The quick answer is Laos. We are hitting 15 relatively inexpensive destinations this year. Thanks for sharing this great list. Hopefully we will qualify to share on this in the next few years. Cheers!
My wife and I spent 2 weeks in Guatemala for our honeymoon in the beginning of Nov 2022 and we can't recommend it enough! We didn't make it to the northern part of the country but rather stayed at Lake Atitlan, El Paredon, and Antigua. We were blown away by the beauty, friendliness of the locals, and ridiculously cheap prices! We can't wait to go back!
We had our buddymoon (honeymoon but with other couples)in Guatemala as well! It was amazing. We also visited Lake Atitlan and Antigua as well as some other spots. What other destinations are you excited to visit this year?
Did that Bulgaria lady really just try convince me Bulgaria is cheap when you’re paying almost $100 a night?Lady I’m staying in hostels that cost $5 I can’t do that.
She said LESS than $100/N. The location was centric, too. Plus, Kara & Nate have a different type of travel, it is not cheap whatsoever. So what they found IS actually cheap😅🤷🏻♀️
I’ve been to India, Indonesia, South Africa, Sri Lanka from this list. All the other countries are on my list except Bangladesh. I’d never thought of it but may consider it now. I really loved the tips about Cuba from Deb.
Also Guatemala is amazing! We went for our buddymoon (honeymoon but we went to other couples) and then we have done 2 Hopscotch the Globe group trips in the country. You'll love it!
Hello, I hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness, prosperity, and love 💛all over the world, I would love us to be good friends in honesty and in trust if you don't mind. I'm Doctor Christopher Johnson from San Francisco, California, where are you from if I may ask?♥

My first priority when choosing a destination is the opportunity to enjoy beaches naked. Followed by the freedom to enjoy tobacco. Then, the cost of traveling.

Unfortunately a HUGE side effect of westerners traveling is that we gentrify a country especially if we end up living there. Due to the "its so cheap there" the locals sometimes gets priced out. Like gentrification anywhere 😢
It goes both ways. I am visiting London and literally feel like I'm in India or the middle-east aside from the European architecture and infrastructure.
Bulgaria, India, Romania and Nicaragua I can get behind. Been to all places on the list and more and some of these don''t make sense. Costa Rica is way more than all the other CA countries. Bali used to be cheap as did Turkey. Bangladesh is cheap for a reason, not much to do. I could go on. I'd offer up Morocco, Colombia, India and Vietnam as cheap places worth a visit.
Wow awesome thanks for shared 12 insanely cheap budgeting travel destination,i'm watching they video also and indonesia one of destination,yeah...love it,im waiting here, please come to my country
@@hopscotchtheglobe thanks, yeah, I've been having a look already but the videos I'm seeing doesn't really seem to be my kind of travel. But I'll keep looking
@@hopscotchtheglobe budget but more in terms of traveling in the off season cos I try to avoid crowds as much as possible. But I also like the road less traveled kinda travel - not doing the typical or expected. I like to immerse a bit, mostly because I love learning new languages

Happy new year! It's coming along...haha It's been a process, but to be fair we've also gone back and forth a lot with the design. We'll be doing a very exciting update real soon ;)
Happy New Year Kristen, Siya, Kai, and Atlas!!! 🎊 As I also would say in Spanish to family and friends, Feliz Año Nuevo. By the way, I truly enjoyed this video! I'll keep these in mind. 😉🙂😎 #KristenandSiya
Henry! It's so nice to hear from you. It's been a while. Feliz Año Nuevo!! I hope your year is off to a great start. What travel plans do you have set up for this year?
@@hopscotchtheglobe Thank you. I know it’s been a minute since I’ve commented on RU-vid videos. But everything is going great, especially at work. Although I truly hope that I can someday go fully remote so that I’m able to work from anywhere in the globe. I’m hoping to finally explore Hawaii, Europe, or even New Zealand, in 2023. It’s super great to hear from you guys as well. Been watching since 2014. HAPPY TRAVELS! ✈️
I understand that travel is a privilege. These destinations are more affordable than others which is why we wanted to highlight them. That way it's more attainable for more people to travel that might have thought they needed thousands to do so.
I can only speak as a woman who has traveled solo and has some tattoos and piercings and I've felt safer in some places than other. But it's all about doing your research, using common sense and street smarts and not putting yourself in dangerous situations. Bad things happen everywhere...even your own backyard. We have videos on this channel that may help answer your questions and ease your concern... start with this one ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iVNBEwccdcE.html

I actually wrote a whole blog post about this. It's about why Indians eat with their hands but it would also apply to Bangladeshis hopscotchtheglobe.com/why-indians-eat-with-their-hands/

Just a heads up most of these places aren’t black friendly. Cuba is pretty ok depending on where you go. Be careful fam. I’ve been to each of these countries.
Oh man, rough timing with that Indonesia recommendation per their new morality laws for unmarried people. It’ll be interesting to see how this impacts tourism or how they could possibly try to enforce these laws.
Ugh, I hear you. From what I've read, it seems the law won't be put into affect for another 3 years. And unless they have hidden cameras in every hostel, hotel and guesthouses, how are they going to know what really goes on? I think if this actually goes into full effect, it would drastically effect tourism and since the country relies so heavily on it, it will force them to either get rid of the law or say goodbye to tourism in the country.

south africa, cheap and especially cape town the biggest tourist trap in the country. south africa are not as cheap as it made out to be. not all the prices mention are correct.
Horrible list. Im a new traveler in search of a simple destination and now I have all these options i never thought of. Thanks to all these seasoned travelers I now have more destinations to research. The video goes to show there are so many options for inexpensive travel. Again, Thanks.
@@hopscotchtheglobe right because now i have a little more looking into where i want to go first. i would have never even thought of most of those destinations. Plus getting info from folks that live there is a plus instead of people that just visit an area for a short time. great info for sure. Thanks a lot. Also the video was nicely done with good clear audio which is something that some overlook when making videos like this.
Thank you! All the people in this video have been full time travelers for years so I definitely trust their options :) most have spent a lot of time each place too
Because the Iranian government will imprison you and use you as a hostage to extract money from the government of whichever western country you come from. The only western people who should go to Iran are Mossad agents - who do a fantastic job! Once the Islamic dictatorship has gone, lots of tourists will want to visit this ancient and fascinating country.
All their recommendations are unrealistic for day to day people and most will not travel there. These people make a living out of bizarre video so that is their point of view.
You can travel anywhere even if you don't speak the language. Body language is universal. Plus you can travel with Google translate these days like you mentioned which is super helpful.
The more tourist areas always have the most English speaking locals. I'd say Bali, India, Costa Rica and Guatemala would be my top suggestions. But not knowing the language shouldn't defer you from visiting a place. We all can communicate using body language, plus these days there's Google Translate which is super helpful.
