. enlightenment.
Come on! You don't need to go to collage to be a graphic designer.. but you could never get to be a good designer learning online if you don't have talent! This video ... Come on.... I dont usually give bad comments but this video is really offensive for all of the real professionals out there.
My husband and myself ran and managed our own business for over ten years. I feel we did quite well, and would be interested in learning about this line of work, on line.
Looove these videos!! I'm starting to create similar ones on my channel but it's so good to be introduced to new ways to make money from home. Thankyou for your valuable content, much appreciated x
I wanna add 2 more jobs to make it 14 one is medical biller and second is the medical coder. I have been doing both from home since 2016 and it pays good.
From General doctor offices. But Lemme tell you first this job is not for everybody, its a highly responsible job and yeah you need to know medical terms know how and billing procedures to get fluent. I had taken Biology in High School so understanding medical and health terms was not hard for me. I worked for Billing solution company and they trained me for quite a while. I worked there for more than one year then me and my colleague decided to freelance and now we are doing it. I would recommend joining a billing company or even health insurance as a processor to get a grip for 1 year or so and then try freelancing.
Tiana Hardy it depends, I am working for an Mri facility so they easily pay me $2400+ per month but general doctors and chiropractors or doctors with just ultrasound machine like thing pay really less as there bill is not as high and we work at 5% of what they get every month
I am a RU-vidr myself, but I am also doing some of those 12 work-at-home jobs for small businesses/clients. And this video is really helpful to me to find out other opportunities in this field. Thanks lots, Gillian !! I know not everybody agree with you, but never mind...keep up the good work !!
You are SO right Gillian....time is money and filling out the dang surveys is just ridiculous! If you want an extra 20 bucks, then surveys might work. lol great video
What are these surveys people are filling out? I wonder if we can combine programming and surveys to create some software that completes the survey for you?
This was interesting! As a cronic ill person, working from home makes it so that I can work more than I could have if I worked some oher place.. I don't know what I should do yet, because my illness came just two years ago :)
Thanks :) I just have to build my life around my illness, since there is no getting (much) better :) Want to write books, so maybe that's my life a few years from now :) Who knows :)
Thank you for this info AND for mentioning surveys, they pay crap and take so much time!!! So many people do say that they are a great way to earn money online and at home, but in my experience they are absolutely not!
Bravo! I've probably WATCHED all those videos about taking surveys you mention! Not only that, but the creators sometimes just change the order and release them again the following week. I thought all your suggestions were good ones. Looking forward to seeing what's next!
Ten years ago, I started editing marketing content for small to mid size companies and it was going well for a while. I have found that a micro niche was created by the beginning of 2013. These companies and even freelancers started creating their own video content without hiring help as a byproduct that showcases what they do for a living. There are loads of smartphone apps people are using now instead of actual software. I'm not sure how long this trend will last.
Web design actually sounds very appealing....I have a newborn on the way, and never really knew what I wanted to do after highschool all I knew is that I wanted to make a decent living but didn't know where to start...and I knew I didn't want to have to get up and go into somebody's office for the rest of my life, well now I'm 23 with my own baby due in a week or so, so I think I'm going to look into web design. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you💜💜💜
I'm n IT, so it's easier for me to find a remote job, I'm just applying at the companies' websites related to my industry. But the reason I left my corporate environment?.. I was sooo tired, unvalued and unhappy. Lots of stress, resposilibities, 24/7 routine. I've even recorded some thoughts on corporate environment on my channel - would love to learn if anyone feels the same way. I'm working from home for a year now and don't plan to go back!
I have become disabled and had to stop working at the job i was doing . Since then till now i have been looking for online work i only just saw your channel two days ago. i need your help.
It does not matter how much I charge for anything. It matters how much anyone actually pays me. I learned a long time ago that winning bids online always go to low wage workers who live in other countries.
This is a great list! I've been working as a integrated producer for ad agencies, but I recently injured and need to work from home. This video gave me some good ideas.
I applied for a job as a secret shopper for a major retail store. I was denied a job literally because and I was told this that my personal criteria isn't diverse enough. I'm caucasian, 50 and middle class. Most of my friends are from PR, Mex or Latino. My friend who is Latino, 45, middle class and most of her friends are caucasian or black, she got the job. Was I discriminated against, age or racially OR BOTH?
Although it's mentioned that some of these jobs don't require an education (graphic design, web design, etc.) It's more than benificial to go to school or get educated in these working fields. It can teach you to work more professionally, you'll produce better quality work, and having an overall knowledge of what you're doing can ultimately work out in your favor and earn you a higher wage. I might make a video about working from home or as a graphic designer because it sure as hell isn't as easy as she makes it sound
Could you suggest some sites that teach how to do Facebook ads, please? I’ve lost everything including my home in Hurricane Harvey and desperately need a way to get an income going. I also don’t know how you find clients to write ads.
There is a cheap class about how to do PPC in udemy of Isaac Rudansky call ultimate guide to adwords. Take the adwords certification and that will help you to understand online ads. Each platform is different but that is an awesome start. A lot of jobs on ppc
thank you for the tremendous wisdom, as always, gillian! i have a friend that does tremendous makeup work (more artistic, but she is also capable of doing beauty). she is a "starving artist" working 2 and sometimes 3 jobs to support herself. i want to approach her to basically set up an online business for her by: boosting her social media presence (she already has 40k followers, but there could always be more) setting up affiliate marketing opportunities and setting her up with a website and encouraging her to blog and do tutorials, maybe even set up courses for increased passive income i think this could be very profitable for her, could help her escape the rat race by leveraging her art, and would allow her to spend more time creating. my questions for you, or any of your subscribers, are: how should i try and sell her on this? would this be considered being an online business manager or a social media manager? i was planning on charging a percentage fee based on her results (because again she is currently a starving artist and i don't think she could pay upfront), but should i be charging per hour instead??
i would like to also add that this would be MY first "online business model" i have been taking a lot of courses online, but this would be my first actual execution, hence my leaning toward percentage fee based on results achieved
Gillian Perkins Because if you dont have any of these skills or experience or a product. You cant start any of these jobs/businesses right away, or even start looking till you paid some money to gain the experience, or developed a product lol... And idk about this person but if theyre anything like me, i dont have a few grand or hundreds of dollars laying around to experiment with... Lol i need money now lol... Just saying... But thanks for sharing this is something to look into for the future.
JonVieSays true , soo much info is free online though , anyone can learn a skill if they really want to . Just look at the beauty industry , all these gals are learning how to apply makeup like a pro w/out ever going to school .
